Chanel Dzhari & Sahara Glossimers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Dzhari (608) Aqua Glossimer
Chanel Dzhari (608) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is described as a “purple red.” It’s a medium-dark, reddish plum with subtle, warmer undertones and fine pink and gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and less tacky compared to most Glossimers, which seems in line with how Chanel’s described the summer’s iterations of glosses as being more “water-like.” It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating. MAC Courting Chic (LE, $20.00)(95% similar). YSL Devour Me Plum (P, $32.00) is cooler (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Black Ruby (P, $24.00) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Triomphal (LE, $32.00) is darker, brighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Gash (DC, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, more pigmented (85% similar). MAC Hell Bound (LE, $21.00) is warmer (85% similar). Chanel Chene Rouge (212) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). Dior Ruby Essence (778) (LE, $30.00) is more muted (85% similar). Giorgio Armani #200 Night Berry (P, $38.00) is less shimmery, darker, more pigmented (85% similar). ColourPop Clock Tower (LE, $8.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). Hourglass Impact (P, $30.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Make Up For Ever 405P Pearly Plum (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Sahara (610) Aqua Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is described as a “peach.” It’s a light-medium, peachy-pink with fine gold and lighter gold shimmer. It had semi-sheer coverage, and due to the lighter coloring, it tended to lighten my natural lip color while adding warmth, but it may look quite different depending on your natural lip color as it is a sheerer gloss. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and comfortable to wear, though it only lasted for three hours on me. Though dupable, it is ultimately an easy-to-wear gloss if you like warmer shimmer and shine, and it can, of course, be layered over another lip color to add shimmer and shine as well. MAC NUDE (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Dynasty at Dusk (P, $20.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Sephora Peek-a-boo Pink (13) (P, $12.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Stoke the Flame (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Rose Gold (P, $30.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Buxom Chloe (DC, $20.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop PS (DC, $10.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Anastasia Girly (P, $16.00) is cooler (90% similar). NARS Orgasm (P, $26.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop Imperial (LE, $8.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Nymphette (P, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Sephora Fresh Peach (07) (P, $12.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl (P, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). NARS Greek Holiday (P, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk (LE, $32.00) is darker, less pigmented (90% similar). MAC Prrr (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop Atole (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Pat McGrath Sunset Rose (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). Dior Ever Dior (643) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (85% similar). Cle de Peau Modern Pink (2) (P, $48.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. Dzhari is such a pretty color. I’m too shy to wear red lipstick, but I occasionally wear red gloss (less pigmented), and this one is just gorgeous.
Do you think this is one you’ll check out, Christina? Or do you have something like it already?
I’ll probably check it out. I have just a couple of red glosses one one red liquid lipstick that I never touch! It takes courage to wear red! 🙂
Beautiful lip glosses Dzhari is a gorgeous shade. 🙂
It is!
The red gloss has in interesting watery finish, but I think your eye look stole the show! I think I need to swatch the Chanel quad in store to see the glowy finish, hope I don’t fall in love
Keep me posted on whether you end up trying the quad, Katherine!
That quad has you too, huh Katherine? I have a really weird feeling we will both wind up buying that one! LoL
Me three! Haha!
Both are very pretty!
They are!
So are the Aqua Glossimers a new product altogether? Do you know if they’re here to stay or if they’re just limited edition for the summer?
They are all limited edition. Nordstrom has them listed under the regular Glossimer line, but the press release called them out as Aqua Glossimer. I am guessing similar to Aqualumieres, but these are not as smooth. The Aqua Glossimers do have a different doe-foot, though.
You’re doing that desert thing again. Gorgeous. As to these, Glossimers have been a very nice range, but some shades turn over too quickly. Ah, the vagaries of fashion….
I wish they had a more distinct numbering system for say, sheer, shimmer, opaque, etc. because the Glossimer formula drives me batty – I never know what to expect!
Even though these 2 lip glosses don’t exactly “move” me in either direction; I really might have to get this eye shadow quad you’ve been rocking out!!! Scary thing is, I may have dupes scattered throughout my stash, but I doubt that what I have would ever have that perfectly melded together, liquidy look of molten metal! Ah, TF Honeymoon may need to be put on hold…I just don’t know?!?
Oooh, what a tough decision! They are both warmer quads but so different…
The pictures on some sites drive me nuts! On the Chanel site, Dzhari looks dark purple.
I love the color as it shows up on your site!
It’s definitely a redder/plummy color to me, in person and in photos!
Dzhari is so pretty but I have the red on from the last holiday collections so I’ll probably refrain from picking this one up…. maybe… it’s so pretty… LOL
lol! 🙂
Dzahari is beautiful! I like Sahara but prefer the effect of CdP Modern Pink.
I can totally see why! I think Cle de Peau’s is a much more amped up version!
Dzhari is so pigmented. Looks lovely on you, Christine, although I’m totally stunned by your vibrant and whimsical earrings!
Thank you, Tracey! 🙂
Dzhari caught my eye, it’s such a summery way to be vampy. I’m not sure I’ll try it. I haven’t tried Chanel gloss in a while, so I might need to apply at counter and see how my lips fare with it.
It is a nice contrast for summer, I think!
I’m almost positive Sahara is a repromote. I think I’ve bought it previously. I’m not thrilled with Chanel glosses overall….too sheer.
Hm, I am not sure. Supposedly, this is a newer formula “Aqua” Glossimer!
I really like Sahara! Might pick it up if I’m at Chanel in the near future ?
Yay!
