Chanel Blurry Green (318) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Blurry Green (318)
Chanel Blurry Green (318) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new quad that features two more golden shades and two deeper, more contrasting shades of black-brown and forest green. I’ve seen the quad say sold out and then pop back in stock, and the website doesn’t list it as limited edition, so my expectation is that it should reappear at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later). Makes one wonder why there aren’t more green palettes if they can’t keep it in stock, eh? Those who like Chanel’s eyeshadow formula in general will likely enjoy the formula of this quad, which was silky and smooth with good pigmentation and wear. All four shades had some shimmer to them, but they were more satin to pearl in sheen.

Blurry Green #1
Blurry Green #1 is a light, golden copper with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It straddled that tone between gold and copper, but it seemed too warm to be a gold! The texture was smooth and silky without being powdery in the pan. It had opaque pigmentation that adhered well to bare skin and blended out easily. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Blurry Green #2
Blurry Green #2 is a blackened-brown with subtle, warm olive undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color payoff in a single layer paired with a soft, lightly dusty consistency that was smooth and silky to the touch. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin and blended out without issue. The color started to show signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

Blurry Green #3 is a medium-dark, forest green with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It was richly pigmented and applied evenly to bare skin. The texture was smooth, silky, and blendable without being too firmly nor too softly pressed. It lasted well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Blurry Green #4
Blurry Green #4 is a medium-dark, golden brown with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was semi-opaque but buildable, while the texture felt soft, silky, and finely-milled but slightly dusty to the touch. This shade applied evenly and blended out nicely along the edges. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

I may be in the minority here, but I do like this quad quite a bit! However, and it is a major “however”; this is no Empriente Du Desert. No comparison. Would have much preferred that Chanel had re-released that gem instead!
I wonder how many times you and I have said that about the E du D quad…why wouldn’t they re-release it when it was so fantastic? I wouldn’t even care if they didn’t put the sand-dune type swirls on the surface.
And I’m willing to bet that you and I are NOT the only ones who be overjoyed to see that perfect little quad make a return! With or without the sand dunes waves, doesn’t matter.
Count me in!!
I know for a fact that we can add Genevieve to the list, and I’m sure there are others I’m forgetting who share our sentiment (and also incredulity that they’ve not re-released or made it permanent).
I love EDD palette. I don’t use it much in spring/summer but love it for fall/winter. Such a pretty palette.
Maybe we should get up a petition to send to Chanel! EduD was a summer release, I think, but like you, I love it for autumn as well – it’s the perfect quad for transitioning from summer to fall. But I do love it summer also – when hubby suggests drinks at a place we love in town that is on the lake, I love using it for an eye look and I always start with that beautiful sunset-golden shade.
That’s one I’m always regretting not splurging on at the time.
Love the dupes list. Knowing I have Huda Emerald palette will scratch my itch for the green I like.
Thank you sooo much for this review. I waited for a „good green palette“. In Germany it‘s only available directly at Chanel and has a „pre-release“ label. Don‘t know what that means, others have the usual „limited“ or „new“. ?
This is already sold out!! :,((((
No surprises here….I’ve got dupes for all the shades but #2 is so beautiful and just “different enough” from the dupes I have that if I stumbled across this quad, I’d probably buy it!
I thought about you right away when I saw this Mariella! Although I wish there was more difference between the two bronzes I do love the deeper green… I don’t mind getting things second hand, I’ll be on the lookout for this one.
This is an absolutely gorgeous palette! Too bad Chanel still has Parabens and Talc in their ingredients…otherwise I’d buy this in a heartbeat!
This is a gorgeous quad, but I do think shades 1 & 4 are fairly similar to each other and I would have liked to have seen a more bronzey number in the quad. It is reminiscent of a few of Chanel’s past iterations – Tisse d’ Automne and Empriente du Desert (which was never released in Aus.).
Gorgeous eye look Christine.
I thought the same, they could have switched out #4 for something a little deeper. Really lovely overall though and I agree with Christine-seems all green palettes sell really well, yet we get so few of them.
I don’t now why, but I’m tickled by the name “Blurry Green” — it’s completely unique without being over the top in any way. 🙂
Good-looking palette! The two tan shades seem a bit too close, but I think I note that issue to some degree on about 95% of the palettes I see.
I love Chanel quads. When they are good they are usually really good. I agree with all the statements already made. Too bad they didn’t switch out one of the beige’s but I do like the combination of colours and it would make an easy eye look. I am going to Seattle in July and will hopefully be able to check it out in person.
This is a really lovely quad, and right on trend.
“Makes one wonder why there aren’t more green palettes if they can’t keep it in stock, eh?” — EXACTLY!!! And wonder why more aren’t permanent!
