Gotta Agate

ColourPop Gotta Agate Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, agate-inspired color story that included two shimmers and two matte shades housed in a clear, plastic compact. The matte shades had more semi-opaque, buildable coverage, and their textures were quite as top tier as they could be, but they were still easy enough to work with and those who use primer should find them even easier to use than I did.

Gem BB

Gem BB has a warmer, reddish-plum base with duochrome shimmer that shifted from bluish-teal to purple, which gave it a shiny, metallic finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, while the texture was moderately emollient but slightly fragile, so using a fingertip helped it to adhere more smoothly without fallout (a dry brush had slight fallout). It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Possible Dupes
These are likely to be very similar shades based on our duping algorithm.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

So Healing

So Healing is a medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a smooth, metallic sheen. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, even application of color. The texture was lightly creamy, dense without being thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it picked up well with a dry brush. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Psychic

Psychic is a dark, rosy mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly and blended out well, despite being slightly thinner and less velvety compared to recent ColourPop matte eyeshadows. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Long Distance

Long Distance is a blackened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was slightly drier and somewhat powdery, so you’ll want to take care applying to avoid fallout. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

I must say I like this one, but I think I can dupe it.
Most of all I like the dark plummy matte, Long Distance. It is a bit of a deal breaker for me with fall out from such dark shades.
I think all the quads in this release are quite nice. I wouldn’t mind owning them, but Ill save for whatever unique things that will come later this year, I’m sure there will be something, at least I hope so.
