Ciate Luna, Aurora, Zodiac Liquid Chromes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Luna
Ciate Luna Liquid Chrome ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium pink with warm yellow undertones with lighter gold shimmer. I didn’t feel like this one shifted so much as it had a ton of gold pearl that gave it a metallic finish and the much lighter gold pearl contrasted a lot with the warmer pink base. It had medium color payoff that went on fairly evenly with just a touch of color pulling into my lip lines. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and mostly non-sticky on the lips, which made it comfortable and easy to wear over the three hours it lasted for.

Formula Overview
$18.00/0.1 oz. - $180.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "color-shifting" lip gloss with a "high-shine" finish that can be used "on it's own as an intense [gloss]" or layered as a "lip topper." The brand doesn't say much else with respect to the product, but all in all, it really is a straightforward release. The consistency was smooth, almost creamy, but not too thick or too thin with slight tackiness that did not feel heavy or goopy on my lips. The coverage level was more medium than sheer or opaque with a high level of shimmer, which seemed to align with its ability to be used a "lip topper." Some of them shifted more than others, but they all had a very shiny finish that caught and reflected light well. The formula was comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating, and lasted between three and five hours on me.

Aurora
Ciate Aurora Liquid Chrome ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish brown with warm undertones and gold-to-green shifting pearl. The consistency was lightweight, smooth and almost creamy as it was easy to spread across the lips and was quite comfortable to wear. It applied evenly and didn’t pull much into my lip lines (just barely and that high-shine finish camouflaged the impact from a normal viewing distance). This shade lasted for four hours and was lightly hydrating while worn.

Zodiac
Ciate Zodiac Liquid Chrome ($18.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium, fuchsia pink base with iridescent, icy violet pearl. Again, this was a lot like Luna where the shimmer contrasted heavily with the base color, which brought it forward and made it seem more nuanced, though the shimmer itself had only a minor shift from bluish-violet to pinkish-violet. It had medium coverage in a single layer, so it worked well on its own but also for layering. The texture was smooth and creamy without any tackiness and was a bit more emollient compared to others in the range. It did not apply as evenly as I would have liked, partially due to the shimmer not spreading evenly. This shade wore well for three hours on me but was hydrating.

The sheer volume of lip releases is completely overwhelming me this fall. More makes me less decisive. A good thing; makes marginal temptations less likely to happen. I was interested in Zodiac, but it’s not there and I’m not looking for ‘toppers’.
Oh, I’m overwhelmed myself, so I really can’t imagine how consumers feel – would be so hard to choose!
I love the colours Luna and Zodiac!! I would wear the heck out of them. But i’m going to pass. I really don’t need two more lipglosses!!!
Good job resisting!
Luna is really pretty! Is there a rose type shade in the range?
All six are swatched – just click “formula overview,” and there is a link to all swatches.
Luna and Aurora are gonna get tried on my next trip up to Sephora. Both look amazing! Almost did the other day, but I didn’t exactly have on a look that would’ve allowed me to assess whether I would love it or not. Next time; a neutral eye look instead of a strongly purple look. Have a feeling that one of those will be coming home with me!
Keep us posted, Nancy! 🙂
Luna is cute for a more understated fun lip.
It would be!
I love Aurora – a glorious shade.
It is!
Wow, Zodiac is a neat shade! I wish it applied a little better!
Me too! 🙁
I already ordered Infamous, might have to go back for Luna -I’m a sucker for gold shimmer!
