ColourPop Like a Snack Lux Lipstick Kit Review & Swatches
Like a Snack
ColourPop Like a Snack Lux Lipstick Kit ($36.00 for 0.72 oz.) contains six shades ranging from peachy-coral to navy blue to deep burgundy. Five of the six shades were nice to wear and work with, but one shade fell quite short. They are available as a set, but they can also be purchased individually if preferred.

Electric Feel
Electric Feel is a muted, medium coral with strong, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had a smoother, more velvety texture than the other mattes in the set, which gave it better glide and comfort, though it was prone to pulling away along my lip lines in places so the finish wasn’t as flattering or as smoothing on my lips. It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$7.00/0.12 oz. - $58.33 Per Ounce
The Matte Lux formula is supposed to have a "velvet matte" finish that's "long-wearing" with "intense pigmentation and a soft blurring finish." Most of the shades are quite pigmented with four to six hour wear and a non-drying feel. The texture varied a bit as some shades were smooth, velvety, and thin without emphasizing my lip lines or pulling into them but several separated along my lip lines noticeably or color settled into my lip lines over time. I didn't get much scent from them--possibly subtle sweetness--and no discernible taste.

Electric Feel
LELimited Edition. $7.00.
Around the World
Around the World is a bright, medium orange-red with warm undertones and a matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a denser, firmer consistency that felt thicker as I applied it–there was a bit of drag but not enough to be painful or make it difficult to get even coverage–but it did not feel heavy while worn. The lipstick sat fairly well on my lips, and it lasted for six hours with a non-drying feel over time.

Better Off
Better Off is a muted, medium copper with warm, red undertones and a satin finish. The color coverage was fantastic with rich, opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips. It had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that skated across my lips with ease and was comfortable to wear. The color stayed on well for five and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.12 oz. - $83.33 Per Ounce
The formula that is supposed to be a "creamy-matte" that "glides on like butter, doesn't feather or bleed, and lasts so long you'll forget you're even wearing it." The majority of the shades were quite pigmented with full color payoff in a single stroke with a few in the more semi-opaque coverage range.
The texture was, on average, smooth, lightly creamy, and not too thick or too thin, so there was no tugging during application but the color didn't feel slippery while worn, which made them easier to apply straight from the tube and low-maintenance on the lips.
They tend to dry and wear down to a soft matte finish within one to three hours of wear, and while they are very lightweight on, they hug the lips more as they become more matte (compared to initial feel). The wear time has been between four and six hours for most shades, and most shades were non-drying to lightly hydrating. They were vanilla-scented but had no discernible taste.

JV
JV is a deep, muted navy blue with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick was richly pigmented and had a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was easy to maneuver across my lips for even application and rather straight lines (with little effort). It wore well for five and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Doin' Fine
Doin’ Fine is a deep berry with cool undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, which adhered evenly to my lips and did not emphasize my lip lines. The consistency was denser, slightly firmer in the tube, though it didn’t drag during application. This shade lasted for over six hours, left a fuchsia stain behind, and was non-drying.

Pencil Me In
Pencil Me In is a deep, reddish burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had an extremely firm, stiff consistency that made it a challenge to apply evenly. I had the best luck applying it in short strokes, which yielded more even coverage but took longer and did pull/tug at my lips noticeably. It had good color payoff, though not quite opaque, and it lasted for over six hours. The shade left behind a stain but was drying over time.

Another win for CP. Always like it, when they are available individually, because few people wish to wear all colors in such a varied set.
Nice set! What I love about it is that the six shades are so different from each other. I have dupes for all the shades that I really like in this set.
But I think it’s a fun set for someone who likes (but doesn’t own) a lot of variety. And for only $36, five A-rated shades are totally worth it. The worst is only a B-, so that’s not terrible.
Wow, Colourpop is doing lipsticks RIGHT!
CP really did a decent job with their Lux 6-pack! Not that I’m buying it as such, but there is one shade that I really love the look of, Better Off. It is fairly unique. Especially looking at it next to its dupes, it is still quite different from any of them, as it is more like a burnt deep peach.
Hmmm – the inclusion of a navy lipsticks is daring as few wear this shade as a lippie.
I like the Pencil Me In shade the best, but not the rating and the way it applies.
Your eye look is stunning! love the orange brow bone
This is a gorgeous set. I really love JV, and I’m glad to see navy mixed in with the warmer shades.
JV and Doin’ Fine are making my heart go pitter patter. But … I have a half-dozen lippies like Doin’ Fine, and the way I wear Squid Ink (applied thinly with a brush) it ends up looking a lot like JV, so … [sigh]
