Ciate Nova, Venus, Eclipse Liquid Chromes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Nova
Ciate Nova Liquid Chrome ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with warmer, pink and gold pearl. The gloss shifted from pink shimmer to more golden orange shimmer, and this was one of the most obvious shifters in the range. It had semi-opaque pigmetnation with a smooth, lightweight texture that wasn’t sticky and was easy to spread across the lips. The gloss went on evenly and just had a touch of color that pulled into my deepest lip line. On me, it lasted for four hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$18.00/0.1 oz. - $180.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "color-shifting" lip gloss with a "high-shine" finish that can be used "on it's own as an intense [gloss]" or layered as a "lip topper." The brand doesn't say much else with respect to the product, but all in all, it really is a straightforward release. The consistency was smooth, almost creamy, but not too thick or too thin with slight tackiness that did not feel heavy or goopy on my lips. The coverage level was more medium than sheer or opaque with a high level of shimmer, which seemed to align with its ability to be used a "lip topper." Some of them shifted more than others, but they all had a very shiny finish that caught and reflected light well. The formula was comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating, and lasted between three and five hours on me.

Venus
Ciate Venus Liquid Chrome ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark red with warm, brown undertones and fine, multi-colored pearl. It had a more shimmering, metallic sheen and did not shift much to my eye. The finish was mirror-like and reflected a lot of light, but the shimmer seemed mostly pink at any given moment (or angle!). The gloss felt lightweight, was moisturizing over time, and creamy going on, which made it easy to apply. The color payoff was semi-opaque, though, so it worked better alone than for layering unless one dabbed just a touch of it over another lip color and used a separate applicator (finger or otherwise) for blending/spreading. It lasted for four and a half hours on me.

Eclipse
Ciate Eclipse Liquid Chrome ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a plummy brown with subtle, warm undertones and multi-colored pearl (mostly violet and fuchsia with a bit of gold and copper). This one did not seem to be much of a shifter–it was shiny and shimmery but not shifting to my eye. It had medium coverage that was comfortable to apply as the texture was lightweight and creamy, but the color went on unevenly and sat in my lip lines a bit. The gloss wore well for four hours on me.

Man, these are pretty but me and lip gloss don’t have a good relationship.
Just come to the conclusion that my small lips have too much of a small surface that it uses on everything to keep them on past the 2-hour mark. lol
Aye! Two hours 🙁
I was more excited about the idea of the Glitter Flip line than these… But I think the Chrome line actually looks a lot better! How tacky are they? As someone with long hair, tacky glosses and I don’t play well!
I think these are easier to wear by a long shot! They aren’t very tacky at all – very minimally.
Great! I will have to pick one up the next time I make a Sephora order… or if they have them in-store on Saturday 🙂
My fave color here is Eclipse, but I can see where the formula is thinner and settles into lip lines 🙁
Yeah, it isn’t the most forgiving!
I have Haterade and Moscow Muled, so I guess I am good! Nova is pretty though:)
Close enough 🙂
Nova and Venus both look quite nice applied. But when I tried Nova on in-store, I felt as if it made my teeth look quite yellowed! Otherwise, I was set to buy it right then and there, because the shift is quite strong and beautiful!
As for Eclipse; NOPE. Too sheer for such a deep shade. But, I’m loving its name!?
Aww, darn! Sometimes colors can do that 🙁
Though thes colors, especially Nova, don’t really work for me, I love me some shimmery lipsticks!
In fact, Milani has come out with a similar product that I’m really enjoying.
I use it blended in dabs over deep matte lip color for a “3-D” effect.

Thanks for sharing the Milani product!

You’re quite welcome!
I have only “Chromatic Addict” from this line, but I’m just crazy about it, and fully expect to add more shades.
They’re so diabolically inexpensive, and they’re cruelty-free, so there’s little to hold me back.
Eclipse is really pretty. I like it a lot but not sure how it would look on me as I am very cool undertoned and paper has more color than I do. We’ll see.
It is a nice color!
Nova and Venus are really beautiful shades. Love them.
These are very neat!! Just nothing that would ever look good on me! Haha!
I really like Nova a lot. I think I might just about be able to pull it off. Venus would probably look better on me, but I have lip products that are sort of almost dupes.
Glad these are not as drying as the glitter flips.
