Best Products of the Week | Vol. 287
Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.
What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Look you loved this week?: MAC Cork (or Soba – I can’t remember and didn’t check the names on the palette) in the crease/above crease lightly; MAC Sable pressed onto mobile lids; UD Zero for a fine line on upper lids and then smudged a bit; MAC Powersurge under lower lashes; MAC Sweet Sentiment blush and UD Love Drunk lipstick (over Elizabeth Arden lip primer).
Any new or old favorites discovered?: I just dug out MAC’s Red Dwarf – it’s years old and so beautiful and it sill smells, looks and applied beautifully. I think it was from a collection from Daphne Guinness and I so wish they would re-release it as it’s such a wonderful lipstick.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Red Dwarf lipstick (even if no one can see it), a self-assembled Buxom e/s palette and Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Exfoliator. I haven’t used it in ages but all the mask wearing and breathing into my mask and the abrasion, etc. – I think my skin would benefit from a gentle “resurfacing”!
We have been really lucky this week – and no masks need to be worn in shopping centres etc. due to our covid numbers being at zero. Thank goodness for that! I am hoping that this will be a reality for you as well fairly soon.
As of this coming Monday, we’re heading into another Grey Zone (the tightest controls before “lockdown”). Gyms and hairdressers – which have been operating with such limited numbers (10 people in my massive gym!) are now shut down entirely and yet malls can remain open (but only 25% capacity) which seems madness (at least gyms and hairdressers have your contact info and can screen you well; malls – HA!). Our numbers have skyrocketed again and I wonder if they will be shutting the schools when the “March Break” – which is now going to be “spring break” in April – rolls around. Country-wide, we don’t have nearly enough vaccine and we no longer (thanks to Brian Mulroney, a past Prime Minister) have labs here that make vaccines like this one. It’s just a total mess.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Look you loved this week?: I have been playing around with both my Naked 1 & 2 palettes this week, using the neutral shades to create various eye looks. One I really liked was using Sin, Sidecar and Hustle and that turned out to be quite pretty. I paired it with CP’s Gallop lipstick.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Yes, my Naked palettes.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I think I will keep going with these Naked beauties.
Genevieve, I love the colour of Sidecar but how on earth do you manage to use it without a shower of fallout?
It doesn’t seem to fallout on me so much and I would use a dampened brush it it did. That’s strange that both of our palettes are different in that respect.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Look you loved this week?: I did a soft sort of watermelon look with my Lethal Cosmetics After Dark palette that I loved, as well as an intense violet look using my Menagerie Cosmetics Violet Ink palette and Clionadh Cosmetics Enamel and UV. The links are below if you want to see!

Any new or old favorites discovered?: I don’t know if it’s a favorite, but the After Dark palette is definitely under appreciated in my collection and the colors scream spring to me, so I’m making it a point to use it more and I really like it.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: More Clionadh!
