ColourPop Boba Super Shock Cheek

ColourPop Boba Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone true pink with golden highlights.” It’s a light-medium, cool-toned pink with lighter gold shimmer. Applied, the finish looks more like a luminous sheen than a frosted or overtly shimmery highlighter. This shade is more like a highlighting blush, as it gives color as well as highlights the skin. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and very blendable. On me, it wore well for eight hours before fading. MAC Please Yourself (LE, $27.00) is darker. MAC I’m a Lover (P, $23.50) is less shimmery. MAC Just a Wisp (P, $27.00) is lighter. Makeup Geek Head Over Heels (P, $9.99) is less shimmery. NARS Adelaide (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery. MAC Well Dressed (P, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Pearl Blossom (LE, $26.00) is lighter. Illamasqua Morale (P, $26.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Lunch Money Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “soft light gold with a reflective golden duochrome finish.” It’s a light, golden beige with a frosted sheen and warm undertones. It had good color payoff that yielded full coverage applied with fingertips, but the lightly creamy, emollient consistency blended out well so it could be sheered out with fingertips or applied sheer from the get-go with a brush. The finish may seem frosted in a swatch, but on the skin, it’s a luminous glow that doesn’t emphasize pores, but it does have very slight sparkle that is sometimes visible (depends on the angle), though it doesn’t seem to migrate. It lasted for eight hours on me. Estee Lauder Courreges (LE, $32.00) is a powder. MAC Perfect Topping (Lightness of Being) (LE, $30.00) is more beige. MAC Born to Dazzle (LE, $28.00) is more sparkly. Tarte Champagne (LE) is similar, powder. Urban Decay Craze (LE) is lighter, powder. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is powder. theBalm Solid Gold (P, $24.00) is darker. Illamasqua Aurora (P, $24.00) is a touch lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Boba is so pretty! I can see why it’s sold out. And Lunch Money is perfect, exactly what I’m looking for, a highlighter with a golden sheen, and so glad it doesn’t take a lot of “lunch money” to get it 🙂

Boba is kiling me! Where has it gone?! It has been “temporarily out of stock” almost since it launched! I check the site literally at least daily.-usually twice daily. I have ordered all the colourPop highlighters now.The rest should be on my door step late this week. Boba has been left behind! I must get Boba..It’s like my little lost pupply, lol. They both look stunning on you as always Christine. This is off this topic-sorry! I have been meaning to ask you. I had my eye on Cle de Peau’s lunminizers in Sand Beige and Gold prior to these being released. Those were going to be my big splurges for summer. Now I have bought all this ColourPop stuff and I know I don’t need them for summer. But, I feel my collection will need them at some point because I love delicate pink. Do you feel those shades fit well in the fall?

I think it’s just been sold out since it initially launched, and they’re still working on manufacturing the next batch!

The CdP highlighters work year-round to me, especially since they don’t impart a ton of color, so they could definitely work during the fall. As long as you feel like you’d reach for them regularly, they’re still worth splurging on, but maybe one at a time? Or maybe wait and see a bit to see how much you reach for all the new ColourPop highlighters vs. powder highlighters.

inyhjnk you are flattered by all of these, Christine! I am in love with Boba and I must have it whenever that happens! 🙂 Thank you for posting this! 🙂 xoxo!!! :*

What do u think of the highlights, Christine, as far as comparison with the quality of the higher end highlights out there? The formula is different but do they look as nice on the skin or cheap?

Boba is amazing on you! Out of the ten of these I bought, Boba is my favourite. Such a pretty pink highlighting blush which is super easy to apply (especially for someone like me who can be a bit application challenged).

I believe this answers the question of why Boba is always OOS, it is just beautiful! These are both great ones. Boba for that glowy semi-blush, all one would need might be a contouring blush and POOF! Lunch Money will probably be the perfect replacement for when my UD Craze is all gone.
