ColourPop Foolish, Gallop, What If Lux Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
Foolish
ColourPop Foolish Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark copper with warm, red undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was very nearly opaque in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was lightweight, thin without being too thin, and creamy enough not to tug on the lips but adhered evenly and did not slide around over time. There was some product that gathered in my lip lines, though it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It wore comfortably for the first three hours but started to feel a touch drying after four hours of wear with total wear around five hours.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.12 oz. - $83.33 Per Ounce
The formula that is supposed to be a "creamy-matte" that "glides on like butter, doesn't feather or bleed, and lasts so long you'll forget you're even wearing it." The majority of the shades were quite pigmented with full color payoff in a single stroke with a few in the more semi-opaque coverage range.
The texture was, on average, smooth, lightly creamy, and not too thick or too thin, so there was no tugging during application but the color didn't feel slippery while worn, which made them easier to apply straight from the tube and low-maintenance on the lips.
They tend to dry and wear down to a soft matte finish within one to three hours of wear, and while they are very lightweight on, they hug the lips more as they become more matte (compared to initial feel). The wear time has been between four and six hours for most shades, and most shades were non-drying to lightly hydrating. They were vanilla-scented but had no discernible taste.

Gallop
ColourPop Gallop Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep copper with warm undertones and a cream finish. It was richly pigmented and had a creamy, lightly emollient consistency that was a little denser compared to other shades in the range. The color applied evenly and never tugged when applied directly from the tube. It stayed on well for five and a half hours and was a touch hydrating overall. I noticed that this shade didn’t seem to wear down to a matte finish until the fourth hour, and it has seemed that the faster it wears down to matte, the less comfortable it feels, so the extra slip in the formula helped this one.

What If
ColourPop What If Lux Lipstick ($7.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, raspberry pink with cool, blue undertones and a cream finish. It had good color coverage, though it wasn’t opaque, in a single layer. The lipstick had a creamy consistency that felt lightweight and was comfortable to apply, but it was prone to settling in my lip lines (which worsened over time) and did not apply as evenly along the edges as it should have. This shade wore well for six hours, left a stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Man I am so in to these new Colourpop lipsticks. It’s the right price, packaging, formulation (if you’re telling me they’re not drying then my sahara desert lips would be cool with wearing them on multiple days in a row), color selection, etc. Kudos to them and when my low-buy eases I’ll be grabbing several of these little babies.
What If is the big surprise WL Lux for me! I really wasn’t expecting to fall for this one, but yeah, I did.
The other 2 shades are lovely, too. Especially Gallop!
Oy, vay, mon dieu alors! Love gallop. Oh, yes, so much that I have six dupes…the Nars minus Golshan, which obviously I didn’t need, and the Nyx. Not to mention Braised Maple was for the Great White North, land of Bite’s creation, and KVD was never my fave….This is where you ‘fess up to overkill, right? Guess I really ought not be mooning over Gallop. As you say, Ms C, more than covered.
All the lipsticks are fantastic value – but I love Gallop the most. I don’t know why you would spend lots of money on a HE lipstick when you have Colour Pop putting out these incredible shades, with such sterling ratings at such a reasonable price.
I really like these shades, especially Foolish.
I don’t have any coppery reds like Foolish, I must have it!
What if is beautiful is this color similar to colourpop’s poppin or is poppin more of a hot pink
I really like all of them.
What If screams my name 🙂
I have dupes for Gallop, NARS Olivia.
Foolish will probably end up on my lips in the not to distant future along with What If, even though the latter could have been a bit better regerding getting into liplines, but that can be fixed during the day.
This whole range is a real win for CP
Gallop wasn’t on my list originally, but seeing it here and reading the review on it makes me want it! It’s such a nice color!
luckily, I have dupes for What If!
What If has been my favorite out of the 5 I got!
Surprised Fenty Candy Venom didn’t make it as a dupe for What If. Owning CV kept me from buying What If.
