ColourPop 411 & BB Spice Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes Reviews & Swatches
411
ColourPop 411 Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a light, pinky-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a cream finish. It took an hour or so of wear before it wore down to a true “soft matte” finish. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and velvety, so it spread readily but didn’t feel as emollient/wet as other liquid formulas.
It was fairly forgiving of lip texture and lip lines, which was noteworthy for this type of color. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage, which was a little more pigmented than marketed. It stayed on well for three and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$8.00/0.24 oz. - $33.33 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be a "hybrid" product that has the "colour of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm" in a "creamy matte finish." They described the coverage as "buildable." They feature a flexible, doe-foot applicator that has a more rounded side and a more slanted, triangular side (the latter worked well for getting crisper lines of color).
The product had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single pull of product, though one could certainly use just one side's worth of the applicator product to achieve sheerer, more buildable coverage if desired.
The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread across my lips and kept it comfortable to wear. It wasn't clingy, but there was a bit of adhesion without tackiness, the kind I tend to find is present with more velvety, silicone-heavy formulas like this one.
It has a more cream-like finish that wears down to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don't have a full dry-down, so they are not transfer-resistant or ultra long-wearing. They lasted between four and six hours with deeper, more red-toned shades tending to last the longest and leaving behind light stains. They were lightly hydrating over time. There didn't appear to be a scent, and there was no taste.
They are much lighter-weight and less "wet" in feel going on initially compared to the brand's prior Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered more and was very long-wearing, and while not initially transfer-resistant, it was more transfer-resistant after an hour or two of wear.

BB Spice
ColourPop BB Spice Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a light-medium pink with soft, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had mostly opaque color coverage that adhered evenly to my lips but settled into my deeper lip lines a bit, more noticeable after an hour or two of wear.
The texture was lightweight, more velvety-smooth and mousse-like, which kept it comfortable and easy to spread across my lips. It lasted well for three and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

These are both a bit too light for me. However, I may be able to get away with 411 by using my trusty Nyx Earthtone lipliner. Maybe.
Not too keen on these – apart from being too light, they look a little too drying on the lips for my taste.
