Chanel Tisse Ombre de Lune (258) Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad ($61.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a new palette released with the Les Sautoirs de Coco collection. I tested this set of shades twice, because I was so confused by how quickly they creased/faded on me (I normally get seven to eight hours with some fading with this formula), but both times, three of the four shades couldn’t make it past six hours.

Tisse Ombre de Lune #1 is a light, golden beige with warm undertones and a pearly, shimmer finish. It had nice color payoff with a soft, lightly dusty, consistency that blended well and didn’t sheer out too much. It had faded after seven hours of wear. Wet 'n' Wild Walking on Eggshells #2 (PiP, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). LORAC Dream It (LE, $19.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Stila White Sparkle (LE, $18.00) is lighter (95% similar). Morphe Beam (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Morphe Enlight (LE, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). theBalm Wipe Out (LE, $16.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Not a Basic Peach #5 (PiP, ) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tisse Ombre de Lune #2 is a bright, light-medium silver with neutrla-to-cool undertones and a frosted, metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a texture sheered out noticeably on the skin to more like semi-sheer coverage (it ended up looking warmer on me, as so much of my skin tone came through), and it was hard to build up the color to true-to-pan intensity unless I used a dampened brush. On me, the color wore well for six hours before creasing. KVD Beauty Moonshine (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Dior Trompe L'Oeil (011) (LE, $31.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). NYX Tin (P, $6.00) is cooler (95% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty In Doubt (PiP, ) is darker (95% similar). Dior Blue Garden #4 (LE, ) is darker (95% similar). MAC Silver Coin (LE, $22.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Tarte Flask (P, $14.00) is more shimmery, brighter (90% similar). L'Oreal Silver Sky (757) (P, $7.99) is warmer (90% similar). Viseart Boheme Dream #4 (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Coloured Raine Flashing Lights (DC, $6.99) is darker, cooler (90% similar). NARS Creeper (LE, $25.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Too Faced Drippin' Diamonds (LE, $16.00) is darker (90% similar). NARS Silver Screen #3 (PiP, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). LORAC Silver (PiP, $19.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Morning Ticket (LE, $17.00) is lighter (90% similar). Giorgio Armani Ice (43) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (90% similar). Chanel Architectonic #5 (LE, ) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Viseart Mercury (GPV2 #14) (P, ) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Viseart Sterling (PiP, ) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Tree Topper (LE, $17.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tisse Ombre de Lune #3 is a light-medium, muted peach with warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had decent pigmentation, but it was also powdery, so it was prone to sheering out and looked a little dry applied to the lid (I have normal-to-dry lids). Despite that, my lids seemed to just eat this eyeshadow up–it was creased and faded after six hours. City Color Bubble Bath (P, $6.99) is more shimmery (95% similar). Sephora Desert Rose (DC, $10.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Too Faced Cheers! (LE, $16.00) is darker (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Honey Bunny (400) (P, $28.00) is darker (90% similar). Buxom Champagne Buzz (P, $12.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC This Love (LE, $21.00) is darker (90% similar). NYX Girl Talk (P, $6.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC A Natural Flirt (P, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Dior Blue Garden #1 (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Guerlain Les Cendres #4 (LE, ) is lighter (85% similar). Chanel Tisse d'Automne #2 (P, ) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Give Me Fire (LE, $17.00) is darker (85% similar). LORAC Peony (LE, $19.00) is lighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Tisse Ombre de Lune #4 is a muted, medium black with neutral-to-cool undertones and a dusting of silver micro-sparkle over a mostly matte finish. It was dry, dusty, and sheered out easily, even though if you don’t touch it and just pat it on, it had more semi-opaque coverage. It had creased on me after six hours. LORAC Raven (LE, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). LORAC Onyx (LE, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). LORAC Indigo (LE, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). Smashbox Blackout (PiP, ) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). ColourPop Knight (LE, $6.00) is darker (95% similar). Anastasia Spirit Rock (LE, $12.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Nude Awakening #7 (PiP, ) is less shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop Raven (LE, $6.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Make Up For Ever D104 Black Diamond (DC, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker, more pigmented (90% similar). MAC Nutcracker (LE, $17.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). KVD Beauty Black Star (LE, ) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Tisse Smoky #4 (PiP, ) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). The Estee Edit Mood (LE, ) is darker (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Night Owl #2 (PiP, ) is darker (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The permanent quads in their line in this formula as so good I don’t understand why the LE releases in the recent past have been so poor. I really wanted the Rouge Noir quad at Christmas but the quality was not there as you pointed out in your review 🙁

i unfortunately would have rated this lower than you did. i don’t know what to think anymore with chanel. almost everything has been a fail for me. i’m very pale. the darkest shade smudged and had fall-out. i only saw that color and the other looked silver on my eyes. very disappointed! i heard that for fall, chanel is going to have a different formula and will be all matte? i miss their old formula! i wonder when the “kristen stuart” collection will be arriving? i hope the quality is better. xo.

This quad didn’t tempt me at all. I think I have dupes for most, or at least ones that are good enough. I think this is a step back to what the quads used to be, I had one, not too unlike this one, and it wasn’t good. I haven’t really bought much Chanel in years, though I know they were quite good for a little time, and maybe the permanent eyeshadows are better than this poor one. If I were to pay this much for a quad it had better be stellar.
