Chanel Rose des Vents (94) Illusion d'Ombre Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Chanel Rose des Vents (94) Illusion d’Ombre Eyeshadow ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a sparkling, shimmering medium pink with warm undertones and a frosted finish. Sephora Star-Crossed Lovers (103) (P) is lighter. Sleek MakeUP Sunset #12 (P, $9.99) is less glittery. Chanel Pink Lagoon (LE, $34.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Scratch (P, $18.00) is warmer, less glittery. See comparison swatches. I wouldn’t consider Chanel Impulsion a dupe, as it is much lighter.

It’s a new and limited edition shade released online in the Jardin de Camelias collection. It had semi-opaque color coverage, but it’s a product that seemed to do best as a light wash of sparkle/shimmer than a solid, opaque eyeshadow. The color wore well for eight and a half hours, but there was noticeable fall out after six and a half hours that worsened over a ten-hour period. The consistency was soft, velvety, and smooth, despite the abundance of sparkle.

Oooo, this looks pretty, and a lot like the make up look you as as a front picture! Shame about the fall out- in the pot it looked a lot more red toned, and i liked the thought of that as there are very few red toned eyeshadow related products that actually work- but this is obviously pink.

Not eyeshadow related, but eyebrow… your brows look amazing in this post!! Do you pluck, wax or thread? And are these photos shopped at all? So clean and stray-free!! 🙂

This looks great on you – very simple and pretty! I know some people find the reddishness in this sort of colour unflattering – do you think there’s a rule as to what kind of skintones can pull it off?

I love how true pink the colour is on the eye – it’s a shame about the fallout, but if I’m truthful, that’s the part of Chanel Illusion d’Ombre that I harness!

I have Fantasme (admittedly, it’s not coloured) – and I swipe a little bit along my cheekbones and collarbones if I’m going out somewhere really special – I get nothing but rave compliments, despite the fact that what I’m essentialld doing is smearing pure glitter over myself!

I guess I wouldn’t get quite the same reaction if I started doing it with Mirifique or Epatant… 😀

I love the colors. I have the UD and Sleek dupes though 🙂

On another note, is it just me or does the UD dupe (Scratch) look way pink? My old Scratch (before they reformulated) looks more of a light pink than medium pink. I’m the same skin tone as you, Christine.

I love this one, but the fallout is disappointing. I have a fear of mirrors (I know, it’s super weird) so after I do my makeup in the morning I’m very unlikely check it throughout the day. So I need to be able to trust my products won’t migrate. Bummer.

I am totally into pink shadows lately and now I guess I have another must-have on my list. I’m loving the shiny finish and the beautiful, soft color of this one. My wallet is going to hate me, tho!

The texture is the most disappointing aspect of this shadow. It’s texture leans more spongy than creamy (almost dried out), that leads the shadow to ball up when you go to apply, which in turn effects the pigmentation and perhaps the wear.
