Best Products of the Week | Vol. 284
Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.
What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

Your skin tone/coloring: Under name
Look you loved this week?: Anything fast and quick; have really been liking DIY skin tints (primer + couple drops foundation + drop of liquid highlighter)
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Love Cover FX liquid highlighters, but am panning them, they are old; they are also a bit disco-ball like for my current preferences.
I am still panning the Naked 3 palette; 3 shadows are unusable ( I think it is due to age of palette, which why I am panning). The gold metallic “Trick” developed hard-pan which made it just unusable even if I carefully scraped the top off; that was a mess. The darker shades “Blackheart” and “Mugshot” were terrible, fall-out was obnoxious, which sucks because I just love the shift in Mugshot. The rest are usable, but are muddy so I have been doing a 2-and done kind of look, and then adding a shimmer from Jungle Lights.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week? Not yet; at the end of the month, really interested to see how my quarterly Project Pan re-fresh will go.
It sounds like you have the same problem I have with my old Naked 3. The muddiness confused me, the fall-out was sort of expected.
Maybe I’ll try to use it a lot and do what you do, 2 and done.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Look you loved this week?: I did a look with the Musée Beauty Van Gogh palette that I really loved! Also a look duping the CP Animal Crossing purple quad too! Here are the looks if you want to see! https://www.instagram.com/p/CL9alyApTPl/?igshid=1spr6fysi7f7k

Any new or old favorites discovered?: The ColourPop Lilac You a Lot palette is becoming a favorite palette for me. I reached for it several times this week, even when I didn’t expect to.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I just got my Becca Dewing Tint Tinted Moisturizer and used it for the first time today, but I’m hoping to get to know the product better this week. Also I’m waiting on my Clionadh shadows to come in this week and my BH Cosmetics Avocado Toast palette.
Your Van Gogh eye look is stunning Celesta – you were able to place a number of distinct shades on your eye and blend them so well together. Quite a complex eye look.
Thank you, Genevieve! I love the color story of that palette, but I’m still learning the best way to work with the dark mattes. Some mattes are very easy to work with, and some take a little more care, as I’m sure you know. 😊
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Look you loved this week?: I used the Pixi Beauty Reflex Light palette this week, with the soft gold shade as the backdrop on my eyelid, the bronze shade on the lower lid and a smidgeon of olive green in the crease (from CT’s The Rebel 2020). Next time I will do this eye look, I will reverse the order of the bronze and olive green shade to see if that is a better look. I paired it with MAC’s Chili lipstick.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Pixi Beauty Reflex Light palette.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: My new CP lipsticks – 21 Questions and Slow Dance.
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Look you loved this week?: I’m not a blue eyeshadow girl (I have some and love looking at them but rarely use them) but I got out MAC’s very long ago Birds&Berries and used it with a light coppery shadow (either ABH Marina or Sephora Fall Leaves – not sure which) – the light shade on the inner 2/3 of my lids and the blue on the outer corner and crease and under my lower lashes. B&B is such a lovely colour and really deepens and “sparkles” my brown eyes. I think I wore Dior’s Rosy Glow blush and a mini YSL lipstick (shade unknown but possibly Rouge Tuxedo or Rouge Ballet) that I got as a freebie in a “thank you” package from Sephora
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Gotta be MAC Birds&Berries; I go through this about once or twice a year with that shadow!
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: the “new” (d/c’d but I found one at Winners and it’s new to me) Becca Camellia Luminous blush.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light combo skin, dark brown hair, sea coloured eyes (grey, turquoise, green, almost see trough grey).
Look you loved this week?: CT Uptown Girl with crease and upward to the brow from Viseart Neutral Matte, I don’t recall the blush or lipstick, MAC powder foundation.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: I’m wearing Laura Mercier African Violet all over my lids today, I’m trying to go through my palettes to see if any of them have gone bad. This one gets to stay even though I had some Fall-out. I can’t say it’s a favourite though.
Uptown Girl is a favourite, but I use it regularly so I can’t say it’s a discovery.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I am going to try Naked 3 again to see if it’s worth keeping. I’m going to use all of the shades, but not at the same time.
Naked 3 looks excellent on me but I have thought about Viseart Etendu Violette instead. How about you? We have fairly similar colouring.
I think it was either that my Naked 3 is getting old, or I had a primer that didn’t do the job. Yesterday I swatched the palette over UD’s primer, the original, over NYX Milk and on bare skin. It seemed to do a lot better over both primer and Milk, but rather badly on bare skin. I-m going to try it this week on my lids. It is one of my all time most used and loved palettes.
Viseart Etendu Violette looks amazing, I think I didn’t put it on my wish list because it received two C+.
I hope it’ll be on sale sometime this year. As it is I’m trying to save up for Christine’s co lab with Sidney Grace.
