Bobbi Brown Punch, Cranberry, Telluride Crushed Lip Colors Reviews & Swatches
Punch
Bobbi Brown Punch Crushed Lip Color ($29.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had buildable pigmentation that ranged from semi-sheer in one layer to semi-opaque in two layers. The lipstick had a lightweight, thin consistency that felt waxy as it glided across my lips without tugging but never felt wet or emollient while on. It applied evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip texture or lip lines. It wore well for five hours, left a faint stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$29.00/0.11 oz. - $263.64 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high color payoff" with a "blotted-down stain effect" that "glides on comfortably" and keeps lips "hydrated." It's also supposed to be long-wearing and is buildable from "blotted-down" in one layer to "intense color payoff" in two to three layers. The majority of the shades in the range have medium to semi-opaque coverage in one layer, and they were buildable from there with two to three layers. A few shades applied less evenly than others, though most went on well enough.
The consistency was more like a firmer, harder balm, as it glided easily across my lips, but it didn't feel wet, emollient, or oily, more waxy like a traditional lipstick but very lightweight. Some shades pulled into my lip lines and a few emphasized my natural lip texture, while others were more smoothing and flattering in finish/texture. The wear typically lasted between three and six hours with some of the richer/darker shades leaving subtle stains behind. The formula was more non-drying to lightly hydrating, but it wasn't hydrating enough that I'd put it in that category (hydrating lipstick). They had a faint, lemon-meets-wax scent that sometimes wasn't noticeable at all (depended on the shade).
All swatches are with two layers.

Cranberry
Bobbi Brown Cranberry Crushed Lip Color ($29.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a muted, medium reddish-plum with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had opaque pigmentation after two layers, while one layer yielded medium coverage. The texture was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and felt noticeably waxy with less traditional creaminess/slip. The color went on evenly and didn’t sink into my lip lines, which helped it appear smoother overall. It lasted for just over four and a half hours on me and was non-drying over time.

The plum shaded lipsticks are really pretty for a bolder, but also a more muted berry look. Love them.
Ooh, I love the rustic tone of plum that I’m seeing in Telluride! It just looks like a very flattering shade. Plus, it makes me think of hot cocoa or a hot toddy at a ski resort; warm and cozy.
So glad Cranberry got an A rating- I’ve been interested in that shade since last year. Thanks for reviewing all of these Christine!
Telluride is on my to-buy list already, but now I’m also being tempted by the siren call of Cranberry…. well, I’ve been sorta spending less on beauty than I anticipated, this year. I’ll think about it. These formulas and shades would probably see a lot of use in my lipstick library!
I’m so glad Telluride scored well! I ordered it because it looks like such a pretty and different color.
I’ve been eyeing Cranberry for a few months now, I’m taking your review as a sign from above that I should finally take it home! lol
On another note, could I suggest you something, Christine? This line is mainly interesting to me due to the sheer/natural finish of the lipsticks, so maybe with lipsticks like these you could also take pictures after applying only the first layer?
Thanks for the suggestion! I understand why it would be useful, but in terms of how the system is set up and how much time it takes to edit photos, it’s most practical to be consistent with a line like this (two layers) because it is supposed to be buildable. It’s just like blush, too – my coloring is going to influence sheer products greatly, so making sure that depth, color, and undertone come through is critical (especially for comparisons!) to be of the most use to the most people – but I understand that, as a result, that means that all of these photos aren’t very useful to you!
If they were intended to be sheer and not buildable, I would not put on more than one layer – this is how I keep my swatches and system as consistent as possible. 🙂
I appreciate the suggestion, and I always take suggestions into consideration but there are times where I know that I’m not going to be able to deliver and rather than make you think I’m not listening… I want to take the time to at least explain why I’m going to disappoint you!
I don’t know how the Telluride lipstick would work on me, but I do know that this color in the pot rouge and cheek color was so flattering on me. It seemed as if it would be ashy, but wasn’t at all. Just the right berry, mauve color.
