Burberry Oxblood & Gold Lip Glow Lipgloss Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Burberry Burberry Winter Glow Lip Glow
Burberry Oxblood No. 23 Lipgloss ($29.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool undertones and creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage, which seems in line with the brand’s description (“hint of colour”), and a lightweight, comfortable-to-wear feel on the lips. This shade lasted for four hours on me and was moderately hydrating. It could apply more evenly, though. This color is part of the permanent range, but it will have Burberry’s regular packaging (instead of gold). MAC Pleasant (LE, $20.00) is less glossy. MAC Hopelessly Devoted (LE, $20.00) is pinker. MAC Prepare for Pleasure (LE, $20.00) is redder. Giorgio Armani #523 (P, $29.00) is more opaque. MAC Impassioned (LE, $15.00) is more opaque. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Burberry Gold No. 25 Lipgloss ($29.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a beige-tinted gloss with lots of muted gold and antique gold shimmer and larger gold sparkle. It adds a very slight bit of warmth to my natural lip color, but it’s really the amount of sparkle that is most noticeable. I couldn’t feel any of the sparkle or shimmer, which was nice, even as it wore away. It wore well for three hours on me and was hydrating over time. Dior Gold Rain (164) (LE, $29.50) is less shimmery. NARS Soleil d’Orient (LE, $26.00) is more shimmery. MAC Pussywillow (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Maybelline Gleaming Gold (120) (LE) has finer shimmer. Bobbi Brown Bare Peach (LE, $24.00) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Pure Gold (LE, $24.00) is yellower. Bobbi Brown Candlelight (LE, $24.00) is similar. MAC Pure Sophistication (LE, $15.00) is yellower. Chanel French Toffee (83) (LE, $27.00) is less shimmery. MAC Soft Serenade (LE, $15.00) is darker. MAC Boundless Beige (P, $19.50) is lighter. Guerlain Gold Tchlack (P, $30.00) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Canary (P, $24.00) is yellower. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

They both look so festive!
Have you tried Burberry’s Lip Glow formula?
I was expecting such a different color from Oxblood O_O I am confused.
Agreed!
Hmmm, with these applying more sheer I feel as though Oxblood isn’t a very apt color description. It’s beautiful nonetheless, but I would have loved to see a deeper, darker red as opposed to a dark-ish fuchsia. Still gorgeous!
It is SO much pinker than I would expect from “Oxblood.”
Ah.. Lippies. Christine, you’re gorgeous, but that red one is like a cheap Barbie lipgloss to me, though the gold looks quite good, especially for muting lips a bit with a dash of gold! Still, not the greatest.. Oh, Lime Crime disappeared from Sephora! That was oddly short lived! Thanks for the reviews! Reds and golds! 😀
The gold is prettily done, I think, given it is supposed to be a sheerer formula. There’s enough shimmer there that it’ll be a nice layering gloss over any lipstick, but it is also wearable on its own for more than just glossiness.
That’s good to know, thank you!
Hmmmm. I wonder how Gold No. 25 Lipgloss will look over Gold No. 217 Lip Mist….
Pretty, I’m sure!
Burberry, you’re breaking my heart! I wanted Oxblood to be a rich red but this is more like fuschia 🙁
Awwww!
That oxblood gloss is much cooler than the lippie. Even though I like the color I was expecting more opacity!
I was surprised it turned so pink!
I like the gold. The Oxblood, besides being pink and not oxblood, just looks too patchy.
The gold is definitely easier to apply!
Hmm.. not impressive 🙁 most glosses are so played out across so many brands, according to me. It’s really tough to find a genuinely unique or beautiful all across well-performing one. Till then, most of them are like “seen this before”.
Bobbi Brown’s Canary stands out to me, only because it is so packed with sparkle and a much yellower gold sparkle at that, but I agree that many of them look the same!
You’re right, Canary is GORGEOUS!
Hm, it seems like more of an ‘oxblood diluted’, but that doesn’t stop it from being pretty. Maybe the diluteness of the pigment is triggering the application trickiness?
It might be – my guess is that translucent quality with richer pigment can give it an almost stained, but not even, appearance.
I like the way the gold gloss looks. It’ll look pretty over lipsticks
I think it will!
Oh gee, not at all what I expected Oxblood to look like- but it’s pretty! The gold- meh… Same old same old you know? I’m okay with Burberry’s glosses- does this have a scent or aftertaste? Thks!
I didn’t notice a scent or taste!
I love that gold, but I recently bought Soleil D’Orient… might have to skip
That Oxblood is so deceiving in the tube! I’d like it if it were deeper and more opaque.
Looks pretty
