Color Club Beyond Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
Color Club Beyond Nail Lacquer
Color Club Beyond Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is a deep, warm, smoky gray-black with holographic shimmer. The closest shade I could think of was Rescue Beauty Lounge Anne, which is slightly greener and not-so-holographic.
Beyond applied beautifully–I had no trouble with application at all, and sometimes holographic polishes can be tricky to apply. It went on fluidly, evenly, and didn’t emphasize ridges or anything like that. It didn’t dry as fast as other holographics but did dry faster than the average polish did. The holographic effect is insane–it happens at nearly every angle and there’s plenty go around; you won’t feel like you have to get your nails at just the right angle in just the right light to see it. You’ll be hard-pressed to find an angle where it isn’t shimmering in a rainbow of delight. Â It was fully opaque in two coats (and nearly opaque in a single one!) and didn’t pool, bubble, or streak. Â I typically get a week of wear out of Color Club’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

That’s gorgeous.
Gorgeous, and what a great price!
Hrm, I wonder how it compares to their Revvvolution lacquer from a few years ago? This looks like it’s an improved version of Revvvolution, like a re-think and mulligan. Either way… **throws money at the screen** IT MUST BE MINE!
Ditto! and I love Revvvolution; therefore, this bad boy will be mine *evil laugh*
If it’s of any use, I’ve got Revvvolution, and Beyond is actually different enough to warrant buying. Revvvolution is more of a slate grey when compared to Beyond – Beyond is definitely the charcoal cousin.
I do love a holo though, so I might be biased in my argument that it’s worth buying both! 😉
Wow very nice! I love seeing more unique polishes out there!
Miss Bliss, from the same collection, is amazing too. It’s a hyper-holo pinky purple.
This is UNREAL! It looks so good, almost like nail stickers because the holographic effect is so real 🙂
I wish I could paint my nails as well as you!!
They are always perfect 😀 This is so beautiful too
Seems like an amped up revvvolution. LOVE it!
Absolutely stunning color! I haven’t heard much of Color Club but thanks to your review, I am definitely going to check it out! 😀
By the way, how long do you usually wait to let your nail polish dry completely? I have this problem of getting fabric lines on them when I go to sleep after I put on nail polish (even if I wait 2 hours or so for 2-3 coatings). Any tips?
Thank you!!!
Hi Svea,
I apply a quick dry top coat or treatment (I use Zoya’s Color Lock System, so base coat, color, top coat, fast drying drops at the end), so I’m fine maybe half hour or so later?
I like Seche Vite’s fast dry top coat. I apply it when my polish is still wet, and I’m set to go to bed in about 5 minutes with no sheet lines.
Wow! That’s the best nail polish I’ve seen in awhile on this site! Now if only I could grow my nails. :-/
Woohoo, amazing effect 🙂
Colour Club has pretty much perfected holo. Each and every one they released in the 2 holo collections was amazing and perfect and wonderful. Now I’m debating how crazy it would be to buy backups of them all, just in case.
Color* Canadian here, can ya tell? 😛
Ahaha, I do the same thing!
When you review a glittery polish do you include any factors about how it removes with regular polish remover in the score? I haven’t purchased a glitter polish since the 1990s because I remember it being really difficult to move the glitter.
I don’t – because you can remove any glitter polish with your remover of choice but the method is more important than the remover. And technically, the remover is the one that’s supposed to do the removing job (the polish’s job is to stay on!), so to me it would make more sense to rate a remover on that aspect. Have you tried the foil method? Or soaking nails? This is how I do it – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WfkRtMg2CQ
Oh, okay -that’s a good point. Thanks for the link!
I already have Revvvolution, but this looks like it has golden shimmer and a stronger holo. Hmm.
oh, my…..must. buy. now. This is sooooo gorgeous.
OMG. I need this in my life. I wonder how this compares to the original version of OPI’s my private jet?
I’ve got both (and actually both the old and new versions of MPJ, yes I do love a holo!) – MPJ has more of a brown hue, whereas Beyond is more of a charcoal grey.
Color Club holos seem to dry much quicker than any version of MPJ I’ve had, too.
Totally agree with this rating 🙂 Bought the set of 6 holographics from Color Club and every one of them gets compliments, starts conversations. Just a shame more folks don’t know about Color Club. OVER THE MOON(blue) is a show stopper.
I have this polish on right now! I got this last week and I love it. I only needed one coat and I did put a topcoat on but, next time I think I am going to skip it. I noticed when I was doing my nails that the shinies come through a little less with a topcoat on. (still super shiny and pretty with it though)
This is the most gorgeous black holo I’ve ever seen. It’s good to know that it is of high quality too.
Oh this is so gorgeous, to bad you have to buy online though, I never buy online…
This nail polish is brilliant, I love it!
WOW — what a holo! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one quite this noticeable 😀
*whistles*
I’m equally intriuged and repelled by holographic nail polish – part of me likes it but the other part thinks its too juvenile! Funny one aren’t I 😛
