I purchased this after the swatches were posted but before the full review was published. When I saw the "C" rating I was so disappointed, but then I noticed that the low rating seemed to be mostly due to the pigmentation. When my order arrived I decided to give it a try - I think it's great! I am very fair, so this definitely shows up, while still looking natural and not too metallic or sparkly. I've been wanting an Illusion d'Ombre for a long time but many are too dark or too glittery for a fair person, especially to wear to work. I am very pleased with this product! I do use a primer underneath if I know I will be wearing it all day.

This was my 2nd Illusion d'ombre purchase (Illusoire was my first). This is a bit trickier for me to wear - the reddish brown can make my eyes look tired or irritated if I'm not careful to build up the colour. But this is a beautiful shadow if I apply it correctly or if I use it as a base under other browns/neutrals.

Yes, this is pricey and yes, it takes a bit of work to get the colour to build up and yes, the brush it comes with is pretty useless (fingers work better) but this is SUCH a beautiful eye shadow. The glitter in it is fine and "refined" looking. The purple/taupe/grey shade is just my sort of thing. And I find this shade wears really well. GORGEOUS and actually worth the price.
