Black Up NBL 03 Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
NBL 03
Black Up NBL 03 Blush ($26.50 for 0.12 oz.) is a bold, bright dark berry with cool undertones and a satin finish. The finish became more glowing and luminous as the blush was blended onto the skin, and it seemed to look cooler and almost purplish as I diffused the color out.
The Blush formula is supposed to have “pure and intense color” that “blends to the skin.” It was richly pigmented with nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but the consistency was firmer and drier in the pan, so it took more effort to get product to transfer onto my brush than a softer blush would. I was able to blend and diffuse the blush evenly on the skin, but again, that stiffer consistency made it more challenging to get a nice faded edge going. It wore well for nine hours before fading slightly.

Color is pretty, but I can see where this might need some elbow grease to blend out
The color itself is a stunner!
Ooh! This looks so perfect for late autumn into winter. Such a gorgeous bright berry shade, that my very first thought was literally that “winterberry” should have been its name!
Winterberry would have been a great name for it!
I am happy to see you review a Black up product. 🙂
Glad that works for you!
The blush looks lovely on you Christine! I love that you have reviewed BlackUp brand. Will you be reviewing more items from this brand? I have their TM & so far so good, their primer is in my Sephora cart.?
Sorry, I don’t have much to review at this time! I definitely do not have any of their base products.
The color is sensational.
It is!
That’s a gorgeous berry shade for complexions that suit this colour.
Agreed!
I like this brand. I have a couple of their blushes (a brown and orange shade) and a couple of their lipsticks.
Happy to hear that you’re digging the blushes you have, Nichole!
Wow, this color is right up my alley! I have not tried anything from this brand but have had my eye on it.
What interests you most from the brand?
A combination of their wide variety of products and that it’s marketed to WOC. They appear to be a high-end brand looking at their prices, so I am more cautious about just dropping money on their products before seeing reviews, of which I have seen a few but not many.
Wow! This is a darker color! I love the shade though!
It is a bold shade!
Love this. But my two dupe rule….not sure I really see those as 90s, but… Waited too long on new lowes, that whole set was great. Debate on cheerio att. Maybe next time. Think I’ll weat Chic tonight to cement in why I don’t need this. This color family is lovely.
ColourPop’s formula might be more forgiving re: blending at least, plus cheaper 🙂
I think the color is lovely, but I have to say I have the hardest time blending their blushes. I have the “cocoa” shade and while I dig the color, but it is way too pigmented and stiff for me. BUT, I would like to try some of their products, especially their lipsticks and nail polishes.
I only have three that I bought, but they aren’t the easiest to blend overall! I would say my experience sounds like it is better than yours so far, though 🙁 I haven’t tried anything else from the brand so not sure about the lipsticks!
That lip color is insane! Love the combo. I need a super blendable blush so this is out for me.
Totally understand, Erin!
