Clinique Pansy Pop Cheek Pop Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Pansy Pop
Clinique Pansy Pop Cheek Pop Blush ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium lavender with a hint of pink and a satiny sheen.
he texture was soft, smooth and very blendable on the skin, while the finish is softly luminous without being too shimmery or dewy, so it didn’t emphasize pores and gave skin a smoother appearance. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage, but it was one of the lesser pigmented Cheek Pops I’ve come across. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Formula Overview
$21.00/0.12 oz. - $175.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as “vibrant yet natural-looking cheek colour that looks virtually powderless.” The texture was smooth, soft, and dense, so it was never powdery in the pan or on the skin. The blush had good color payoff that was easily sheered out (or you could apply less, as the denser texture makes that easy to control).
It’s the kind of texture that almost blends itself as soon as you start applying and working it onto the skin. The finish became more luminous as I blended the powder onto the skin, but it was never shiny or overly shimmery, so it always looked smooth on my skin and did not emphasize pores or my skin’s texture. Most shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

When worn in a subtle way, would this just look the same as a cool toned blush like MAC Peony Petal or MUFE 210 or MUFE’s I922 eyeshadow?
It’s going to depend on your application method, undertone, and skin color. All of those show up differently on me.
I am assuming you meant Make Up For Ever 210 HD Blush, but please correct me if I’m wrong, as there is an Artist Shadow with that number, but is is Sapphire, which is a blue. #210 HD Blush is pink and warmer toned. I922 is brighter and purpler, less pink. MAC Peony Petal might look the closest if you sheer it out, but it still appears a lot brighter on me.
Sorry, yes, that’s what I meant! I have those three, and they all look similar on me, not the same, with I922 being visibly more purple and with a different finish, but I think I’ll pass even though this is lavender! There’s something about shades of purple..
Glad I could help!
omg yes! I can’t wait til payday! LOL
Woohoo! 🙂
Ohh, super pretty! What other shades were you able to get? I am really excited about these!
I don’t remember the names off hand!
Oh I didn’t think it would show up but it looks super pretty on you!
It does! The formula binds really well, which helps a lot when it comes to lighter shades like tihs.
It may be less pigmented than the others, but it’s still beautiful. And, since I’m an NC 15, it will be plenty pigmented for me!
It sure will be 🙂
Oh, I’ve been looking for a lavender pink blush, and the flower design is so cute!! So spring-like. Do you know of some lipsticks that might match this blush?

Thanks so much for the ideas!
You look great as usual, Christine! Quick question: how does this compare to Mac Pink Swoon?
I believe Pink Swoon is pinker and brighter, but not really lavender!
I have MAC Pink Swoon- it is warmer, pinker, and brighter, but if you sheer it out, it does bring out some purple tones (probably more magenta than lavender), but on my cheeks, it pulls more pink.
is there a color your skintone doesn’t look fabulous in? Will this work on fair skin?
There are lots of shades I look terrible in! I don’t see why this wouldn’t work on fair skin! 🙂
I’ve got porcelain skin and lavender shades are some of my favorite because they give me that nice glow but don’t add redness to my skin like pinks are apt to do! Check it out, you might fall in love with the idea just like I did 🙂
this…..is…..BEAUTIFUL
It is!
I like this one, although I didn’t think I would, but there’s enough pink in it that it actually looks natural. Most lavender shades just don’t seem to blend in with my skin, and I feel like I have 2 patches of purple on my face. I think I’ll have to swatch this when I find in a store.
I hope this one works for you, Amy!
Ahh I can’t wait to see all the new shades! The Cheek Pops are likely to stay online exclusives here in Belgium, so your swatches and reviews are INVALUABLE for me! I don’t own a lot of lavender at all (read: hardly any), but I love how this looks on you!
Glad I can help 😀
This is the kind of lavender blush I’ve been looking for! Not too light/white based and not too cool toned.
I love how there isn’t a strong white coloring to it!
I need this.
It’s so springy!
Oooh, I like that! I have no lavender blushes! It’s so subltle and springy! Where did you find it though. I checked Sephora and Nordstrom. Doesn’t seem to be on their sites yet.
Clinique 🙂
Beautiful! This one is a must for me (NW20-ish).
Yay!
I’ve been anxiously waiting and hoping you’d review these, Christine!! I’ve been dying for swatches of all of them. Can’t wait for what you have to say about the rest 🙂
It was really weird – I’ve been trying to order Fig and Heather for weeks now, but they were up and backordered, then they vanished entirely… and then I checked mid-week and there were SIX new ones!
so glad to see your reviews of these! i’m also a huge fan of the cheek pops.
it’s ok if you don’t know, but do you have any information about when these will be released at counters?
No idea! I emailed Clinique a few weeks ago to inquire but never heard back, so all the info I have is straight off of Clinique’s website 🙁
Oh, my, this is a gorgeous lavender. I haven’t tried these yet, but I may have to splurge on this for spring. Glad to see it’s permanent.
It’s so nice to see them expand the shade range!
So pretty! This is a product I’ve been wanting to try just for myself for a long time! None of the original colors spoke to me but this one looks like my kinda color! Muahaha!
YESSS!
Really unique in the pan, but not very unique on the cheeks. Blushes piss me off. All look the same once applied.
You’ll have that with anything that is applied more sheerly, though!
I am surprised how much that wakes up your complexion! It’s very nice!
Thanks, Erin!
Oh, what a lovely shade! SO feminine! I’m in love. One more item to my collection.
(Thank you, dear! Have a nice weekend!)
Lauren.
Hope your weekend is lovely, Lauren!
Woah, I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do :-O
Surprise 😀
I’m both really excited and upset that Clinique came out with so many new shades of their check pop blushes because I LOVE THEM SO MUCH but I don’t have the money for all of them lol
LOL! I believe they’re all permanent, though!
This is absolutely lovely! I’ve been wanting a lavender and or purple blush and while I think this won’t be it(I need less pink) I may get this. Do you think these can be depotted?
I’m not sure – I have never tried to depot one.
Gerbera daisies are one of my least favorite flowers, so I have avoided these for that reason (honestly, I have no need beyond that desire of a makeup lover to ACQUIRE), and I keep lavender colored products off my lips and cheeks, but this looks beautiful on you and I love your enthusiasm about this product. I think of it every time I see it on the counter. : )
Aw, that’s such a shame 🙁
Ohh I love these, I have Peach Pop from last years release. I’ll probably grab more shades as soon as they come available.
Hope they show up at more retailers soon!
I love this! I can’t resist anything lavender and I’ve been wanting to try a Clinique blush.
Yayyy!
Nice! It looks so pretty on you. I’m getting this one and maybe Rosy or Melon too 🙂
Thanks, Valerie!
A lavendar! Love this.
I was surprised (but happy!) to see them bring out a lavender!
😀 I need this I love lavender blushes
Woohoo!
IM IN LOVE!!!!!
Yay!
Is there an ingredient list for this blush, such as on the box that came with it? There is no ingredient list on Internet. There are some ingredients that I’m allergic to…
This is all I have: http://www.temptalia.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/clinique_peachpop007.jpg
I didn’t notice it seems to continue before, and all my boxes from my most recent order are recycled now (as in, the city has already taken my recycling) so I’ll try to remember to photograph the box again whenever Clinique ships my backordered shades. I would recommend writing to Clinique, though.
Thanks Christine. It’s strange that Clinique doesn’t post the ingredients on its own website neither.
I did check Clinique + Sephora just prior to replying, and I was surprised neither had them (still).
I did a little more searching, and reader @Sylirael actually has the continued portion photographed here: https://thepaintedrogue.wordpress.com/2014/04/28/the-peachy-keen-rogue-and-other-wordplay-clinique-cheek-pop-blush-in-02-peach-pop/
Thank you! I just found out I’m allergic to chromium oxide pigments. Both pigments are in a lot of makeup. Nars lists it as a “+-” ingredient on its blushes, so I’ll likely have to quit wearing them. Nice that Clinique doesn’t list either chromium oxide pigment.
I have the box to one of mine. I’m one of those weird ppl that keeps everything in the original packaging. I could email you a pic or something.
Trina, that’s okay. I was able to view the link that Temptalia gave me. Confirmed that chromium oxide pigments aren’t in the Clinique blush. This is one line for me to look at to replace my Nars blushes!
Thanks for the offer.
Oh I love the cheek pop formula. I normally do not lean towards the lavender shades but this one looks simply divine.
xx
Me too! Such a great formula.
Hi! I’m going to put this here since I’m not sure if you check older reviews. Are you able to tell me why Clinique Peach Pop received an A and not an A+. I did not see any faults listed. Just curious. Thank you!
It lasted eight hours – that is a score of 8.5/10. If you look at the Glossover/rating, you’ll see where it lost points.
Nice shade. Perfect for spring.
Agreed!
I have a soft spot for cute flower packaging. Clinique got it right with this shade. I do not know why but I want to get everything lavender this spring – lavender blushes, lipsticks and even T-shirts. If it wasn’t for such a small weight, I would have snatched this blush.
This shade makes you look so refreshed, Christine.
Thank you!
Ooooh this is so gorgeous. I love how your warm-toned skin transforms the lavender shade into a very wearable pink.
LOL! Well, you’re probably the only one 😉
I’m sooooo excited for more shades although it will be hard to choose. I have the peach one and love it. Great for every occasion and day!
Yayy!
Are these $24 or $21?
$21!
This looks lovely on you!
(BTW, I believe these are $21, not $24.)
Thank you!
Oh, and this reminds me a lot of Sigma’s “Blackberry Essence” blush that came out with the Creme de Couture collection a while back.
Nice!
I love this formula too! I only have Peach Pop but I’m planning on trying some of the new shades. This is a pretty color but I don’t think lavender would be very flattering on me.
Hope some of the new shades work for you, Ankita!
I just love trod color! It’s so, so beautiful. I wish I could pull it off
Aww!
Lavender is my favorite color in all its variations, but it looks horrible as a blush color on my dark golden complexion. I can wear lavender e/s, nail polish, lipstick, but lavender blush eludes me (lol). In the meantime I’m Indiana Jones, enjoying the hunt until I find a suitable pairing. This looks great on you Christine.
I hope you can find the one that works for you, Erica! Have any of the brighter kind of pink-lavender ones been better for you?
Yessss!!!!! All of the yes!! I’m still working my way through the last lavender blush that you got me hooked on (Full of Joy), but
Haha! ;D
I just ordered this off of Clinque’s website (but it’s sold out, so I must wait for it for an indefinite amount of time). I’m happy that this is less pigmented, as I like a more subtle blush.
I feel you, Jenny! Two of mine are backordered as well.
Hi Christine!
I love these! I am fairly pale, I wear YSL beige 10 foundation. What shades would you recommend for me in these cheek pops? I want to grab a few.
They all look beautiful on you:)
Pansy Pop, Peach Pop, Rosy Pop!
Thanks! I’ll get them 🙂
I’m sorry if this posts twice! I’m having issues today 🙂
I’m taking your advice and grabbing pansy pop and rosy pop, but if I have NARS orgasm in the stick, should I pass up peach pop? Is melon pop a better option?
Thanks again for everything you do 🙂
Hi Mandy!
I think Melon Pop is more different compared to Orgasm than Peach Pop vs. Orgasm, though with the Multiple form, my guess is that you might find you get a lot more pink-coral out of Peach Pop with less shimmer as a result!
That’s a good point! I didn’t think of that 🙂 I just want to get as many different colors as possible 🙂
Thank you so much!
I wanted these so badly! But soon after the global release, even old Cheek Pops disappeared both from the counters in Moscow shops and from the Clinique Russia site. I managed to find Plum Pop though and hope it’ll make me feel better =)
I’m glad you were able to get one!
Hi Christine, how similar is Pansy Pop to Sephora Radiant Orchid powder blush (from the Sephora/Pantone blush trio)? Thanks!
Here you go! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=161492&dupe=191472
Thank you!!
Is there a particular brush you would recommend using with this blush? I am the fairest of the fair skin girls and I absolutely adore the formulation but cannot really get it to show up that well on my skin. Any suggestions?
Hey Courtney,
I haven’t had any issues with using brushes in general with these, but for sure I don’t use my SUQQU with this, since it is a little firmer/not at all powdery. I use Wayne Goss’s blush brush with these a lot and that works well!
Have been loving this ever since I saw it on you! Sadly in Germany we don’t seem to get the new colors (I’ve got Peach Pop and Plum Pop) but my brother happens to be in the States on a business trip and when he sent me some pictures via WhatsApp of himself in a huge shopping mall I asked him to hop into Sephora and see if he could get a hold of Pansy Pop… He just sent me a pic of the little Clinique packaging and the receipt <3
How sweet of him!! 🙂 I’m so glad he could get one for you!
