Chanel Fall 2015 Glossimers

Chanel Beige Star (206) Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a pink-tinged beige with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color payoff, but there’s a fair amount of translucency so the natural lip color will influence this one a lot. For those with darker natural lip color, this may lighten and brighten to some degree without being particularly noticeable on. It didn’t settle as much as a lot of shades in this family have for me, but there is still some minor settling into my lower lip lines. It wore for three hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Goodness Gracious (LE, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). Revlon HD Smoky Topaz (570) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery, lighter, more pigmented (90% similar). MAC Summer Sweetheart (LE, $17.50) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Join the Party (LE, $17.50) is warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl (DC, $26.00) is brighter (90% similar). MAC On the Scene (LE, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Rule34 (DC, $20.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Sweet Persuasion (LE, $20.00) is brighter (90% similar). Sephora Perfect Nude (04) (P, $12.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Boy Bait (PiP, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Chic Supremacy (LE, $17.50) is lighter, more pigmented, cooler (85% similar). Too Faced Naked Dolly (LE, ) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). MAC Fashion Punch (P, $17.50) is more shimmery, more pigmented, warmer (80% similar). Maybelline Nude Illusion (060) (P, $8.99) is more pigmented, warmer (80% similar). MAC Overspiced (LE, $17.50) is more pigmented, warmer (80% similar). Chanel Chene Rouge (212) Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium red with warm undertones and orange pearl. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque pigmentationt and covers fairly evenly. I can see this gloss appealing to more, as it isn’t fully opaque but has enough color to noticeably tint lips. The texture was smooth, lightly tacky overall, and comfortable to wear. This shade wore for four and a half hours on me and was very lightly hydrating.
Sephora Lady Luck (30) (P, $12.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Chanel Daydream (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, more muted (90% similar). MAC Enchanter (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted (85% similar). MAC Velvet Me (LE, $17.50) is cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Assassin (DC, $26.00) is cooler (90% similar). Dior 999 (P, $35.00) is lighter, brighter, less glossy (90% similar). MAC Totally Fab (LE, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 (LE, $17.50) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). YSL Undress Me (P, $32.00) is lighter (85% similar). Chanel Dzhari (608) (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). NARS Rose Gitane (P, $26.00) is lighter, less pigmented, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Bang (P, $20.00) is cooler (85% similar). NARS Scandal (P, $26.00) is lighter, less pigmented (85% similar). Maybelline Signature Scarlet (020) (P, $8.99) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). NARS Special Force (LE, $28.00) is darker, more pigmented (85% similar). MAC Fortune Red (LE, $17.50) is cooler (85% similar). Illamasqua Touch (P, $22.00) is brighter, more pigmented (85% similar). MAC Kinky (LE, $17.50) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). NARS Eternal Red (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (80% similar). Revlon Fire (P, $7.49) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (80% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. Yay! I’m glad Chen Rouge did pretty good. I ordered it yesterday. I think it will be nice over a lipstick or liner too! I also have had assassin on my wish list. So, maybe this one will fulfill that need. Christine, how does one note wish list one if they have it on their vanity on this new format? I know their is a little list with a plus to the right. Is that one of those?

Yep, the list with a + is wish list. Vanity is the mirror with “drawers’ so-to-speak.

Noted: need to add tooltip for icons + add back vanity icon on Glossovers.

Thank you!

Eeek! The beige one looks terrible, it’s thin and settling into a thousand lip lines. But the red with gold shimmer looks pretty – can it be layered so it’s opaque?

I have Mystery from Chanel which is a near exact dupe for Beige Star but definitely more pigmented and creamier

Beige Star is simply horrible! And that’s putting it mildly! However, Chene Rouge is quite a pretty shade, but I would still rather buy Revlon Fire or UD Assassin instead.

Hi Christine! Not sure if this is the right place to ask or on the original post introducing the new site but I’ve noticed recently that some dupes are listed with the brand name and color name while others have just the color name. If you’re testing out which is better received, I definitely vote for brand name + color name!

Hi Inday,

It is noted as an error on the original site announcement post already! I gave my team the weekend off (every was putting in 12-14 hour days for the last two weeks) except for mayday/site is totally broken errors, so it won’t be fixed until Monday.

Thank you for the quick reply! I just noticed this was mentioned in that post and came back to say that but you beat me to it!

On topic: I’m always drawn to shades like Beige Star but thank goodness for lower priced dupes!

Beige Star is a bit of a surprise miss considering the permanent line has a cooler-toned, pinky beige shade (Giggle) that is excellent and one of my go-to MLBB shades. Chene Rouge is gorgeous but red glosses always bleed like crazy on me. 🙁
