Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque
Chanel Ming Rouge Allure Laque ($32.00) is the fourth to drool over in our seven days of Chanel Rouge Allure Laque feature.
Ming is a soft, medium pink that runs just a little warm, but overall, I’d consider neutral. It’s just this perfect girly pink that’s feminine, soft, and very, very wearable. This is a shade you could wear anywhere, anytime, and for any occasion. I could easily see this being a go-to for a quick slip of everyday color that looks gorgeous and lasts for hours. I found Ming has the least staying power, but I still was able to get through a light meal with minimal fading (mostly just the glossiness fades). It’s not as opaque as deeper shades like Coromandel and Dragon, but it’s still quite pigmented on my lips and covers up most of my natural lip color. What I like is that even though it’s very light, my natural lip color doesn’t seem to drag the color down at all–it looks very much as it does in the tube as it does on my lips.
Since I don’t want to just re-write what I say about the formula (since it is the same–if there are any variations, you can be sure I’ll call them out), here’s a quick bullet-point summary.
Pros
- Satiny, creamy lip color that hydrates
- Opaque color in one layer–very pigmented
- Lasts for hours and even through eating/drinking
- Glossy sheen
- Looks like a lipstick AND a gloss
- Easy to travel with
- Sleek packaging
Cons
- Pricey at $32 each
- Product: 28/30
- Value: 8/10
- Ease of Use: 5/5
- Packaging: 4/5
Recommendation: If you’re all about the pink lip, check this one out!

This is so pretty. I need it. But $32?…maybe in a couple weeks.
Hopefully you’ll be able to snag it in a few weeks 🙂
That is a beautiful color… if I could afford these I would get Ming and Dragon in a second. *sigh* Maybe as a present…
Definitely put ’em on your wish list, Katie! They’re permanent 🙂
I like this color. I would be getting Dragon, Santal and Ming. Thank you for this post;
Awesome! Santal is gorgeous 🙂
Oh if i wasnt trying to kick my pink lip habit Id be all over this one. That Santal shade is looking pretty good….
Santal is LOVELY!
I NEED Ming and Dragon. I just wish that it didnt cost $64 for two lip products… But it does seem worth it.
LOL! I know what you mean. At least these are permanent so you can think about it 🙂
So pretty. Ming is adorable.
I know! It’s just that understated shade you can wear anytime.
Very pretty! And is appropriate for everyday.
Exactly 😀
I own Ming and totally agree with you. This is a color I find myself reaching for everyday. Such a pretty color. Thanks Christine!
No problem, Tami! Happy you’re enjoying Ming!
Thank you for the review. I wouldn’t know about this one if you didn’t post about it. 🙂 Any suggestions for a dupe? 😉
No problem! No dupes really stand out in mind, actually!
Darn… this looks beautiful!
But the price… *flails*
LOL.
Yes, it’s definitely pricey. I tell myself it’s a lipstick + gloss combo, so it’s not THAT insane. Plus, it’s Chanel, and a glossimer is what, $27? SO it’s not that outlandish (as far as Chanel goes!).
i’d like to try it but right now i am not in the market. i have way too much stuff to use before i buy again. maybe i should go on a 100 pan.
If you do, good luck!
Beautiful beautiful colors, I love them all:)
That’s such a beautiful colour.. But is it just me, or did it settle into the lips in a strange way? It doesn’t look as clean or smooth as the others you’ve swatched.
Oh well, maybe it’s just me.
Btw, do you think that many of these colours will work for most skin tones? I sometimes have a problem finding bright colours that don’t look clownish on my light, yellow/olive/neutral skin tone that is prone to facial redness from getting flushed all the time.
Hey Ashley,
I think this is the lightest shade, so since my natural lip color shows through a bit more, I wonder if that’s why it looks like it’s settled into lines more!
I do think that these colors are, overall, universal. Chanel did a good job making shades that aren’t strictly for warm/cool tones!
oh man. i might have to get this one too!
Oh no! 😛
I think this is the most wearable for me of the 4 you’ve shown thus far.
I stick to nude/pink lipcolor & this is perfect.
Great review Christine!
No problem, Nicole! I’m really happy Chanel put out two more everyday shades within the line!
I need!!!!!!!!!
Get it!
Ming is the most beautiful shade ever … but I just cannot spend 32 € on this 🙁 yea .. it’s € for me …
It’s very pricey 🙁
This is my favorite pink/nude lip item! And I just lost it! I have no idea where it went and I used it like half hour ago…this is driving me crazy…you know the feeling of losing your favorite lipstick! Sorry for being a crying baby over a lipstick, but this one is my #1 at the moment. I need to buy a replacement ASAP. 🙂
Happy to hear you’re in love with Ming! I adore the formula. Ming is such a great everyday shade!
i just bought #76 ming today! it’s amazing! completely worth the $32 pricer tag!
it covers super pigmented lips VERY well! 🙂
i’m going to pick up phoenix tomorrow!
Hi,
Just wanted everyone to know that I found these on Ebay for $19.99 plus $2.50 shipping…the seller is ach12. This person is right in NYC so I got mine in one day! Saved $14 since Chanel charges $32 plus tax…I bought Santal, Dynastie and probably going to get the rest for this price…
OH My Goodness this is gorgeous. SHantal & Ming are definite must haves.
Do you know of any dupes for Ming? I looked in ‘The Dupe List’ but didn’t see anything. Thanks!
I don’t know of any dupes, sorry!
omg Ming is sooo pretty i want! ^^
