Chanel Sakura (87) Joues Contraste Blush ($43.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a light-medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and gold sparkle strewn over a satin finish. Giorgio Armani Eccentrico (LE, $88.00) is more shimmery. Urban Decay Overexposed (LE) is darker. Edward Bess Filled with Desire (P, $43.00) is lighter. MAC Royal Sunset (LE, $21.00) is warmer. MAC Launch Away (LE, $21.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches.

Sakura is a new and limited edition shade that’s exclusive to Chanel.com (it may also be in Chanel boutiques, but the information I have says online only, so you might call to see if a physical location is near to you). It had more buildable color payoff, and it seemed to build up to semi-opaque color coverage at most, which is in line with how it’s described (“buildable coverage”). The texture was soft, finely-milled, and a smidgen powdery when applying, but on the skin, it seems to melt and smooth out so it doesn’t look powdery or dry on the cheeks. It was very easy to blend and soften the edges as I applied it as a blush. The color wore well for almost eight hours before it began to fade around the edges.

Yes, it was buildable. It is sparkly, though it didn’t seem super glittery to me? I didn’t really see any sparkles on the cheeks! I’m medium skin tone, and you can definitely see it on my cheeks! If it wasn’t buildable, there would be no hope for this on my skin tone.

Hmmm, it looks pretty but maybe just a little to sheer. I hate the idea of having to build my blush when there are so any formulas that as super pigmented and only need the slightest touch of a brush. Either way, I find it hard to resist Chanel, especially when you give it such a good rating. I just wish I could see it in person. Hmmmm there is a 80% chance ill be ordering it…lol

I actually have five Chanel blushes and I really love them. I have Frivole, Fleur de Lotus, Horizon, Mocha and Rose Bronze. Of those four, Rose Bronze is the only one I would consider sheer, maybe Mocha too, but the colors are so beautiful. Their cream blushes are anything but sheer, and I can’t wait for the summer one I’ve seen sneak peeks off.

I just ordered this blush yesterday without seeing your review and I am glad I did and excited to receive it. Stunning color. Thanks for the review, no buyers remorse for me.

I purchased my first Chanel Joues Contrast in Accent many months ago and love the subtlety of it. The only problem I have is with the scent. It smells faintly of roses at first, and as months pass, becomes almost musty smelling.

This looks like a very good, everyday go-to blush, and i’m glad it is for the price consumers will pay for it- but for me its a bit too…generic for the price range, and i’m trying to be good with my money this year! Does MAC’s well dressed blush look anything like this, Christine?

That is so beautiful! I can normally put myself off a more extravagant purchase by looking at the dupes and comparison swatches but nothing seems to compare. Absolutely beautiful colour, and it suits you so well! Going to HAVE to get my hands on this!!!

I have this and I think it’s gorgeous! I thought it seem to have be on the cooler side when I swatched it, but now that I look at yours, it does seem to have a warm yellow undertone. So weird!
