Mind Trick
ColourPop Mind Trick Matte Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with warm, red undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was fantastic with opaque, even coverage that applied comfortably in a fluid stroke. The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy enough to glide on but not enough to slip into my lip lines. The color wore well for five and a half hours and was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$7.00/0.12 oz. - $58.33 Per Ounce
The Matte Lux formula is supposed to have a "velvet matte" finish that's "long-wearing" with "intense pigmentation and a soft blurring finish." Most of the shades are quite pigmented with four to six hour wear and a non-drying feel. The texture varied a bit as some shades were smooth, velvety, and thin without emphasizing my lip lines or pulling into them but several separated along my lip lines noticeably or color settled into my lip lines over time. I didn't get much scent from them--possibly subtle sweetness--and no discernible taste.

Check, Please
ColourPop Check, Please Matte Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium orange with strong, warm yellow undertones and a satin finish. The color coverage was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was smooth, creamy without being heavy or thick, and comfortable to wear. I didn’t have issues with the texture emphasizing my lip lines like I have had with some of the other shades I tested. This shade stayed on beautifully for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Maxed Out
ColourPop Maxed Out Matte Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, raspberry pink with cool, blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. The consistency was lightweight, velvety, and thin without being clingy, which resulted in nearly opaque color coverage that applied without streaking. There was a slight bit of color that gravitated toward my lip lines, but it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It lasted for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.

I like Mind Trick and Maxed Out. I have dupes for Mind Trick, but I don’t think I have anything like Maxed Out. Possibly a future purchase.
Honestly, I have nothing to dislike about the quality of these 3. They’re beautiful, and look more expensive on than one would expect at the price point.
But, alas, I do have dupes! ($ saved)
Mind Trick is gorgeous.
So these ones didn’t separate weirdly during wear? Darn, I should have waited for reviews before purchasing like I normally do…guess I just had bad luck in picking Paparazzi to order ? (curious to see if that will be one that doesn’t wear well for you as well!)
I’m going to have to pick up the orange shades next time I order. They’re gorgeous. I love the pink, too, but I most likely have dupes for it.
