Coloured Raine Golds & Oranges Eyeshadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches
St. Germain Cocktail
Coloured Raine St. Germain Cocktail Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.064 oz.) is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, cream-like texture that applied evenly to the lid. I had no trouble blending out the color along the edges. This shade lasted for eight and a half hours before creasing.

Formula Overview
$6.99/0.064 oz. - $109.22 Per Ounce
2022 Formula: The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" and "blendable" with a "butterly smooth" feel. The majority of the matte eyeshadows were quite pigmented, while some of the shimmers were overly emollient, which resulted in sheerer and/or uneven coverage.
The matte eyeshadows have a bit of dryness to them, though they were pigmented and fairly blendable, but they tended to apply best over an eyeshadow primer, which ensured a better base for them to adhere to. The shimmer eyeshadows were best applied with fingertips or a flat, firm (and sometimes dampened) brush and pressed/patted into place, then lightly blended.
I did not love the two finishes paired together as the matte finish was thinner and more powdery compared to the thicker, denser shimmers, so the shimmers often "erased" the matte eyeshadows when blended out.
The formula was different than the brand's original single pan formula that they originally debuted with, and I preferred their original formula overall, though the new one is decent, just not as foolproof to work with.
Original formula review: The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented, long-lasting, and blendable" and come in a variety of finishes. Most their eyeshadows are semi-opaque to opaque with a smooth, blendable textures that are easy to use and apply well to bare skin. The shimmers are slightly dense and creamier to the touch compared to the mattes, which aren't thin but don't have the same amount of slip. They tend to wear between eight and nine hours on me.

Flashy
Coloured Raine Flashy Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.064 oz.) is a bright, light-medium gold with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. It almost looked like a duochrome, but if there’s a shift, it’s very, very subtle. The consistency was smooth, dense, and cream-like, which worked well for applying it directly to bare skin as it went on with rich, opaque and even coverage. It lasted for eight hours on me.

Superstar
Coloured Raine Superstar Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.064 oz.) is a deep gold with strong, warm yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich, opaque color payoff that applied evenly to the lid. The texture was fairly smooth, blendable, and easy to work with. I noticed slight creasing after eight hours of wear.

Happy Daze
Coloured Raine Happy Daze Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.064 oz.) is a medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a pink shift. It had a more noticeable duochrome that shifted from a golden peach to a pinky-peach. The consistency was denser and had a tendency to come away in chunks, so it did not apply as evenly to the lid as a lot of the other shades as it lacked some of the creaminess present in more blendable shades. It did last for eight hours, though.

Short Cake
Coloured Raine Short Cake Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.064 oz.) is a bright, light-medium coral with a sparkling, frosted finish. It had a very dense texture, which made it a little harder to work with fluffier eyeshadow brushes; I had the best luck using a flat, synthetic brush, as that picked up product better. The eyeshadow had great pigmentation, and once on the lid, it was surprisingly blendable and easy to work with. It lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

Yeeeeeeeees! They’re all lovely!
They are!
I am literally drooling over St Germain and Happy Daze! Kinda wish we could buy it in Europe (I know colour rain send worldwide but it raises the price a bit too much for my taste lol)
Gorgeous look Christine! All this gold is so Xmas appropriate ??
Yeah, international shipping and any customs/duties can make it harder to buy overseas!
Especially when the transporter asks you fees of minimum 15 – 20 euros because he paid 14 euros taxes for you at the arrival of the package in the country. The best being they ask you to pay in cash at your door (some weird amounts) and your give the change lol. I love when websites like beautylish allow us to pay customs ahead!
UK based Beauty Bay stocks Coloured Raine. They also offer free international shipping on relatively low priced orders.
You can order with beautybay, they even have the Queen of Heart palette! If you order more than 20 dollar you have no shipping cost. I have lots of their shadow I recomand all of them except “secret” (nice colour but the performeance is soso). I hope it will help you. If you live in E.U you can order as much as you want with no taxes!
Hi Marielle!
Thank you for your advices. I used to order at beautybay for MUFE products because the price difference was acceptable.
As for colourained… The price of the singles is doubled (I keep an eye open for a discount code!) and the palette can’t be shipped to the Netherlands or France… God knows why ?
OMG that’s so bad. i just went on their website the price of the shadow doubled, When I first order months ago it was 7 swiss franc and now it 12 swiss franc (>_<). I don't understand why they don't ship in Frande or Netherland… that's the sad thing when you're a beauty lover that's live in Europe :-(.
I didn’t know about the price increase… Well they must have seen their success coming? No idea how they set their prices.
As for the palette it was written something like “not allowed to do to your country”… The all range is available but not that. Weird huh?
These colors would not be very flattering on me, but I still think that the shadows are gorgeous!
I liked the finish on them!
i have never heard of this brand before. the colors look really beautiful ! the shade superstar is stunning!
They are more popular on Instagram/YouTube, I believe!
Hmmm, those last 3 shadows look kinda peachy! I think I can just take some Coloured Rain singles, put them into a Z palette to make my own “sweet peach” palette that’s better quality and has no fragrance. Will also slap some peach stickers on it
There ya go 😉 Peachy perfection.
Oh wow Pumpkin Pie is beautiful! May have to check out some Colored Raine shadows…but next year. I’ve spent enough in 2016 lol
lol! Totally understand 🙂 These are all part of their core range, so you should be good to wait!
I love Pumpkin Pie. It’s gorgeous!
It’s intense!
I may be in love with Pumpkin Pie, and maybe it’s just me, but it looks so much like Nars Taj Mahal? Which I have been wanting but couldn’t justify buying a bright orange blush for $30…maybe I could use this multipurpose?
It does look similar to Taj Mahal!
I like all of these, but especially Pumpkin Pie! (pie, m’mm)
‘Tis the season for all things pumpkin!
Totally blown away by the quality and dense pigmentation on these! They are all very beautiful. But my personal picks would be: Superstar, Happy Daze and Shortcake! Especially Shortcake, as it doesn’t look like any shade I own and is probably very flattering on blue-green eyes!
They are very dense! I think if one likes the more silicone-heavy/cream-like eyeshadows we’ve seen a lot of, they’re well-worth checking out.
Nice that everything scored well those shades can go sideways fast.
I’m so pleased with these!
Those golds are dazzling – what a great buy for the price. They are fabulous.
They’re lovely!
All of these colors are lovely with good pigmentation, but I really like St. Germain Cocktail. It reminds me a bit of the L’Oreal HIP Shocking Shadow Pigment (in the color Visionary) that I managed to find on Ebay recently!
Nice eBay find!
