Chanel Cheeky (79) Blush Creme de Chanel ($38.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “rose with bronze tint.” It’s a medium brown with subtle rosiness and neutral-to-warm undertones. It had a satin-mate finish when applied. Revlon Naughty Nude (006) (P, $9.99) is lighter, more shimmery, powder. Chanel Accent (84) (LE, $43.00) is more shimmery, powder. Kevyn Aucoin Natura (P) is lighter, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Regular readers will know that Chanel’s cream blush is one of my favorites (actually, if pressed, it is THE favorite). It has a cream-to-powder formulation, which means that initially, it feels like a cream blush, but as it gets applied to the skin, it becomes a powder, which means it easily blends on top of foundation or bare skin, goes on evenly and smoothly, and never looks powdery or caky. The finish is satin-matte, which gives it a very believable, natural finish that’s not too dewy or luminous, but it’s also not flat. On fairer skin tones than mine, it might work as a contour as well. It had excellent, true-to-pan color payoff that could be applied as richly or as subtly as desired. When I tested it, the color wore well for ten hours before lightly fading.

How might this compare to MAC Gingerly Sheertone? That is my holy grail color, but I’m not head-over-heels in love with the formula. This looks promising…

Hey Christine: I can’t really tell from the swatches.. as the NARS altai multiple swatch is on your lips.. Are these two similar? If I could pull up the cheek swatch, I might be able to see it a bit better. Thanks!!!!

I normally avoid brownish blushes because they could look dirty and muddy on me. Seeing Cheeky on you has definitely piqued my interest though! It looks great!

I keep opening up this page to gaze at this beautiful and unique blush shade. I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself, lol! Even though I’m fair, I’m pretty sure the rosiness in this shade will still work as a blush for me. I’m not really interested in using it as a contour. FINGERS CROSSED!

I swatched this in-store yesterday and absolutely adored it, just as I thought I would. 99% sure it’ll look very pretty on my fairer skin, especially during the summer season. I intend to buy this next month!

I saw your comment about using this as a contour on fair skin tones, but how well do you think it would work in general? I’m pretty pale, so I’m uncertain how it would look on me.

Wow! I’ve been waiting for your review for this. 🙂 Love Chanel’s cream blushes. How does Cheeky compare to Destiny? They both seem brown in the pans 🙂

Gracie Avatar

Awesome! When I swatched Destiny, it did seem too much like a bronzer. Maybe Cheeky will be what I hoped Destiny to be – a more brightening brown blush. Thanks for the tips 🙂 Can’t wait to swatch it in person! 😀

Hi Christine,

This looks great! I’m really interested in getting my first Chanel cream blush for the summer. I have a similar skin tone to yours, if you had to pick one (since they are kind of pricey!) which shade do you recommend? Or which is your favorite summer shade?

Swatched this at my Neimans counter at it was gorgeous! Glad you gave it a great rating. I always stop by your blog first before proceeding with an expensive purchase 🙂 what’s the best brush to apply this blush? This might have to be my first chanel creme blush purchase!

I think that I may have to bring Accent with me tomorrow and compare (if I have the energy to go to the mall after work! ) Ive already purchased 5 items from this collection, and am now eyeing those Dior fluid line sticks!

Do you think this would go ruddy on fair, pink-toned skin? I can wear Tarte Exposed with no issue but I wonder if this maybe has too much red?

Amalia Avatar

How does Cheeky compare to Tarte Exposed (Tarte is not available in my country) ? Or Exposed is more similar to Korres #15 Natural blush? Thank you for your time!

I usually steer clear of creme blushes (i think i own one stila convertible color) because of my combination/oily complexion, but this! It’s one of those rare reviews that you can tell from the pictures it really is an A+ product.

Can anyone with combination/oily skin type tell me if they have worked with these? Tia 🙂

I bought this, second creme blush I have purchased from Chanel, and I am so happy I did! Love the color on me, and I’m so fair I usually cannot pull off browns because they’ll turn or look muddy on me. This on is just perfection. Lasted all day, too. Makes you wonder if you can hoard a backup.

I love Chanel’s cream blushes and I have way too many of them. That being said, I snapped this right up! I think it’s interesting to note that this is the first in this line to have fragrance added to it. I’m wondering if that’s why the initial texture of the blush is different. Cheeky looks smooth like a mousse when it’s brand new while it’s siblings start with a texture pressed into it. It’s fragrance is definitely noticeable as well, though only in pan. It shouldn’t bother anyone unless their skin is reactive to it.

It smells like most Chanel products to me, roses maybe? The ingredients list clearly lists parfum as well. I wonder why they desided to start adding it?

I snagged this puppy as soon as I swatched it at the Chanel counter. Gorgeous! I should’ve bought 2 because I’ve been getting a lot of use out of it & can actually see myself running out in the near future. It’s very rare for me to finish any of my blushes because I have so damn many, but this is a staple shade for me. Love it for quick contouring that easily blends out as well. It’s such an easy product to work with!

Too bad MUF doesn’t make a decent dupe of this in their new cream blush formula.
