Bite Beauty #064, 088, 086 Lip Pencils Reviews, Photos, Swatches
#064
Bite Beauty #064 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good pigmentation in a single layer/stroke, which applied fairly even to bare skin but was blendable for more even results by pressing my lips together and rubbing gently. The consistency was creamy without being too slippery, and it “dried” and felt lightweight on the lips. There was a bit of color that sat in my lip lines, though. It adhered well and stayed put for over six hours, while the formula felt drying just after the six-hour mark on me. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Sangria (brighter, darker, cooler), Sorbet (lighter, warmer) see comparison swatches.
The Lip Pencil is supposed to have “perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage” with a lightweight feel. The formula worked exceptionally well for lining the edges of the lips and keeping lipstick on longer and more within the lines (e.g. a lipstick feathers on its own wouldn’t feather when layered over one of the lip pencils). Some shades worked well for filling in the lips for all over color, but a few applied more unevenly or were less comfortable to fill in with. The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as it was infinitely easier to even out color by rubbing my lips together than applying more product. The formula has a lightweight feel on the lips, and the wear ranged from five to six hours for light to medium-hued shades with some of the deeper and richer shades lasting well over six hours. They will require sharpening, and as they are creamier, it was easiest to keep them in a cool place or in the freezer (for a few minutes) prior to sharpening to minimize any mess in the sharpener.

They do feel lightweight, and they lasted anywhere from five to six hours on their own. They weren’t spectacularly long-wearing as a standalone lip product, but they extended the wear of lipsticks by two to four hours.

Bite Beauty #088 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium purple with warmer, pink undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good color coverage in one layer, which went on fairly evenly on its own. The consistency was blendable, so I was able to even out the color beautifully just by rubbing my lips together (gently!). The liner was comfortable to use along the edges of my lips and tolerable for all-over color. This shade was still going strong after six hours of wear, and it had just started to feel a touch drying after five and a half hours of wear. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Spritzer (lighter, cooler), Gin Fizz (lighter, warmer), Dragonfruit (darker, brighter, warmer) see comparison swatches.

#086
Bite Beauty #086 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium pink with cool, blue undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that went on best along the edges of the lips, but it was workable as an all-over color. I did have to blend and even out the coverage by rubbing my lips together, as it became intolerable to keep maneuvering the pencil as the product ended up bunching up on itself (too much product). The consistency was creamy initially but dried down, and it felt thin but lightweight on the lips. It wore well for five hours on me and was non-drying. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Cotton Candy (cooler), Kimchi (darker), Gin Fizz (darker, cooler) see comparison swatches.

I have Kimichi rolling around here somewhere. Maybe I need 086.
It could be useful!
#088 is my jam! Plus, ’88 is the year I had my daughter, so that’s an added lil’ sumthin’! ?
But seriously, I think this would work beautifully with lighter shades of purple lipstick or gloss.
Aww <3
I love 88!! Such a pretty purple/lilac.
It is!
I need #64 desperately, I am into pink-coral lipsticks lately and this will be a perfect match.
Agreed – it should work well for those!
I think that’s whyI’ve been eyeing this shades as well. I love my pink/coral lipsticks in general as well.
