ColourPop Deja Brew Palette Review & Swatches

Deja Brew
ColourPop Deja Brew 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, permanent neutral color story available at Target. It included three shimmery shades and six matte shades. The quality was consistent with ColourPop’s formulas: the shimmers were pigmented, blendable, and easy enough to use, while the mattes were pigmented, lightly powdery, and blendable.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

While I really like it, especially for some possible upcoming travel, I am feeling like this did not need 4 transition mattes but only 1 deepening matte. I would have loved it if it had another deep matte with an olive toned brown (but darker than Brew Me Baby!), plus a shimmery olive-bronze shade.
Cuppa’ U and Nutty 4 U are two of my most favourite taupe shades and they are beautiful here. It’s a good, solid neutral palette.
This is a lovely palette – good quality, wearable, practical, affordable! I wish it had been available last month, when DH was in the US and actually went to Target for some baby things for our grand-daughter!
somehow I don’t have great dupes for this palette?? I might actually pick this up!
Some nice shades here, but it’s just more of the same from ColourPop. Too many releases of similar palettes. Actually, too many releases, period. Yawn.
Wow, these shades aren’t the most exciting, but this palette is calling me! The shades look “goof proof” which is great when I’m rushing around in the morning, trying to slap on makeup, before running out the door. The shades also look very Zoom-friendly for work. They aren’t too bold, will add just enough color so you don’t look washed out
I agree with Seraphine. Same old, same old. Whatever happened to innovation?
