Chanel Lumieres de Kyoto Harmonie de Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Lumieres de Kyoto
Chanel Lumieres de Kyoto Harmonie de Blush ($70.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark coral with warm, orange undertones and a gold shimmer strewn through a mostly matte finish.
The formula is supposed to “highlight, enhance and boost radiance for a luminous look” and consists of three shades–a soft, shimmery beige, muted coral-red, and light beige. The consistency was dusty and drier for me, which resulted in product not adhering as well to my arm (which is drier than my face) and looking noticeably powdery. It had semi-sheer, buildable coverage that looked better when I patted and buffed it onto my cheeks. It could have been a little more blendable for me, though, as it took some extra work to diffuse the edges when I tried it on my cheeks. The blush lasted for seven and a half hours before fading on me.

Oh thank goodness. I was actually hoping this would get a bad grade because I just can NOT shell out for another beautiful limited edition chanel product right now. Thank you for saving me, Christine. <3
Sure thing, Ceebee! 🙂
I’m actually quite glad that this didn’t get such a good review – I really want something from this year’s CHANEL holiday collection but I think I’m going to pass!
Silver lining!
I saw this previously in the swatch gallery and went uh-oh. Looked very clumpy, and was clinging to any dry skin. For $ 70, needs to score an A. It’s a shame that Chanel doesn’t seem to care enough about quality to issue something like this
The texture was a bummer 🙁
I agree completely.
For $70, this product should have done my makeup for me for a year (ok, maybe a month)…not rated a C.
I was surprised it wasn’t silkier in texture!
Oh dear. This one pretty much blows for that amount of dough. I am loving the Codes one SO much more for a blush, tbh. I really wish like mad that THIS one would’ve been better quality, because I love the actual shade itself.
Coco Codes was much better!
I like the concept, but the execution is kind of “meh” to me.
I wish the texture was better!
This is a bit expensive for how it performs! So oooooooh happy I convinced myself to not order it when I took the highlighter! (now I hope this one isn’t a dud.. Lol).
The CT dupe is lovely?
Hope you like the highlighter!
Just tried it today and it isn’t disappointing! I am relieved ?.
The texture of the highlighter ressemble the dior garden highlighters one. I need a denser brush to be able to pick up product.
too bad ! it looks from the swatch that it is dusty 🙁
It does! 🙁
Easy pass. I have one of these LE blushes from a previous release (the ribbons one) and I just don’t need another massive blush that I will never use up!
Good call, J 🙂
Wow, I’m very surprised that you rated this a C. I found this blush to be just gorgeous. Had no trouble blending it nor did I find it powdery. It’s a beautiful, unusual color that gives my skin a very natural sun flushed look. I look healthy and alive without it screaming “I’m wearing blush!” More alive than just a bronzer, more natural than a blush. I also love that it is luminous without being glittery or sparkly, something my middle aged skin can do without.
I don’t have any issues with the color, but mine had a disappointing texture!
My experience resembles yours. A very unique blush shade and glowy look overall. Am giddy to have it. CT’s Esctacy is darker, more matte on my skintone. I’m wearing it now and wish I had that Chanel blush to brighten my look. Enjoy!
Love the color but that’s a disappointing product for the price. I’d had high hopes. I’m surprised Chanel released something so dry! Usually the hallmark of their blush and luminizers is the blendability so it’s really disappointing!
I thought with Coco Codes being good this one was going to follow suit!
Pretty shades, but a tad average for the price.
Agreed!
I really like the color and thankfully I have a few of the dupes, so this will be an easy pass. I’d have a difficult time using a ‘palette’ like this because I like for colors to be in their own separate wells. I don’t know whether it’s because I don’t like blurring the design/colors, or if it’s because I don’t want the colors to run together on my brush . . .not sure. There was a beautiul shadow? quad? they put out that was textured and had different threads of color – golds and browns – that I can’t see myself ever using for the same reason.
I can’t see myself using the bottom third alone, but the first two are doable. I think I actually like mixing the most, lol!
What a shame that such a pretty color doesn’t have the quality to go with it.
Agreed!
So disappointing… I nearly pulled the trigger on this the moment you posted it. And the color is so good! What a shame about the quality. 🙁
I wish the texture was smoother!
Another beautiful LE release with poor quality ahhh! Why must companies do this?
From Chanel I’m expecting almost perfection in terms of quality and presentation. Apart from its poor quality, this particular blush does not do justice to its name; the Kyoto Lights Festival theme could have been better exploited in terms of shade selection and delicacy.
I adore this Harmony Blush. The blush shade is more of a rosebud on my skintone and very pigmented. The highlight shade creates a beautiful sheen, especially where it overlaps the blush shade. It is dusty, though I chalk it up to the plastic cover that houses the brush, which needs to be removed to access the compact. I’m very pleased with it despite the low rating.
I’m glad you lkove yours, Tracey!
Fun name. Too bad it’s not all that.
Hmm, pretty palette, slightly disappointing performance ?. Don’t like how the powder stays on top of the skin.
I had a strong feeling that this one was gonna be a dud!
Just praying I can get my hands on the upcoming Camélia highlighter!! I have a friend who was just in Paris and she even checked Chanel boutiques there for me, but no dice. I hope you get word on it soon and can share with us when it will be released!
i few seasons ago i purchased the chanel powder that was beige with 2 orange C’s in the middle. I cant remember the name but I know you reviewed it. It was supposed to be a finishing powder but its so dry its hard to get anything on the brush. It seems like this product is the same with the exception of the middle orange stripe. I wish Chanel would be a little more innovative and creative with their limited edition products. They are so beautiful, but they dont always wear well…
I think you need to use the right brush with this blush, not too fluffy and neither too dense. For me it works perfectly with my Chikuhodo T4 cheek brush and I have used as well as an easy monochromatic look – great as eyeshadow combi ? I love products that allow me to create a quick look when not knowing what to go for on a day ?
