China Glaze Beach Cruise-r Nail Lacquer
China Glaze Beach Cruise-r Nail Lacquer ($6.49 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “glimmering fuchsia grape.” It’s a vibrant fuchsia magenta with a very fine white shimmer that’s barely visible in natural light. SpaRitual Color Trip is slightly darker, more jelly-like. SpaRitual Imaginarium is also similar, perhaps a smidgen pinker. Illamasqua Obsess is a hint more on the magenta side and has a cream finish. Deborah Lippmann Makin’ Whoopee is a little more fuchsia but has a similar fine shimmer.
Beach Cruise-r is fully opaque after two medium-thick (not too thick, not too thin) coats of polish. The formula on this one was better than Splish Splash, as it wasn’t as thick. It flowed easily across the nail during application, which resulted in a bubble/pooling-free experience. It dries to a semi-matte finish, so you’ll want a good top coat if you prefer a shiny finish. The drying time was about average, though I’d say considerably shorter than a lot of neon polishes (which always seem to dry quickly).
It’s a really fun pop of pink for summer that’s very cool-toned but so bright that the undertone doesn’t matter, because it’ll contrast nicely against all skin tones, light to dark, cool to warm. Beach Cruise-r has a color that’s perfect for summer with its near-neon vibrancy and subtle shimmer.

LOVE! Ugh, CG is one polish though that doesn’t like my nails. I’ve tried so many different base coats and top coats, but it takes considerable work to make this brand work for more than a day or two on my nails. I don’t have this problem with other brands in a similar price point, like Orly/Essie/OPI. So frustrating! But this color is so gorgeous, I may just have to bite the bullet and get it anyway.
So weird, this shade looks completely differnt in your swatches than it does in Scrangie’s.
@Anitacska Christine’s pics tend to be truer than other blogger’s; I think it’s her lighting. Honestly, although I read *many* other reviews on products, this is the *first* place I go for swatches. I have visited other blogs, and the pics are so bad (dark, yellowed, etc), that I sometimes wonder why they even bother to post them. I don’t mean to offend other bloggers, but I think Christine has invested more in her lighting.
@xamyx @Anitacska actually it might be that you have seen different colors because china glaze released two different versions. one that is more on the pink side and one that is more on the purple side. you can check out the comparison here: http://www.thepolishaholic.com/2012/06/china-glaze-under-boardwalk-version-2.html
Such an amazing colour!
Such a pretty, quintessentially summer color! Love it!
Hey Christine!:D isn’t it very similar to Urban Decay Miss T nail polish?
@Martyisblue Miss T is pinker I believe! 🙂
I am a fuchsia fan so this one was the first of this collection I wanted to nab when the swatches first started to appear before release of the collection. Now that I have it – well, it’s neon and they are fun in summer – but I really love some of my other fuchsia better like OPI Flashbulb Fuchsia and OPI’s Let Me Entertain You from the Burlesque collection – and a old tried and true OPI in Pompeii Purple.
It is very fine, I like this so much. The product are very fine.
Love this! Such a gorgeous color! I think it looks great on you.
I normally LOVE hot pinks, but this reads kind of…Barbie…to me? I’m not sure why! Might be the shimmer?
Hi! I own this nail polish and it is completely different from the swatches above! 🙁
