Bite Beauty Star Anise, Pink Salt, Toasted Cardamom Amuse Bouche Lipstick Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Star Anise
Bite Beauty Star Anise Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, grayish mauve with neutral-to-warm undertones and a satin sheen. The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was lightly creamy, smooth, and light-medium in thickness but still lightweight in feel. I noticed that the texture was a little more prone to getting into my lip lines, and it did get a little worse over the five hours it lasted for.

Formula Overview

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable.
The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamy with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They have a herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

Pink Salt
Bite Beauty Pink Salt Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick had fantastic, rich color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly without tugging on my lips. It had enough slip to be comfortable to wear, but the color adhered for six-hour wear. The formula felt moisturizing while I wore it.

Toasted Cardamom
Bite Beauty Toasted Cardamom Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium rosy brown with warm undertones and a cream sheen. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and easy to apply for even coverage, but I noticed there was a little bit of product that gathered in my deeper lip lines over time. It wasn’t noticeable until later on during wear (about four hours), and the color stayed on well for closer to five and a half hours all-in. The formula was hydrating while worn.

Pink Salt is gorgeous but I have about seven of the dupes, so am trying to stay strong and not buy it. Maybe if it ever goes on sale. . .
You have me beat…I only have five of the dupes listed!
Stay strong, Miradan!
Thanks, everyone! I appreciate the encouragement to stay strong. I have way too many lipsticks and am really trying to be conscious of dupes and not just jump to buy.
You summed up that essential makeup THING. When you really love a shade family , you see infinitesimal differences in hue, finish, etc that make all of them so worth it! (And others would be hard pressed to see any difference at all!). At times I have five + dupes, like Hot Harissa, was it? I try to negate that excess by noting that there are plenty of shades that have zero stash representation. (Prob because I look awful in them.) Not sure that this is a curable condition. Even after I set myself a 2 dupe >90% rule= no buy, and try to stick to it, I still find overloads.
It’s like me when I see a copperish lipstick – even though I have more dupes than there are days in the week. Use up your dupes first Mirandan.
I don’t feel too bad about wanting this one since I only have 3 of the dupes, LOL. Also, none of these dupes are greater than 90% similar which I always think is my reason for getting them. You know, no close dupe, although I would be the only one who knew they were different. I like the Bite formula a lot, too.
Star Anise is so gorgeous, but I’m afraid it might look too gray on me, unfortunately. 🙁
Love the muted quality of so many of these. Glad they are going live at Sephora. Plus, there’s the new Fenty to scope out. Not sure i’ve been in big S in the last quarter. Not that that’s a bad thing.
Toasted Cardamom and Pink Salt are both absolutely lovely! I would get them, but having PMG She’s Heaven and MAC Mehr, I’m good with those. Money saved! (Still getting Lit Tumeric, though!)
I’m dying for the shade Star Anise! Unfortunately I can’t afford it and none of the true dupes are cheaper! :'(
Aaarrgh! When are we going to get these in UK? Its sooo frustrating. These colours are gorgeous!!
Star Anise looks great with the eyeshadow you’re wearing. I’m hoping it’s the new Dior Backstage Cool palette coming out!
Hmmm, I was thinking maybe it was the ColourPop Fame palette, which I just bought. In any case, it is a beautiful eye look. I can’t wait to see the reviews for those gorgeous Dior palettes!
How do you like the CP Fame palette Seraphine? I was thinking about getting it. Like you I can’t wait to see the reviews for the Dior palettes! The whole collection looks intriguing, especially the cool palette!
I don’t quite like the finish on these lipsticks.
I feel like Star Anise is the everyday easy wearing mauve color I’ve been searching for. I normally don’t spend over $18 on lipstick, but I might make an exception this time.
I love the Star Anise but that shade would make me look like death. BTW, Christine, I love your eye look but don’t see the products you used listed anywhere.
Here you go!
