Chanel Daydream (174) Glossimer Review, Photos, Swatches

Chanel Daydream Glossimer
Chanel Daydream Glossimer

Chanel Daydream Glossimer ($29.50 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is described as an “intense metallic fuchsia.” It’s a fuchsia-red with fuchsia and silver sparkle. Guerlain Cherry Swing is lighter and has gold shimmer, but they are similar applied. MAC Totally Fab is redder. Lancome Sienne Ultime is slightly redder and less shimmery/glossy.

This spring, Chanel’s refreshed the Glossimer range with a few new shades, and Daydream is one of them. The Glossimer range is intended to vary from “simply sheer … to intense” with “subtle sheen to sparkly metallic [finishes].” Beyond that, the formula is supposed to be conditioning  comfortable to wear, and long-wearing. For those who have lamented over the lack of color in Chanel’s recent limited edition Glossimer releases, you’ll appreciate the semi-opaque color coverage of Daydream. It’s richer in color and still has plenty of sparkle to dance and glimmer in the light, while the color itself isn’t too red or fuchsia, and the result is something slightly muted and balanced between the two. Daydream lasted five hours on me, which was an hour above average. It’s lightly hydrating, comfortable to wear, non-sticky, and never gets gritty (and the sparkle doesn’t travel).

This is gorgeous. Almost makes me want to pay the 30 bucks! I’ve been waiting to find a great color to try one of these but for that much money it has to be striking. I love it.

Hi Christine,
First I want to say you do such a fab job overall and especially with lippie reviews of all kinds. I like that you venture across a wide spectrum of colors, textures, etc. But I gotta say, THIS is your color! With your skin tone, this looks like it was custom made for you. So if you’re ever wondering exactly what looks the best on you, it is this color.

I’m sorry this isn’t related at all, but what concealer are you wearing under your eyes? Whatever it is I need it! You look so fresh and well rested haha!

I’m the type of person who absolutely hates lipgloss…so much so, that I barely own any at all. But — I think these are great. I love how much they sparkle in the sun and they are just tacky enough to last several hours. <3

This is truly beautiful and I linked from your site to Nordstroms because I had to have this and….the color that here says daydream actually looks nothing like the daydream on the Nordstrom site. The color desir looks exactly like it though. Daydream is more purply than fushia.
Do you know where the mistake lies? Like, did they mislabel the one they sent you or is the stie wrong? I really would love to get this. It’s just curious and I want to get this color that you have shown us here. Thank you!!!

Hey Terri!

Not sure why the colors are off, but Desir came out with the Roses collection in February last year I believe – and isn’t part of the permanent range (or any of the new shades that were added), so it shouldn’t be a shade they’d send. The gloss I received came in a box labeled 174 Daydream along with the bottom label of the Glossimer with 174! All the labels on my gloss are normal, final labels (not sample labeling or lab labeling). Chanel’s site has the same image of Daydream that Nordstrom has, so my guess is just that the photo looks off but it is the same gloss.

This color is gorgeous 😀 , it´s one of the three glossimers I have been looking forward to, I adore the sparkle, how rich and how luxurious it looks. I´m glad this aren´t limited edition because I can only afford one right now, maybe this could be the one, but I still have to see Rose Sauvage and Savage Grace before deciding 😛 .

Just got this last night because it was SO BEAUTIFUL in your posts and I passed the chanel counter and got sucked in haha. I usually despise glosses but this one is very nice! Love the fuschia a himmer, and its very comfortable to wear and best of all, NOT sticky or gloppy! Thanks for the greatreview Christine!!! 🙂
