Chanel Rouge Desert (606) is a moderately cool-toned, medium-dark red with a jelly finish. It is a limited edition lipgloss that retails for $30.00 and contains 0.2 oz.
Chanel Rouge Desert (606) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a slightly bright, medium pinky-red with subtle, warmer undertones and a jelly-like finish. The color applied evenly and had semi-opaque coverage. I did notice a little color seeped into lip lines and made them appear a bit darker, but I don't think most would notice it on me (viewing at a normal distance vs. me inspecting up-close!). The texture was smooth, non-sticky, and comfortable to wear. It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating. Illamasqua Fume (DC, $22.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Josie Maran Always Cherry (P, $18.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Sephora Cougar Red (27) (P, $12.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Bad Apple (LE, $7.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
The best-loved gloss returns with a lighter, water-like texture for a splash of shine.
