Clinique Cherry Pop Pop Lip Colour + Primer ($18.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “rich, blue red creme.” It’s a bright, medium red with cool, blue undertones and a soft shine. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that covered the lips evenly and smoothly, and this was the longest-wearing shade that I tried from the range, as it lasted six and a half hours with a strong stain left behind. It was moisturizing while worn. Buxom Scoundrel (P, $21.00) is glossier. Guerlain Garconne (P, $51.00) is darker, glossier. Urban Decay 69 (P, $22.00) is brighter. Maybelline On Fire Red (P, $7.49) is brighter, glossier. Guerlain Greta (P, $51.00) is glossier. MAC Evening Posh (LE, $16.00) is warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Vampire Kiss (LE, $50.00) is lighter, brighter. Guerlain Rouge Parade (820) (LE, $51.00) is lighter, warmer. Too Faced Melted Ruby (P, $21.00) is cooler, glossier. Estee Lauder Vengeful Red (P, $30.00) is lighter, brighter. Tom Ford Beauty Luciano (LE, $32.00) is darker. Tom Ford Beauty Alejandro (LE, $32.00) is darker. Clinique Wow Pop Pop Lip Colour + Primer ($18.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “bright, blue pink creme.” It’s a brightened, light-medium cotton candy pink with strong, blue undertones and a natural finish. It had good color payoff, though there was a veil of translucency still. The color applied smoothly but over the five-hour wear time, some of the color pulled into lip lines. It was comfortable and hydrating to wear. MAC Playtime (LE, $17.00) is more shimmery, warmer, glossier. Bite Beauty Satsuma (LE, $24.00) is darker, brighter. Illamasqua Luster (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. NYX Privileged (P, $6.00) is lighter, warmer, glossier. MAC Happy-Go-Lucky (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. NARS Angela (P, $32.00) is darker, more muted. Tom Ford Beauty Preston (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Maybelline Power Peony (720) (P, $7.49) is lighter, more muted. Formula Summary: Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer ($18.00 for 0.13 oz.) is supposed to have a “weightless” feel with “bold, saturated colour” that is combined with a “smoothing primer” so it applies with a “modern-velvet finish” (which Clinique also describes as “demi-matte”) and hydrating, 8-hour wear. As you might expect with a Clinique product, the formula has no scent or taste, which is always a bonus. If I ignore a lot of the claims, it’s a fine lipstick, but color coverage is more semi-opaque to opaque, wear three to six hours, and a couple of shades weren’t smoothing. They do feel lightweight with a thin, lightly creamy consistency that slides over the lips without tugging, and they’re lightly hydrating while worn. The shimmery shades seem to apply less smoothly and are more prone to wear issues (pulling into lip lines, shorter wear).

I love the look of Cherry Pop, it looks great on you 🙂 I have three shades of these in Melon Pop, Bare Pop and Poppy Pop. They are all nice but my favorite is Poppy Pop.

These are nice lipsticks, for what they are. It’s a shame marketing spiel got the better of it. I still want Love Pop, and won’t turn away from switching some others 😉
