Chanel Affinite (65) Le Blush Creme de Chanel ($38.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as an “intense blue pink.” It’s a brightened, medium pink with cool, blue undertones, and a saitn finish. Edward Bess Bed of Roses is a touch lighter, powder. NARS Mata Hari is darker, powder. NARS Angelika is lighter, bluer-based, powder. MAC Whole Lotta Love is a powder. MAC Weekend Getaway is slightly less blue-based. Bobbi Brown Pretty Pink is lighter, powder. See comparison swatches.

This is a new formula that launched for fall, and there are six shades in total–two are limited edition and four are permanent (this is one of the latter). (Although, Chanel’s website lists all six shades as limited edition, the press release only listed two.) I have the other five shades to test, which I’ll be doing throughout the week, so stay tuned for those reviews. Yesterday, I started my testing with Affinite.

Chanel describes it as a “powder-cream formula” with “sheer yet vibrant pigments for instant luminosity” and a “long-wear satin finish.” The texture is interesting; it feels like a cream blush with a thin, emollient texture that’s not at all tacky or gooey. The surface was hard, yet the cream itself was soft–but it was “hard” in a way where you only disturb the top-most layer with a brush or fingertip, rather than the whole pan. As soon as it makes contact with the skin, it starts to turn into a powder. It doesn’t quite look like a powder, but it feels more like a powder than a cream as you blend the product into the skin. It’s a very blendable, buildable formula, and a little goes a long way with Affinite. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me and started looking slightly faded after nine and a half hours.

I want to get this one and Presage. But we only get those in August….And I would love to get the Quad but it is US exklusive:( If any one wants to make a swap with somenthing?:)xxx Anna

Thanks for the review. Could you also write how you applied it? Applying with a creme foundation brush seems to make it last longer than once applied with the fingers. 8-10 hours is quiet long, I don’t think I am reaching it (I have normal skin).

Hi Sara,

I used various duo-fibre brushes (whatever I had on hand), and they all worked fine – nothing special!

I’ve never had a cream blush last that long on me, but this cream to powder formula sounds interesting. I’m intrigued to see how the other colors feel and swatch. I think I’ll be stopping by the Chanel counter this weekend. Thanks for reviewing!

I was thinking about picking this one up. I have Fantastic, which is actually very wearable even on my super pale skin because, like you said, very buildable. This one might be the next purchase! The swatches are lovely!

Yes, definitely I will have to pick up a Chanel cream blush, Iยดm not sure if it would be this or another one but I definitely need at least one ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Too many potential powder dupes for this particular colour in my stash but I definitely need to pick up a blush in this formula. Love the results on your skin. It gives your cheek a beautiful glow.

I bought “inspiration” for my Chanel Love..but I havn’t tried it yet.
But I am so afraid that it would be similar to MAC Casual Colors which I bought them all but I hate they never settle down.
If i love the texture of this collection..I will also buy this shade…i looove blue based pink

Thank you so much for reviewing this, Christine! I’ve been really excited about these since hearing Lisa Eldridge rave about these! So good to know these live up to their hype. On a side note, I really do hope that Chanel keep the Stylo eyeshadows around from the Summer collection. I’m in love with them. The cooling effect is so awesome!

This color looks so pretty on you ๐Ÿ™‚ wondering what blush brush you use cause your blush never looks anything less than perfect.

Hi Swetha!

When I applied these, I ended up using all my duo-fibre brushes across brands, and I found them all to work well. I like Sephora’s, as well as MAC’s newer 159.

Chanel’s own website actually lists only two as limited edition–Fantastic and Presage. You have to click on “Limited Edition” to see which ones actually are LE.

Thanks, Rebe! When I wrote this review, I clicked through the new shades, and they all showed as “Limited Edition” so it was very confusing.
