Chanel Cheeky (79) Le Blush Creme de Chanel Review, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Cheeky (79) Blush Creme de Chanel
Chanel Cheeky (79) Blush Creme de Chanel ($38.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “rose with bronze tint.” It’s a medium brown with subtle rosiness and neutral-to-warm undertones. It had a satin-mate finish when applied. Revlon Naughty Nude (006) (P, $9.99) is lighter, more shimmery, powder. Chanel Accent (84) (LE, $43.00) is more shimmery, powder. Kevyn Aucoin Natura (P) is lighter, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Regular readers will know that Chanel’s cream blush is one of my favorites (actually, if pressed, it is THE favorite). It has a cream-to-powder formulation, which means that initially, it feels like a cream blush, but as it gets applied to the skin, it becomes a powder, which means it easily blends on top of foundation or bare skin, goes on evenly and smoothly, and never looks powdery or caky. The finish is satin-matte, which gives it a very believable, natural finish that’s not too dewy or luminous, but it’s also not flat. On fairer skin tones than mine, it might work as a contour as well. It had excellent, true-to-pan color payoff that could be applied as richly or as subtly as desired. When I tested it, the color wore well for ten hours before lightly fading.

I bought this this morning and was hoping that it would be in the A – league. Thank you Christine for this prompt review .
No prob! xo
How might this compare to MAC Gingerly Sheertone? That is my holy grail color, but I’m not head-over-heels in love with the formula. This looks promising…
Unfortunately, I don’t think I have Gingerly! From what I can tell based on some old swatches I have (I went to the store and swatched), it seems warmer.
This looks exactly like Chanel Destiny in the pan. I am surprised you haven’t compared it to that one. Are there any differences?
Things I bought in Paris | http://theconsciencefund.com
I didn’t because they are totally different colors to me, IMO! Destiny is lighter, more orange/brown, a lot warmer – very different! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=164315&dupe=123293
Yeah Now that you have put them side-by-side I can see the difference. Cheeky is definitely more pink!
Gorgeous! This I want!
Yayy!
Hi christine! how does this compare to mac harmony blush? thanks 🙂
Harmony is more matte, and it seems a bit warmer to me!
Hey Christine: I can’t really tell from the swatches.. as the NARS altai multiple swatch is on your lips.. Are these two similar? If I could pull up the cheek swatch, I might be able to see it a bit better. Thanks!!!!
p.s. This is really fabulous!
Nevermind..I bought it regardless …teehee
Altai is less rosy, a bit lighter!
URGH it looks so good! I already have Accent, though. Do you think it’s worth having both?
They have different finishes, so I think you could justify it, but maybe it would depend on if you wear Accent a lot!
I normally avoid brownish blushes because they could look dirty and muddy on me. Seeing Cheeky on you has definitely piqued my interest though! It looks great!
The rosiness might help it work better on you!
Lovely shade…you look really very pretty Christine….:-)
Thanks, Rashmi! 🙂
Out of all the channel blushes you reviewed, this is by FAR my favorite! I love a good rosy brown.
Me too 😀
You are recommending too many things lately. I’m going to go broke. LOL
You & me both!
You and me three!
And me! This is one of those colours that everyone should have in their stash. Absolutely a winner!!
And me! My husband is right! They will never stop making pretty things. And Christine won’t stop reviewing them 🙁
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I always say that! PRETTY THINGS *_*
Count me in! )
O M G. I knew I wanted this when I saw the summer collection announcement, but now I *REALLY* want it!
Haha! I knew I had to have it!
I keep opening up this page to gaze at this beautiful and unique blush shade. I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself, lol! Even though I’m fair, I’m pretty sure the rosiness in this shade will still work as a blush for me. I’m not really interested in using it as a contour. FINGERS CROSSED!
Keep me posted! I want to know if it works out for you!
I swatched this in-store yesterday and absolutely adored it, just as I thought I would. 99% sure it’ll look very pretty on my fairer skin, especially during the summer season. I intend to buy this next month!
YAY!!
This and the orange nail polish will be mine 😀
Thanks Christine!
No prob, Karina! 🙂
🙂 I have a doubt, what do you use to apply cream blushes? Because I have some problems aplyingin them on my cheeks with my fingers hehe.
I use MAC’s 131 or 159!
I think I need this!!!!!
Enjoy!!
I saw your comment about using this as a contour on fair skin tones, but how well do you think it would work in general? I’m pretty pale, so I’m uncertain how it would look on me.
As a blush or as a contour? I think it works either way, but I could see it working for contouring on lighter complexions (it gets lost on mine as a contour).
As a blush.
Also, it looks beautiful on you!
Wow! I’ve been waiting for your review for this. 🙂 Love Chanel’s cream blushes. How does Cheeky compare to Destiny? They both seem brown in the pans 🙂
Destiny is lighter, more orange/brown, a lot warmer – very different! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=164315&dupe=123293
Thanks for the prompt reply! Which would work better for a warm skintone? 🙂
I like Cheeky, actually, because the rosiness makes it look less like a bronzer on!
Awesome! When I swatched Destiny, it did seem too much like a bronzer. Maybe Cheeky will be what I hoped Destiny to be – a more brightening brown blush. Thanks for the tips 🙂 Can’t wait to swatch it in person! 😀
I love Korres’ Natural which is discontinued and/or difficult to find in the states, and this reminds me of it – brown but not bronzer, which I use often for a natural blush that works with EVERYTHING!
Hi Christine,
This looks great! I’m really interested in getting my first Chanel cream blush for the summer. I have a similar skin tone to yours, if you had to pick one (since they are kind of pricey!) which shade do you recommend? Or which is your favorite summer shade?
Oh, this is difficult! They’re all fantastic. Color wise… Presage or Intonation!
That shade is so lovely on you, but I fear it would be too warm for me. Might have to try it out, though. Have to admit, I was distracted by that beautiful gloss!
There’s some rosiness in it that might make it workable for you 🙂
Oh my! How stunning! Shame it doesn’t have a cheaper dupe.
Hopefully a budget-friendly brand will come out with a formula like this! I find MUFE HD Blush and Illamasqua’s Velvet blushes to be similar in formula, so there’s hope!
Hm, I don’t think the colour would suit me very well!
Aww!
Ohmy, cannot wait for this to release at my counter!
I’m really loving it!
I really like this shade but feel it would be lost on my NC50 skin tone. Do you have a darker, rosey/brown recommendation?
I wish I did, but I really don’t 🙁
This is at the top of my list, just waiting for the collection to arrive. I’ll probably apply Accent over it. 🙂
Sounds like a good plan 🙂
Oh I’m liking this! Can you please tell me how you apply the blush? Better with a brush or fingers?
I usually use MAC’s 131 or 159 these days for cream blushes, then maybe a little bit of blending with fingertips at the end!
Not my color (I think) but texture and formula-wise this sounds really great!
The formula is amazing!
Looks so nice!
Happy you liked it, too! 🙂
I just love this color! I initially wanted Destiny when it was first released but it was just too light. I hope this one works out better for me!
Fingers crossed for you!
This is gorgeous on you Christine!
Thank you!
Gorgeous color, and you are REALLY making me want to finally bite the bullet and get one of these cream blushes!
I can’t believe you’ve resisted so far!
I love Chanel’s cream blushes! This one is pretty pretty! 🙂
Love this formula!
Swatched this at my Neimans counter at it was gorgeous! Glad you gave it a great rating. I always stop by your blog first before proceeding with an expensive purchase 🙂 what’s the best brush to apply this blush? This might have to be my first chanel creme blush purchase!
Thank you!
I like MAC 131 or 159! Or fingertips.
O M G I NEED THIS!!!!! 🙂
Enjoy!!
Looks lovely on you.
Thanks!
Are you being cheeky? 😉 You’re welcome! 🙂
SO PRETTY :-O
Ack – I’m busy eyeballing bronzers and contours these days…this one might be just warm enough to save my wallet, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t gorgeous anyway!
Maybe still worth checking out if you’re near a Chanel counter? 😀
Would this look too muddy on NC15 skin as a contour shade? Beautiful review btw 🙂
I think it should work!
I think that I may have to bring Accent with me tomorrow and compare (if I have the energy to go to the mall after work! ) Ive already purchased 5 items from this collection, and am now eyeing those Dior fluid line sticks!
I think the biggest difference is the finish… obviously the formula as well, but Accent is more shimmery for sure!
I think Ineed this! May I ask how you apply cream blushes? I am still looking for a good brush
Hi Sara!
I like using synthetic brushes in general, and I usually reach for MAC’s 131 or 159! Pat on, then lightly sweep to blend.
Thanks!
Do you think this would go ruddy on fair, pink-toned skin? I can wear Tarte Exposed with no issue but I wonder if this maybe has too much red?
I think it would work, Amber!
Christine Thanks for this review, I purchased this & I can’t wait to try this 🙂
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it, Bre!
Hard not to love. The shade seem so natural.
I love shades like this for that natural element!
How does Cheeky compare to Tarte Exposed (Tarte is not available in my country) ? Or Exposed is more similar to Korres #15 Natural blush? Thank you for your time!
Exposed is a bit cooler-toned, rosier, not quite as warm as this one.
I usually steer clear of creme blushes (i think i own one stila convertible color) because of my combination/oily complexion, but this! It’s one of those rare reviews that you can tell from the pictures it really is an A+ product.
Can anyone with combination/oily skin type tell me if they have worked with these? Tia 🙂
Here are some reader reviews – http://www.temptalia.com/product/chanel-le-blush-creme-de-chanel
Hi, Carly. My cheeks have the tendency to get a bit oily, and I’ve never had any problems with the formula of Chanel’s Le Blush Creme. 🙂
Looks great!
Yay! 😀
It might be too warm for me to use but I think a swatch is in order, looks like it might be a nice contour shade!
I think it might be rosy enough to work even on cooler tones!
It looked so dark in the pan just like a contouring powder but I like how sheer it tuned on application and transformed to a peachy brown blush.. 🙂
It’s definitely something you can wear sheer or more built up!
I bought this, second creme blush I have purchased from Chanel, and I am so happy I did! Love the color on me, and I’m so fair I usually cannot pull off browns because they’ll turn or look muddy on me. This on is just perfection. Lasted all day, too. Makes you wonder if you can hoard a backup.
Yay! So glad you love it, Michelle!
I love Chanel’s cream blushes and I have way too many of them. That being said, I snapped this right up! I think it’s interesting to note that this is the first in this line to have fragrance added to it. I’m wondering if that’s why the initial texture of the blush is different. Cheeky looks smooth like a mousse when it’s brand new while it’s siblings start with a texture pressed into it. It’s fragrance is definitely noticeable as well, though only in pan. It shouldn’t bother anyone unless their skin is reactive to it.
I didn’t notice any scent – what scent did you detect?
It smells like most Chanel products to me, roses maybe? The ingredients list clearly lists parfum as well. I wonder why they desided to start adding it?
With cheek products, I normally notice it, but I couldn’t detect it at all in the one I have! (I went back to check!)
I snagged this puppy as soon as I swatched it at the Chanel counter. Gorgeous! I should’ve bought 2 because I’ve been getting a lot of use out of it & can actually see myself running out in the near future. It’s very rare for me to finish any of my blushes because I have so damn many, but this is a staple shade for me. Love it for quick contouring that easily blends out as well. It’s such an easy product to work with!
Too bad MUF doesn’t make a decent dupe of this in their new cream blush formula.
I hope that MUFE will make one!
