Go Pretty in Pink with Chanel

Just in time for summer, Chanel’s Les Pop-Up de Chanel Collection (which is now starting to pop-up–pardon the pun–in stores) introduces two new and limited edition shades of Rouge Allure LipstickSuper (rose) and Genial (coral). When I visited my local Chanel counter, Darling was also listed. Rouge Allure Lipsticks retail for $30 a pop. I picked up both Genial and Darling last week but I’ll show you those later this week–not to worry! 🙂

Super is a brightened pink subtly splashed with fuchsia with just a subtle blue-base to it–normally blue-based pinks can make me look a little corpse-ish, but this one has just enough to give it a cool edge (which also helps make my teeth look a bit whiter!). It has a naturally glossy sheen and semi-opaque color coverage. It looks pretty solid on my lips when pictured from a distance, but you’ll notice in the close-up that you can still see my lil’ lip beauty mark!

When I first swatched this on my arm, it seemed really vibrant and almost neon, but on lips it’s a lot more wearable. I think on more pigmented lips, this might read a stronger red-pink than as light as it is on my lips, and for those with very un-pigmented lips, I imagine you will find this looks a little brighter (more true-to-skin-swatch).

It’s a cute, perfect-for-summer shade with the fabulous Rouge Allure formula–smooth, moisturizing, and wears for a nice four to five hours. It’s almost a must-have, but it’s not quite there for me; perhaps if it was more opaque, I’d be totally loving it. But hey, it almost matches Riviera, so matching lips and nails… could be cute!

  • Product: 28/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

Recommendation:  If you’ve always wanted a bright pink in Chanel’s Rouge Allure formula, you should definitely check this shade out.  If you’re looking for a totally opaque bright pink, this isn’t quite there.

Christine,
Do you know if this collection is available at all Chanel counters or just Nordstrom and boutiques? My Chanel is in Macy’s and they don’t get some of the LE stuff. (the gold collection, jade, etc. )

-Allie

All locations as far as I know!

Noir et Or and the Jade collections are both exclusive to boutiques only, so no counters received either.

That is gorgeous! where can i buy that color? Are chanel l/s worth the money? I usually wont spend more that $14 for a l/s ie MAC. Do you have any MAC dupes for this color?

I’d say perhaps Lovelorn!

I love Chanel lipstick, but if you don’t spend more than $14, I’d definitely see if MAC could get you a similar color.

Once again, looks great on you! The finish is very natural it seems, from your full-face photo. Almost like a stain with some sheen. I really like everything about this and I haven’t tried Chanel before!

Yes, definitely! It’s like bright… but yet… not in your face. You wouldn’t go, “Oh, that’s a subtle pink!” but it doesn’t feel like a full-on bright pink either.

This is gorgeous!! It seems like a very “watery” pink to me, with that fabulous finish.

P.S. I adore your lip’s beauty mark 🙂 I have two scars on my lips (one on my upper and a corresponding one on the lower lip,) so my eyes are always peeled for other ladies who have distinctive markings, too!

Yes — kind of this watery, jelly quality. There are a few other lipsticks covered or to-be-covered (who can keep track!) that have that same look – which isn’t a bad look, but definitely distinctive.

I never really noticed it until others pointed it out, but now I love it, because it’s a fantastic way to gauge just how pigmented a lipstick is, LOL! Can I see it? Can I not?

Gorgeous! Christine, have you tried this with Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect in 557 on top? It’s a pale pink with ultra-fine pink, green and blue shimmer. One of the prettiest glosses I’ve ever seen. It’s a fantastic combo, I can’t wait for the weather to perk up a bit so I can start wearing it.

I’d wear it alone, with neutrals, golds, blues, pinks or purples. I’d probably use bronzer or pink/purple blush.

I wonder how would this look on my NC42 skin tone?? I saw this in person on Saturday and swatched it on my arm. I am wondering what would it look like if I wore it with only blush and mascara.
