Cle de Peau Lingerie Radiant Liquid Rouge
Cle de Peau Lingerie (11) Radiant Liquid Rouge ($48.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a cream-like finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied smoothly, but some of the color settled into lip lines noticeably, particularly on my bottom lip. I was surprised at how it did not leave “lines” when I pressed my lips together as it is such a light shade. The texture was smooth, comfortable to wear, and felt hydrating over the five hours it lasted. MAC Artful (LE, $21.00) is warmer (95% similar). Chanel Mystery (P, $30.00) is lighter, less pigmented, lower quality (95% similar). NARS Outrage (P, $26.00) is darker (95% similar). Jouer PCH (P, $17.00) is lighter (90% similar). Cle de Peau Chenille (12) Radiant Liquid Rouge ($48.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rosy plum with warm undertones and a cream-like finish and lots of shine. It had nearly opaque color coverage that went on smoothly and evenly. The texture was lightweight, gel-like as it “set,” and was very comfortable to wear. This shade wore well for six hours and was hydrating. NARS Cozumel (LE, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Hyper-Fabulous (LE, $20.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Becca Malibu Soleil (LE, $22.00) is cooler (90% similar). Chanel Intrigue (P, $30.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Pat McGrath Flesh 4 (P, $30.00) is darker (90% similar). Cle de Peau Flushed (13) Radiant Liquid Rouge ($48.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a subdued, medium-dark rosy pink with subtle, warm undertones and a fine, silver pearl. It was very pigmented, though just shy of being full coverage, and the color went on smoothly and evenly without streaking or looking patchy. The formula had a gel-like consistency that was comfortable to wear, as it wasn’t clingy or too tacky. I was able to wear this color for just over five and a half hours, and it was moisturizing while worn. MAC Astral (LE, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). Pat McGrath Divine Rose (P, $30.00) is lighter (85% similar). Urban Decay Frenemy (DC, $26.00) is less shimmery (85% similar). Becca Snapdragon (P, $22.00) is brighter (85% similar). Anastasia St. Tropez (P, $16.00) is more shimmery, cooler (85% similar). Lancome Polished Rose (01) (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (80% similar). Giorgio Armani Night Rose (507) (P, $38.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Cle de Peau Sequin (14) Radiant Liquid Rouge ($48.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a bright, peony pink with warm, yellow undertones and a fine silver pearl. It had richer color payoff than the others, but the texture was thicker overall as well, which made it a little harder to apply and keep from welling up in my lip lines. The color wore well for just over four and a half hours, and it was nicely hydrating. MAC Go for Girlie (LE, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). Chanel Sibylla (786) (LE, $30.00) is lighter, more muted (90% similar). Maybelline Blush Essence (095) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery, less pigmented (90% similar). Formula Overview
Cle de Peau Radiant Liquid Rouge ($48.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a long-wearing “glossy stain” that give lips a “shiny, vinyl look” with “rich color.” The consistency is smooth, lightweight, and like a watery cream when initially applied, but it develops into a lighter weight gel texture after a few minutes. Most of the shades have medium or greater coverage, long-wearing, high-shine, and are hydrating while worn. There is a subtle floral scent to the formula, but I did not notice it except in the tube and did not encounter any taste. They look more like a stain than they actually behave like one, as I only found the darkest shades to leave behind any trace of color after it had worn away. There is a slight tackiness after an hour or so, but it never turned truly sticky.

Something about this particular formula just speaks to me… Just by the swatches, it looks like a really comfortable formula! I’m in love with Cle de Peau Lingerie (11) Radiant Liquid Rouge!!
They’re really plush on the lips!
Gosh, these look soooooo nice!
They have a great finish!
Flushed is very pretty! I’m drawn to this type of lip product, but for some reason rarely use it. I seem to be most comfortable with traditional lipstick bullets for touchups throughout the day.
Interesting! Do you tend to apply on the go or in a bathroom? I wonder if one/the other changes things.
These are really lovely! More dupable than not, but the finish just looks so nice (and comfortable)!
They were surprisingly comfy! 🙂
These are pretty, but not $48 pretty. I appreciate luxury makeup and I even buy it sometimes, but there comes a point (at least for me) where the quality isn’t better enough than a lot of more affordable things to justify the cost. I suppose if I was endlessly wealthy I wouldn’t care, but it turns out I have to actually choose which items I think are worth the cost rather than just buying them all. ***Goes to water her money tree….***
Nothing wrong with drawing a line on what you will/won’t spend! I like to think of it as a personal choice, and so I don’t judge those who spend $X on something that I wouldn’t (or the converse, someone unwilling to spend $X, period).
I love Chenille, so pretty!
It is!
Flushed is simply gorgeous! Love it, but not quite enough to spend $48 on a longwear lipgloss that leaves no stain behind in actual practice. But will look into its dupes, though, as I love the shade.
I understand, Nancy! These are a little more “stain-like” in look than in terms of heavy duty staining.
Nice but too much $$$ for a “glossy stain” aka pigmented lip gloss.
Totally understand!
Whew for $48 that lipstick better be an A+++++. I don’t mind paying extra for quality but I can’t pay extra for a name!
I understand! 🙂
These are beautiful! Oh I do love the finish!
The finish is lovely!
Flushed is really pretty with the subtle pearl in it.
It is!
They all look very pretty on you the only one I am not crazy about is #14 sequin the color is pretty but the formula on this one doesn’t look the same. I own 13 and 15 and I probably would have purchased more but they are very expensive. Thank you for the review.
Are you enjoying the ones you have, Maria?
Yes. They aren’t drying like some lip stains.
I might need Chenille…48 smackers though!! Holy high dolla!! But it wears for 6 hours? Is it staining at all? You probably mentioned it somewhere but my mind was blank after reading…48 dollars! Still, it’s gorgeous, and looks rich and moisturizing. Must resist…
Not really staining over time!
#12 looks so good on you! Perfect lip color!
Thank you, Chartavia!
I really like Flushed. Cde P isn’t avaliable in stores here, so I’ll not get it. I like to try the costlier products on before buying them, or at least swatch them.
That’s a good policy – I think it can be easier to make decisions when you see and feel products in person!
I love these type of formulations for lips! They r so flattering, & leave lips conditioned. But the real seller is how long they last. I have 12 of the YSL ones, 8 of the l’Oreal ones, and of the MAC, and 1 of the Tom Ford. YSL is my favourite. I’m curious to try the Cle formula, but don’t know any place near me that sells it (I don’t think Selfridges even sells it, or Harrods, or Harvey Nics). Armani has a lip product that is similar, but I noticed you haven’t reviewed them. Any thoughts on them if u’ve tried them Christina?
Which Giorgio Armani formula? If it’s not reviewed here, I probably have tried it though!
It’s the Armani Ecstasy Lacquer. I believe IT Cosmetics also has released one as well.
The IT cosmetics is call the Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Lip gloss stain, btw.
I really like Flushed and Chenille, but not enough to spend $48 each on them.
