Chanel Tanami (602) Aqua Glossimer
Chanel Tanami (602) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a jelly-like finish–no shimmer, glossy sheen. The summer glosses are a “lighter, water-like” version of the traditional Glossimer formula. The texture was lighter, smoother, and definitely a little more slippery. It had semi-sheer color coverage–a noticeable tint to the lips but didn’t hide the natural lip color–that was comfortable to wear, moerately hydrating, and lasted for three hours on me. NARS District (LE, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Star Quality (LE, $20.00) is darker, brighter, more pigmented (85% similar). Giorgio Armani #519 (P, $29.00) is darker, brighter, more pigmented (85% similar). Chanel Sonate (178) (P, $30.00) is darker, more pigmented, warmer (85% similar). Chanel Aurora (822) (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Sirocco (604) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium orange with warm, yellow-red tones and a sprinkling of fine gold sparkle. It had semi-opaque color payoff that went on evenly and didn’t seem to emphasize lip lines. The texture was lightweight, non-sticky, and moisturizing overall. This shade wore well for four hours on me. Burberry Coral (P, $29.00) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Chanel Calypso (LE, $30.00) is cooler (95% similar). MAC Eclectic Edge (LE, $21.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Riviera Life (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Becca Papaya/Topaz (P, $24.00) is warmer (90% similar). Sephora Fresh Mango (26) (P, $12.00) is lighter (90% similar). Guerlain Tangerine Vlam (P, $30.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). Cle de Peau Deco (16) (P, $48.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). MAC Ablaze (LE, $21.00) is brighter (85% similar). MAC Rambunctious (P, $21.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Lancome Orange Ore (03) (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, brighter, warmer (85% similar). Ciate Nova (P, $18.00) is more shimmery (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Rouge Desert (606) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a slightly bright, medium pinky-red with subtle, warmer undertones and a jelly-like finish. The color applied evenly and had semi-opaque coverage. I did notice a little color seeped into lip lines and made them appear a bit darker, but I don’t think most would notice it on me (viewing at a normal distance vs. me inspecting up-close!). The texture was smooth, non-sticky, and comfortable to wear. It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating. Illamasqua Fume (DC, $22.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Josie Maran Always Cherry (P, $18.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Sephora Cougar Red (27) (P, $12.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Bad Apple (LE, $7.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Adenium (612) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark pink with subtle, cool undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage that went on fairly evenly, but I felt like this made my lips look darker in some places but not consistently across the board. The texture was smooth, easy to wear, and felt lightly hydrating overall. This shade wore for three hours on me. Maybelline Captivating Carnation (080) (P, $8.99) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Revlon Pink Pop (DC, $7.99) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

These are right up my alley since I prefer lip glosses with little to no shimmer.
Awesome! ๐
*sigh* These look AND feel so lovely! I already have three but think I’m going to get 2 more. They are just so easy to wear! I just wish they weren’t so bank breakingly expensive, haha!
They are comfy to wear! ๐ I hope they’ll add the formula to their range sometime.
I purchased Sahara, Adenium, and Tanami. As a long time fan of the discontinued Aqualumiรจre formula (which makes an occasional reappearance in the Asian Le Blanc collections) I was happy to see this Aqualumiรจre/Glossimer hybrid introduced. The colors are typical for summer–no surprises there–but they are cheerful, effortless shades that offer a glossy tint to the lips that I find quite appealing during the warmer months. The formula is also very comfortable on my dry lips and I find it hydrating and soothing. I also like that, considering it’s texture is so balmy, it doesn’t migrate or settle in lip lines. All in all, I’ve been very pleased with the three that I selected.
Happy to hear it, Eileen! I’m surprised it has taken them so long to put out something like the Aqualumiere formula.
Sirocco and Rouge Desert are sooo pretty!
They are!
Gosh, they’re all sooo pretty!
Which is your favorite?
Sirocco is stunning and love the way you used MUFE Lagoon Green pencil.
Thank you!
These are too sheer for me, but Sirocco looks pretty on you. And I LOVE your eye look, not sure if I can pull off bold yellow gold shadow with my yellow undertones ( might look like I need a new liver) but want to give it a try !
I hope you can give the look a shot, Katherine ๐ Let me know if you try it!
Out of these 4, I am really loving Sirocco! It just looks like “summer” in a tube! But alas, I’m a skinflint… willing to spend $60-80 on a select (and RARE) eyeshadow palette or $35-7 on a rare lipstick, but $30 on a lip gloss? Nope! So, I will instead seek a dupe for it.
Totally understand ๐
Desert and Sorocco are actually kind of pretty. Not my type of product, though.
Yeah, these are definitely a type of product that won’t appeal to all!
Christine… U r killing me here. I love softer shades; and with the mac collections coming up; had planned to dislike these. But these look just fantabulous on you. Gosh, I dont dont know now what to take and what to leave. Please review the mac collections soon… Esp the lip balms and the huggable lipsticks… And put this girl out of her misery. This hot hot summer is really getting hotter
These are nice if you are a lipgloss/tinted balm kind of person – they are easy to wear/comfortable to wear and still have some color. I don’t think you need every shade or anything! They are very different from Huggables/Tendertalks, though.
Sirocco is a repromote. I had it several years ago.
I think the formula is slightly different – Chanel is at least billing these as “Aqua Glossimer” and not regular Glossimers ๐
Rouge Desert and Adenium are super nice. I’m not sure I’d buy either but Rouge Desert is really pretty. It would go farther to showing up than Adenium I think.
It definitely would show up more!
Love Sirocco and Rouge Desert, I’d get them if they were lipsticks but I’d struggle to finish a tube before it went gloopy so it’s not worth the money for me ?. Sirocco is really wearable as an orange though, it’s almost coral.
I can understand that! It’s no good to spend $30 on a gloss that’ll go bad before you finish it!
I have Tanami on order. I am a little late w getting the Chanel LE Summer 2016 e/s quad. I could only choose 1 glossimer due to finances (adulting sux), so I saw Tanami on a YT vid & it looked like it really suited the palette. I will buy the other 3 next cheque if they still have them at my source if not oh well at least got 1! The green e/s is truly amazing in that palette w these lipglosses. Chanel can do very little wrong & their tutorials make it look รผber simple 5-min-to-chic even this goof myself could apply it & have Kristen Stewart glam looks myself. If u invest in good products they’ll practically apply themselves & it’s marginally true! You have more chance of getting it right when they make it easy. Chanel is by far the easiest of all MU to apply. I get the best results.
I blew it, I kind of have all 4 on order. There were other ones but I couldn’t get them all that’s absurd! Chanel says basically a limited # made so when gone good luck. I didn’t want to chance it & am excited to lemming them! They are blind buys. But Today I got 2 illusion d’ombre’s (128 VHTF! Very coveted & 81), lipliner, lipstick, samples, Gloss volume clear glossimer, & on order the 4 glossimers & calligraphie black eyeliner for chanel. I also got my EL 2016 blockbuster (somewhat of a disappointment), chanel does not often disappoint! I really can’t wait for all my stuff to get here! @Christine which one do you like best for transitioning into N American Autumn? We haven’t had a hard freeeze in the ground yet so I’m not staring at snow drifts out the homestead lol so I’m tryna do Indian summer MU. @Christine did you like their summer 2016 LE e/s palette w these lipglosses? Would it look weird for Fall, early mid December anyone? I could skip the Green….if that’s too summery?
I don’t think it would, but I do think you can wear whatever you want regardless of the season ๐
