Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Blush Glow Set Review, Photos, Swatches
Filmstar
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Blush Glow Set ($78.00 for 0.80 oz.) includes a bronzer and blush housed in side-by-side pans. Per the brand, it includes a “natural bronze hue” while the blush adds a “limitless glow.” The two worked well together, but the bronzer is quite light and was subtle on my skintone so this might be more suitable for lighter complexions if wanting to use the bronzer as a bronzer. (I liked the bronzer as a soft highlighter, which would work on light to medium skin tones.) The duo was lovely overall, but I wish the brand thought to include a deeper version or had gone with a more medium-hued bronzer that might work for more complexions. There was a brush included, which was serviceable but nothing noteworthy and not something I’d use as it was somewhat scratchy and prone to shedding.

Filmstar Bronze (Original)
Filmstar Bronze (Original) is a soft, light brown with warm undertones and a fine, golden sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff with a soft, smooth consistency that was firmer in the pan but not difficult to blend out or to use apply to the face. The bronzer wore well for eight hours on me.
It appeared to be the same as the shade in the original Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette (that is permanently available). I felt like the one in this set seemed slightly less pigmented but was otherwise consistent.

Filmstar Blush (Original)
Filmstar Blush (Original) is a brighter, medium pink-coral with a golden sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, lightly dusty texture that was incredibly blendable and easy to apply to the skin. The finish was luminous and did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The color stayed onw ell for eight hours on me.
It seems incredibly similar to Love is the Drug, but the description did not say as much, and the Cheek to Chic Blushers are technically duos, but the swirled color is very comparable to this shade.

Is it wrong of me to expect a higher mark on a blush that breaks down to $39US?
It looks workable for fair skin people as well as the bronzer looks less orange than most. 😉
Definitely not! This compact is expensive!
I do really love the blush half of this duo quite a lot! The “bronzer” is a bit light, although I think it could give my skin some warmth without adding much, if any, depth?
It might give you a bit of warmth, Nancy! Definitely do not think it will darken or be very visible though!
Just an FYI: Canadian cosmetic company Lise Watier has a similar looking product, their Havana Trio Glow. It has an additional strip of highlighter down the centre. Big price difference, though: $46 Canadian vs. $78. US.!
Thanks for sharing, SusanG!
Oh! Are these the same I saw from Avon? My mom ordered an eyeshadow palette (from a friend representative) and the colors are beautiful! I’d like to try their coral shimmering blush but already have Formula so is almost the same.
Oh, I’ll look for that one. I’ve been wanting to try Lise Watier. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com
Susan, thanks for this. I love much of what I have from Lise Watier but I don’t think I’ve ever had a face product of hers (eyes, lips, skin/body care and foundations and concealers but never a blush) so I’ll be eager to grab one of these.
It’s a pretty set. I was thinking of getting it, but I’m on the fence about it now. The bronzer is too light, I have no use for the brush, the only thing left is the blush. Not sure if I want to pay $75 for the blush…
I would skip if you aren’t going to use the bronzer often (or at all)! You might as well just buy her Love is the Drug blush instead!
Good idea! Think I’m going to pass and save my money for the upcoming Pat McGrath lipsticks. That’s somethings I REALLY want! 🙂
It’s ok, just seems very pricey
I thought the same, and I think it is the inclusion of the brush 🙁 The Bronze & Glow is $68, and I don’t recall it coming with a brush. Though, the compact has a lot of product in each pan, too.
I’m so glad I passed on this one, but I really really wanted to get it! I’m an NC42 right now and the bronzer was not going to work for me, not even at my usual NC40. I was hoping for the bronzer to be darker, I even chated online with one of Nordstrom’s representative to see if they could actually tell me the name of the shades in this palette since they were not listed in the product description, but all they told me was that the shades were original to this palette. This could of being a great palette for every day and for travel!
A definite miss at NC42 or NC40 🙁
Wow, talk about getting the reviews up lighting fast! Thanks for this – now this can go back without me trying it 😀
No problem, Connie Lee!
Looks so pretty but a B+ at $75 I’m going to my drugstore instead. Wow! Looks small also. Insane pricing! ?
It is a pricey one!
The bronzer in the original set looked cool, almost beigey when tried on by a family member. The swatch in this review would be right up my alley, but I’d have to try it on in person. Since the closest Nordstrom is 2.5 hours away, I’ll pass. Plus, I’d much prefer the CT eyeshadow palette being released in August.
It’s closer to neutral-to-warm (gold shimmer) to my eye!
I hope they sell the bronze side on its own – it’s the perfect blush/bronzer 2-in-1 product for me!
They sell it as part of a duo!
This is an odd color combo. The blush is too bright for most pale people and the bronzer is too light for anyone but pale people.
Yeah, the bronzer almost appears a highlighter next to it!
I’m pale but a little less pale now that it’s the summer (still pale though lol), and the blush looks beautiful on me. I actually really love (and was surprised by) this palette. I wrote one of the reviews on Nordstrom for it! The two colors complement each other on my skin and were exactly what I wanted.
A pretty bright blush and the bronzer doesn’t seem to turn orange. Expensive though.
Charlotte Tilbury has a new eye shadow palette out too, I am not sure whether this is part of the collection or not. But it looks beautiful. Would you be able to review it please?
I’m not sure – I don’t have it at this time!
That is a good amount of product for the money, but I would rather that she left out the sub-par brush and dropped the price.
I agree – the brush seemed unnecessary!
I really want this except I have the original Filmstar B&G and all the 5 Minute palettes which means I have at least 3 pans of the original bronzer. I wish she had done a blush & highlighter palette instead or a new bronzer.
Oh, wow, you are stocked up on that bronzer, J! A highlighter would have been great.
I got this and I love it! I had a bronze and blush combo compact from Lorac that I used for years and years before they discontinued it. I just stopped buying bronzer after that, but since I’ve stopped self tanning and sitting in the sun, I really wanted something to warm up my pale skin. I think this palette looks great on my skin tone. It warms up and slightly contours my face and the blush gives a nice pink wash of color on my cheeks. I thought the brush was decent for one that come with a palette (though I do understand we are actually paying for it). I’m no makeup guru so I’m just a regular person giving an opinion, take my comments for what they’re worth, haha. I definitely think it’s expensive but I’m hoping it lasts for a long time. I’m using it for special occasions for now.
I wish the bronzer was a little more pigmented! But, I do love the blush!
Hi Christine,
I love your reviews and pics as these are very helpful.
I have the Charlotte Tilbury Sculpt and Highlight, I note that this product says Bronze but is it the same I.e. The Bronze and Sculpt. I’m just not 100% sure and want to check. Thank you.
