Chanel Satisfaction (89) Rouge Coco Shine
For spring, Chanel’s released four new shades of the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lip Colors ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) formula. The Rouge Coco Shine formula is supposed to have sheer color payoff paired with “lasting, moisturizing shine in a water-light texture.” Satisfaction and Boheme are permanent, while Mutine and Emotion are limited edition.
Chanel Satisfaction (89) Rouge Coco Shine ($35.00 for 0.10. oz.) is a light-medium, muted peach with hiunts of beige and warm undertones. It had semi-opaque color coverage, actually, which was surprising, as this formula is typically more barely-there. It has a soft shine and lasted three hours on me. It was slightly hydrating. Guerlain Galiane (15) (P, $51.00) is more opaque, slightly warmer. MAC Naked Bud (LE, $16.00) is warmer, sheerer. MAC Fleur d’Coral (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Pout (142) (LE, $30.00) is lighter, more matte. Maybelline Nude Lust (920) (P, $7.49) is lighter. Maybelline Blushing Beige (915) (P, $7.49) is lighter. MAC Luxe Natural (P, $22.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chanel Mutine (90) Rouge Coco Shine ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is soft, muted rose with a golden shimmer-sheen. It’s sheer, as described, and just seems to lighten the natural lip color and make it slightly pinker. The sheen and slight shimmer seemed to last for an hour and a half on me, so I wore it twice, and felt like it was lightly moisturizing over time. Revlon Pink Lemonade (P, $7.49) is lighter. Guerlain Beatrix (LE, $48.00) is darker. Dior Candide (P, $31.00) is slightly pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chanel Boheme (91) Rouge Coco Shine ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium orange-coral with warm undertones and a soft shine. It had sheer color coverage that gave lips a stained-like appearance with a glossy shine. It wore three hours on me and was moderately hydrating. Too Faced Bon Bon (P, $21.00) is more opaque. Revlon Lover’s Coral (P, $7.99) is less glossy. Burberry Primrose Hill Pink (P, $30.00) is more opaque. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chanel Emotion (92) Rouge Coco Shine ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark, pinky-berry with cool undertones and a soft shine. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a translucent finish so the natural lip color would still come through. It wore well for almost four hours, and it was moderately hydrating while worn. MAC Commotion (LE, $20.00) is brighter, darker. Revlon Plum Velour (P, $7.99) is darker. Too Faced So Berry Sexy (P, $21.00) is more opaque. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Emotion is really pretty!
It is!
I am a much bigger fan of the YSL version…okay so the pretty barrel helps too.
It’s a highlight of YSL’s price point, I would say. Like Guerlain Rouge Automatiques – whether you love it or not, but the case is less standard. The illusion of getting something for your money!
I like them all, but obviously NEED the first two!
I knew these would be right up your alley!
As lovely as these look, I don’t feel like I could justify the hefty price tag for such sheer colours. If I’m spending a lot, I want to SEE where my money’s gone!
There’s definitely a lot who feel the same way as you, Louise! 🙂 I might do it for a really sheer, sparkly gloss, but sheer, barely-there gloss without shimmer? Not my choice personally!
@ Louise exactly what I thought! I am usually a sucker for LE Chanel, but this seemed like a waste of my hard earned cash
There are a few of these that I’d love to get but the wear time is 30 min. for me, no joke. I get so frustrated with Chanel’s lipstick line, I don’t even know why I bother at this point. I need to realize, for me & me alone, that Dragon was the best they ever did and I’m glad I have it & a back up!
Awwww!
I am LOVING Boheme and Emotion! They are the perfect natural, everyday shades for me.
Happy to hear it!
Oooo, I love Emotion—such a pretty berry that’s not too deep.
Very true!
Satisfaction and Boheme are 2 colors that I would wear, specially Boheme for spring and summer.
They’re very appropriate for spring/summer!
Boheme looks a lot like Chanel Pygamillion from last summer.
There’s definitely some resemblance!
I am loving Satisfaction! I got the Rouge Coco Shine in Boy because everyone was raving about the formula and color, but it is too dark on my lips! I think this will be the one for me! It also looks a lot like MAC’s LE color in 3N… What do you think, Christine?
I want to say 3N is lighter!
I like Satisfaction!
Yay!
Pretty lipcolors, but wow, Christine, your skin looks totally amazing in these pictures. I thought for sure you were wearing Guerlain Parure de Lumiere, but I’m surprised to read it’s actually the terracotta foundation. It’s so luminous! How’s the coverage? Your skin looks pretty flawless!
Will review hopefully 🙂 We’ll see!
Fantastic! I’ll wait for that review. Thanks!
Very pretty, but too sheer for me. If I ever shell out for a Chanel lipstick it’s going to be something bright and bold and visible! I think I will stick with my Maybelline Color Whispers for barely-there color.
Sounds like a good idea!
These are too sheer for my taste.
I hear ya!
Emotion looks nice, but personally I’m not a fan of Coco Shine range. These are more gloss / balm like than lipstick-like, so their lasting power isn’t very impressive. But what bothers me most, is the lack of hydration. For that price tag I would have expected more. 🙁
I agree — I wish these were WAY more hydrating!
I really love how Boheme looks on you. So pretty yet very wearable.
Thank you!
Hm, I wonder how Satisfaction and Mutine would look over my zero-pigment lips… (Revlon Demure has gotten me into a ‘sheer nudes’ frame of mind, LOL)…
Pretty, I’m sure! Still on the sheerer side, though!
Wow Emotion! These apply a lot sheer than they appear in tubes!
Yes, this is a very sheer formula! 🙁
Love Chanel lips!! I have Secret in the Shine and Icone in the other formula. Just wish the Shine had more product since you do have to apply more..but it just feels so good! 😉
Happy to hear you like the formula!
Aside from the fact that Chanel lipsticks last about an hour on me, the Satisfaction and Mutine shades kinda look like posh lip balms as they’re barely there if you know what I mean and I don’t want to spend a bucket load of money on a lip balm. Emotion looks pretty tho.
Will still give em a miss. Sorry Chanel.
Yes, this is a formula that will wear away even faster than the regular formulas!
Not a huge fan of the formula because I prefer long-wearing lipsticks, but Boheme and Emotion are really pretty shades, 🙂
I totally get ya! I prefer a longer-wearing formula, too.
Boheme is a lovely shade .. and Emotion also comes out prettyy well on lips.. Grgs lip swatches dear.. 🙂
Thank you!
I expected that 91 will be similar to 62 Monte Carlo when I’ve seen it in the bullet.
Good or bad thing?
Goddess much?
🙂
These all look very nice! I have a love hate relationship with lip shades of this opacity. On me they either look like nothing or they don’t look like they do in the add copy because of my natural lip color!
These are definitely shades that can be sheer enough that they don’t do much on the lips!
I really like Satisfaction, though all them are nice. It’s not too peach, not too beige and somehow doesn’t seem to emphasize lip lines, despite being pretty light
Do you think you’ll be indulging in it?
This is one of the few times I’m grateful to have really pale lips (it’s usually a bummer because a lot of lipsticks are completely opaque on me and have a lovely sheerness on other people) because Mutine actually looks like a soft pink on my lips. I absolutely love it! This may just be my gateway into collecting more coco shines.
Yay!!
