Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Shimmer Brick Review, Photos, Swatches
Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Shimmer Brick
Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Shimmer Brick ($45.00 for 0.22 oz.) is described as a “shimmering quartet of pearlescent colors.” It’s a medium-dark, bronze and copper-shimmered brown with a frosted, slightly metallic, finish. There is a hint of gray to the browner coloring, but it is still a warm-toned hue. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil (P) is less shimmery, warmer. Chanel Accent (84) (LE, $43.00) is rosier. Kevyn Aucoin Natura (P) is less shimmery. MAC Exotic Ember (LE, $25.00) is darker, browner. MAC Pressed Amber (LE, $25.00) is grayer. MAC Superb (LE, $30.00) is slightly rose-toned. Bobbi Brown Bahama (LE, $38.00) is rosier. See comparison swatches.
Shimmer Bricks can be used as face/cheek products, but they individual shades can also be used as eyeshadows. For the purposes of this review, it focuses on the product worn as a cheek product. I have included swatches of the individual shades for anyone who might be thinking about using it them as eyeshadows. It had good color payoff, and the texture of the powder is soft, finely-milled, and very blendable on the skin. It just slightly emphasized pores, but it was hardly noticeable if you weren’t really looking for it (as in, I don’t think anyone but the wearer would notice!). It wore almost eight hours on me before gradually fading. There was some patchiness after nine and a half hours.

I saw this at my local counter last week, but didn’t buy it. Glad I waited for your review, Christine. 🙂
By the way, I already have Accent, do you think I should still get this?
Are you looking for something browner and more shimmery? If so, then you might like this!
I really like this!!!
Yay!!
I think Accent is a better choice for me. This is very pretty though, but don’t need it. Thanks for the review 😀
My pleasure, Wendy 🙂
How well do you think this will perform as eyeshadows? The colors remind me of the Lorac unizipped palette which I haven’t been able to find 🙁
In the past, I’ve worn them and had them last seven or so hours 🙂 They’re decent as eyeshadows!
I got this and ended up returning it as I was really not that pleased with the pigmentation or color. I typically love BB products but lately they have been hit or miss for me
Christine, are they less or more frosty/metallic than Mac Extra Dimension powders?
Your skin here looks amazing!
About the same? I’d say 🙂
This is beautiful!! I regret skipping over it at Nordstrom now. I have to play with this!
oh wow, these are actually really pretty as individual shades too!
so gonna be mine omg its better than i imagined since the shimmer shadows didnt get real good review from anyone. im gonna grab this!
Very pretty, but this may be a bit dark for me to use as a highlighter.
What I like about this palette is that the 4 segments are quite big. I can use them individually not just as eyeshadows, but as highlighters too. Brown is too dark for me to use as a highlighter, so it is a nice eyeshadow.
Is this one similar to bronze shimmer brick? Which one would you recommend out of the two?
I don’t think I have that Shimmer Brick, Jen!
