When I feel pretty good about my skin, I enjoy them for quick, slap-on-and-go makeup, but I tend to reach for buildable, medium coverage foundations (whatever I’m currently hooked on) even if I don’t necessarily need the coverage. I wish they had deeper shade ranges/more diverse undertones, though, as most brands have limited shade ranges.

I feel like I stop actively seeking out products in that category; like I’m not driven to find a better match, better formula, etc. and consuming reviews, but if something releases and seems to be well-reviewed, I would be curious and consider trying it, even if what I had was working well for me.

If it’s something I can actually use and feel like I’ll go through, I may get a backup, but I usually just move on. I’ve found that I’m slow to get through backups no matter what, and I also tend to use more recently released products when I do get to return to things anyway.

The one that comes to mind first is Guerlain Parure Gold (which has since been reformulated/rereleased but isn’t the same), and I ended up replacing it with Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea (which is quite nice, so I don’t miss Parure Gold much these days).
