Best Products of the Week | Vol. 290
Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.
What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

Look you loved this week?: I used the “old” UD Revolution formula lipstick in Rapture yesterday for the first time in ages. Ditto Sephora’s concealer (I think it’s called Make No Mistake – it’s in a squeeze-y tube) I can’t remember anything else about my “look” but I was so happy with how that lipstick looked and was pleased with the performance of the concealer also
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Old has to be the Rapture lipstick, along with MAC’s Golden Gaze eyeshadow. I had forgotten how lovely and wearable that shadow is (it looks so dark and murky in the pan but transforms into the most beautiful shade of sludge green/brown with some bronze thrown in).
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Golden Gaze and also my 2 new ABH shadows – Chiffon and Chocolate Crumble (not necessarily all together!)
Oh, Mariella! The concealer that we were talking about earlier this week, the Shiseido Self Refreshing Concealer, it’s a good one! I would call it a high end dupe of my beloved Maybelline Better Skin Concealer. It’s the first concealer I’ve tried in forever that I love and actually looks like skin but covers things up. If you decided to pick it up, I think you would enjoy it.
This is so good to know, Celesta. Thanks for reporting back with this information. My favourite Shoppers Drug Mart carries Shiseido and it’s 20% off every Thursday. I have to get a few other things but with our current Stay At Home order, I’m reluctant to go out for anything other than groceries or prescriptions so I might wait until things are better here because as much as I do think makeup is a necessity (and most here understand the desperate urge), in this current emergency, I don’t want to be making the sorts of excuses I criticize others for.
I completely understand that! Things may be looking a bit better, but we still have to be smart. At least you know it’s out there, should you decide to try. 😊
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Look you loved this week?: I did a springy pink and turquoise look that I adored as well as a graphic liner look that I loved so much. Here are the links if you are interested!

Any new or old favorites discovered?: I’m starting to enjoy my Juvia’s Place Wahala 2 palette again. It’s really large and can be overwhelming, but I used it a couple of times this week and it’s great quality.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I have so many beautiful but neglected palettes, so I am going to start pulling one out every week and make a concerted effort to use it a couple of times.
Your skin tone/coloring: See above
Look you loved this week?: Neutral eye, red lip

Any new or old favorites discovered?: I am still on the lookout for a coral red lip. (No floral scent.) suggestions welcome!
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I splurged on a lipstick at the Sephora sale (otherwise I just purchased skincare backups) and I will wear it this week. ( Gucci Satin Lipstick 402: A Fuchsia)
Your skin tone/coloring: light MAC NC 20
Look you loved this week?: I went back to an old favorite: the Lorac California Dreaming palette. Soft muted colors. Easy to blend. Perfect for Spring!
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Lorac California Dreaming. Lorac Pro 2
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Paula’s Choice BHA liquid after I use up a glycolic acid toner I’m finishing up
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Look you loved this week?: I did do a few more looks I liked this week – PMG’s Sublime Mini, with Golden Septre on the lids, Sinful in the crease and Lapis Luxury as the pop of colour in the middle of the lower lid. I paired it with CP’s Liquid Courage.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: PMG’s Sublime Mini
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Probably Lorac’s Noir, Maybelline’s Burgundy Bar and CP’s Tea Thyme lipstick.
Look you loved this week?: I did a super basic look where I just took Natasha Denona “Zand” and gently smoked it out on the outer lid, put on some Ardell Demi Wispies, and Benefit Badgal Bang. For face I used Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in “Medium”, Nature Republic By Flower Blusher Face Cheek Blush in “No. 4 Candy Rose”, and Wet ‘n Wild megaglo Highlighter in “Precious Petals”. For lips I used the Truly Beauty Unicorn Lip Plumping Balm and the NARS Satin Lipstick in “Orgasm”
Any new or old favorites discovered?: For the longest time I just thought of Natasha Denona “Zand” as a misc. little single I got from a Sephora perk, but just lightly smoked out by itself with false lashes on top makes for a really simple, modern look that makes me think I could be one of those effortlessly flawless Tiktokers
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I think I want to pull out my Colourpop Sailor Moon palette in the next week
