Ciate Burnt Astrolights Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Burnt
Ciate Burnt Astrolights Eyeshadow Palette ($35.00 for 0.56 oz.) is a new, warm-toned palette for the holidays, which may be covered territory in your stash but is a nice option for those who haven’t yet indulged in the right warmer palette. The texture of the formula is soft but not dusty, a little airy but cream-like on the lid–the brand calls it “powder-gel.” All nine shades were easy to work with, and the shimmers had great pigmentation and wear, while the mattes had medium to full pigmentation but were buildable.

Blaze
Blaze is a soft, golden peach with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had a soft, more loosely pressed texture but looked and felt a bit cream-like on my lid as it “melted” almost when applied. It had rich pigmentation that adhered well to bare skin and stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Haze
Haze is a bright pop of chartreuse green with a warmer, more orange base and gold-to-green shifting shimmer. The texture was slightly dusty in the pain, but it applied well to bare skin, though using it with a dampened brush really helped it pop. It had good pigmentation that lasted well for eight hours.

Gilt
Gilt is a medium coppery-brown with warm undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. This shade is similar to Bullion (right next to it), but it doesn’t have as much shimmer so it does, functionally, end up being a darker shade (a few steps down) with a less intense sheen. It had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. The texture was soft, smooth, and easy to pick up with a brush. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before I noticed slight fading.

Flame
Flame is a light-medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation that applied better to bare skin than anticipated, as it didn’t have too much fallout and seemed to adhere without sheering out. The texture was soft, more substantial, but a little powdery overall. It lasted well on my lid for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Ignite
Ignite is a medium-dark copper with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It had excellent color payoff in a single layer that went onto my lid evenly and smoothly. The texture was soft, velvety, and a little powdery in the pan, but it didn’t sheer out too readily on my lid but still blended out easily along the edges. It stayed on well for eight hours before it started to fade on me.

MPO is the size of these palettes, that shocks some people, is fairly perfect. Very compact with no wasted space, portable. Huge, fluffy eye brushes may not fit, but most of my Waynes/Zoevas/ Its/and now Sonia!! do. Ciate seems to do a better job on these smaller selections than the big CM hauls. The cohesiveness is there, yet you can get lots of varied looks. The smaller pretty, fun, and fearless still seem available on S, plus there is a ācoolerā palette for this season. I think Ciate is often overlooked in all the hoopla over other IGāed to death product. Same with Butter London: lots of people think both lines are just nails, and they both made the transition to color cosmetics well.
I love smaller compact sleek packaging!!
Except both Butter London and Ciate let their nail lines go when they broadened their offerings into make up. I miss all the unique colors and availability both used to offer in their nail lines.
It’s a beauty! I’m thinking that if I looked up each shade’s dupes in my vanity, I may possibly cover at least half of these. But not in one palette, that’s for sure. I may just get this, as I see it as being quite cohesive, only lacking my browbone shade.
This looks like a great travel palette. I was looking at grabbing the purple version, but I I haven’ taken the plunge yet.
This is a really pretty palette. I haven’t tried any of Ciate’s eye palettes yet. The formula sounds interesting.
If you’ve tried any Japanese-brand eyeshadows or ones like Surratt… they feel similar. I think they’re more of a slurry formula by touch… but a little denser/more pigmented.
I’ve only tried some Shu Uemura. I have the Too Faced Love Palette, which is supposed to be a slurry formula.
Probably closer to shu!
OK; thank you so much for the explanation!
Nice color story. Love that it’s reasonably priced too.
My kind of colors! — fortunately or unfortunately I’m positive I have dupes of every one.
This looks interesting but I love and have so many coppers and bronzes in my collection that I don’t need to add more right now.
Oh! Gosh! I might just get this for my daughter it is beautiful and without the ridiculous shocking price. I probably have all shades already but Iām tempted. Lovely!
I put this on and took it off my loves list at least three times. Sure I’m sick of pinky palettes, but this one looks so especially pretty. I’m glad it got a good review and if it ever goes on sale I just might pick it up…..
A really good set of gorgeous, very warm toned shades. Beautiful eye look Christine.
