Chanel Imperial (73) Rouge Allure Lacque
The Sultry Season: Chanel Imperial (73) Rouge Allure Laque
Chanel Imperial (73) Rouge Allure Laque ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a rich shade of rusted red with just a touch of berry. Rusted berry sounds weird, but perhaps that’s a more apt description than rusted red! It has subtle pink and gold micro-shimmer. It’s completely opaque, and it makes lips look lush — it has the color payoff of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss. Rouge Allure Laques are one of my favorite products, and I’m reminded of that every time I put one on. I get around four to five hours of wear with shade in particular–plus a residual stain.
Is this the right berry for you? Would you wear it?
The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through October 2010.
This color is so good on your lip.
Thanks so much, Wi!
i forgot how amazing the rouge allure laques are! it’s like a two-in-one product of lipstick and lip gloss, so for that reason, i think it is worth the price. the ysl rouge voluptes used to be my HG lipstick, but i think this takes the trophy of being my HG lipstick.
btw i think it looks amazing on you! the color is not too bold, not to boring, just perfect!
I know, right? I forget, too, and I’m like, OOH COME TO ME! every time I put one on.
Thank you!
Imperial look so perfect on you 🙂
Thanks, Neli! 🙂
I might check out these rouge allure lippies tomorrow, I think i might buy one new lipstick. If not this then perhaps Dior serum de rouge or guerlain rouge g. Although the boy is coming with me and I dunno how long he will want to walk around make up counters! He starts looking bored and i can’t enjoy my make up perusal! Although in fairness I can amuse myself for hours swatching!
LOL! I am lucky – the Apple store is right next to Nordstrom 😉 So I send mine there!
Do they dry your lips?
Nope, not at all!
That color fits you really good!
Thanks a lot, Kajsa!
it is INSANE how EVERY lip colour suits you christine! brb, jealous forever.
😛 Thanks, Hiromi!
Not a shade I’d chose, but looking at the photos it’s stunning !
Wow! I really love this one, i think is my right color for a nice dinner
omg I have this shade – it was my first RA Lacque purchase! I love that it’s dramatic but doesn’t overwhelm my face or my super-fair skin.
i like this colour.. looks gorgeous on you…
Thanks, Pam!
I’m partial to shade #74 Dynastie– but LOVE the RA Laques as well. Thanks for swatching this colour as I’m hoping to purchase more soon 🙂
I just bought and returned this last week after lemming it for months. The color is so rich and interesting, but the formula dried out my lips and also bled within an hour. I was so sad.
Oh no! 🙁 I’m so sorry about that, Becca!!
Any time Chanel makes a color like this…I’m in love. It reminds me of the lipstick colors my grandma would wear. So I instantly find it classy and gorgeous.
So tempted to go to the store and get one…I don’t have any lip shade in that color.
I love this color!
whoa, your eyes look good in this picture!
Thanks, Anna!
This is so pretty! I really need to try some of these Chanel lippies. Most of the colors I’ve seen have been nothing short of gorgeous.
Also, this particular shade looks fantastic on you!
Thank you, Kathy! 🙂
This is a very nice color on you and very nice color over all. Loving the sultry season.
Thank you!
This color is absolutely gorgeous, and it looks amazing on you! Is there a MAC equivalent of this shade that you can recommend?
Maybe Spice It Up, but I think that might be darker.
What an amazing color!! It looks fab on you,Christine.
Thanks, Cathy!
woah, another great color! not too red, not too brown, not too cool, not too warm …georgeous!
i should avoid visiting your hp here 🙂
Nina
Gorgeous! I love it
This is the best lipstick on you hands down
Thanks, Sarah!
*Drools over colour* Oh my god, gorgeous. You and the lipstick, of course. *Dies at price* Any comparable colours of the MAC (or otherwise)variety?
Can’t think of any 🙁
