Au Fil des Fleurs (356)

Chanel Au Fil des Fleurs (356) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($65.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, limited edition quad for spring featuring two shades of pink, an iridescent lavender, and a muted purple; all featured some level of shimmer to them. The lightest shade (#2) was sheerer and would be more of a brightening or layering shade (based on opacity and type of color), while the other shades were pigmented; all four applied well and lasted for seven to eight hours on me.

Au Fil des Fleurs #1

Au Fil des Fleurs #1 is a light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color coverage but seemed to have a bit of translucency when I looked at it closely. The texture was smooth to the touch, finely-milled without being powdery, and blended out without difficulty. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Au Fil des Fleurs #2

Au Fil des Fleurs #2 is a pale, icy lavender with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had medium coverage in a single layer, which was buildable coverage to semi-opaque with a second layer or full coverage applied with a dampened brush. For those who like brightening shades, the lack of opacity might not be a deal-breaker, but if you wanted full-on pop, it’ll be lacking. The texture felt soft, smooth, and firm enough not to be powdery but had some give so it picked up well with a brush. It lasted nicely for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

Au Fil des Fleurs #3

Au Fil des Fleurs #3 is a muted, medium-dark pink with neutral-to-cool undertones paired with fine, warmer gold pearl that gave it a warmer tone overall. The consistency felt soft to the touch, dense and firm without being thick or stiff, so it picked up well with a brush and blended out well on my lid without sheering out too readily. It yielded nearly opaque coverage in a single layer but could be built up to full coverage with a second layer or made opaque applied over primer or with a dampened brush. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Au Fil des Fleurs #4

Au Fil des Fleurs #4 is a medium-dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. The texture was soft, smooth, and easy to work with but not powdery or prone to fallout. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

I’m glad these aren’t the sort of colours I’m drawn to because otherwise, I’d be wanting to get this. Happy that it rated well because I know a few people here will be very eager to get their hands on this.

Hi Mariella!

I was gifted this & the Clair-Obscur about 10-12 days ago & I have alternated between them the whole time.

I think both palettes do well with good pony, squirrel, goat & sable brushes. I get more payoff & a longer wear from both this way.

The Clair Obscur esp. “melts” to a cream-like look & durability with pony & squirrel, achieving a slightly satin-cream look with simple concealer as a base. This palette is literally meant just to shade the eyelid & highlight the shape of the eye contour. It gives a beautiful artistic barely-there look this way without budging, fading or creasing. If you want that subtle definition that somehow makes your eyes look bright & enormous, like in a skin care ad, this is the palette. It can lean either neutral-warm or neutral-cool depending on your own complexion.

For a classic Chanel smoky evening look, use the Clair Contour shadow stick as a base.

In contrast this Fleurs palette has more a watercolor effect that can be dense or sheered out. Again, I recommend natural hair brushes, esp. goat. It’s gently glowing & water-nymphy. People observing you from the side will comment on the fairytale sheen & sparkle.

Fleurs also has excellent durability, but does retain some texture from its sparkle. It doesn’t melt as thoroughly as Clair Obscur.

I would rate both palettes A personally. Enjoy!

Nice gifts to receive, no question, but I’ve no interest in this palette (not to my taste at all) nor in Clair Obsur. I’ve got several Chanel quads that are much more to my liking and personal tastes/preferences.

This is quite the lovely quad! I really like it. Unfortunately, I don’t know that I love it enough to lay down $65 for it, though. The lack of an eye look tells me that this is no Empriente du Desert. No melted effect, I’m assuming. I doubt if I’ll be getting it in that case.

I find this little quad so pretty!
I don’t need it, but I want it. It’s certainly colours I like to use, but as it is Chanel it would take a big bite out of the makeup budget I try to keep.

It’s very pretty but I think that as the shades here are so popular at the moment, this Chanel quad is too expensive.
The shade colours are not for me, but I do think the purple one is stunning.
