Chanel Dialogue and Fiction Rouge Coco Shines Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Dialogue Rouge Coco Shine
Chanel Dialogue Rouge Coco Shine ($34.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a subtly warm-toned, medium red. I think it’s almost neutral, so if you have a cooler complexion, it may read more neutral to neutral-cool. It had semi-opaque color payoff and yielded a good amount of color while having a slight translucency that gave it a lighter-weight look on the lips (true to the Rouge Coco Shine texture, feel, and look). It lasted four hours, which is good for a Shine in experience. Revlon Wild Watermelon is a bit lighter. Chanel Amant is slightly warmer. Guerlain Coque d’Or is more shimmery. Dior Lady is similar. See comparison swatches.
Fiction Rouge Coco Shine ($34.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a pinky-berry with cool undertones. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a light translucency, so the natural lip color will still influence the overall color that you see. It lasted around four hours on me. MAC Lush Life is darker. MAC Scan-delicious is pinker. Guerlain Lou-Ling is similar. Guerlain Pour Troubler is also similar. Guerlain Guet-Apens is darker. See comparison swatches.
These are two of eight new shades being added to the Rouge Coco Shine formula range, and the new shades are specifically designed to be more pigmented (“colour-rich”), as the Rouge Coco Shine formula normally has sheer color (by choice). The consistency is lightweight, creamy, and slick–it feels like a lip balm and lipstick hybrid, so it’s emollient and can slide around a bit. I didn’t have any issues with either of these deeper shades feathering or bleeding, though. They were lightly moisturizing, but Rouge Coco Shines are never quite as hydrating as touted for me.

The colours look lovely. I might give Chanel make-up one more chance…but truth be told the quality for me personally has always been a complete let down.
I like these, but they do tend to wear shorter than average, so that may be a drawback!
I really love Fiction – it makes me ready for autumn!
It is very autumn-like!
These two are very pretty, I remember swatching them, although in the end I went for Suspense Coco shine from the same collection, actually that one is the lipstick the model wears in the promotional advertisement. It would be interesting to see your opinion on that one Christine 😀 .
Nice pick!
Ahh I’m so jealous, Christine–you really can pull off warm or cool shades! I usually don’t like cool-toned lip products but Fiction is so amazing on you! It really sets off you dark hair and lovely complexion 🙂
Thank you, Becca!
hehe, it’s funny how they looks very alike on the lips, only the undertones differ the most. they look miles apart in the tube 😀 I love this juicy look on lipsticks but of course, I wouldn’t buy them cause of the price and the fact they’re not that moisturizing.
you look VERY nice in reds and berries 😀
Thanks, Artemis!
These look so juicy… very pretty shades too
They have a very nice glossy shine that gives them a juicier look! Plus, berry-ish!
Dialogue looks really nice on you!
Thanks, Xero!
