Anastasia Iced Out Powder Highlighter Review & Swatches
Iced Out
Anastasia Iced Out Highlighter ($34.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a pale, white gold that flashed light-medium, more yellowy-gold with a metallic sheen. The lighter base didn’t seem to translate when applied to my skin, so it appeared a little warmer than I had anticipated.
The texture was moderately-dense, firmer but not stiff to work with, and felt consistent with the gel-powder hybrid formula it was. You’ll want to reach for a slightly denser brush if you want more coverage, as the firmer texture has no powderiness so sometimes more feathery brushes pick up product unevenly. The powder itself applied beautifully to bare skin and blended out as I applied it, and then it seemed to “melt” into my skin, giving it a smoother sheen that didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The highlighter had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

This has such a lovely, softer looking effect on the skin that, yes, it does look melted on! If I didn’t already have a few dupes for it, I would absolutely buy it.
You’d think they would have named this yellow/gold highlighter something other than “Iced Out”, which denotes a cool-toned, blue/pink product to me.
Right? Wasn’t what I would have expected based on name and pan. And it is sooo yellow it makes Christine’s skin look wonky.
Interesting how a product that looks white/silver turns out to be so yellow-y that I say, out loud “how is it yellow?!”
I had hoped for a white/platinum/diamond look, but no. I’m a bit disappointed, but to be honest I don’t need another highlighter, so maybe it’s good, at least for my wallet.
I recall seeing a few people review this when it came out and my exact thought was, why the name when it’s clearly yellow-ish.
I was kind of hoping it would have a sheer sort of glassy finish.
It promptly fell off my radar until your review.
Likes beautiful in the palette, but I can nearly see it on you. And since I’m not much of a highlighter person, it will be a pass.
