Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look from the week: I only wore makeup twice this week. One of those times I didn’t even manage to get mascara or lip color on, but I did try out the CT Easy Smoky Palette and decided to keep it. So, today’s look by default:
EYES — TFSI. Too Faced Sugar Cookie Palette — Smokey eye using Burnt to a Crisp (crease, taken out past the brow on the outer edge, and swept onto the lower lid), Butter & Love (to blend out Burnt to a Crisp), Half Baked (entire lid), Fresh from the Oven (center of lid), “Tough Cookie” (outer V), and Nom Nom (mixed with Butter & Love on the brow bone; alone on the inner corner). NYX Slim Eye Pencil in Black (upper waterline, smudged out with Tough Cookie on the lower lash line). UD Perversion Mascara. BROWS — The powder only from e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in Medium. LIPS — Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Dulce Caramelo topped with Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow. CHEEKS — NARS Mosaic Glow Blush in Fireclay. FACE — E.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer, BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation in Ivory, RCMA No Color Powder, Sephora Tranquil (contour), e.l.f. Blush in Gotta Glow (as HL), and Medusa’s Makeup Setting Spray.
Your most used product this week: Skin care and Jersey Shore Suns Mongongo Nutrient Dense Anti-Aging Lip Conditioner (what a long way to say “lip balm!”).
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I got a bunch of lipsticks, because Target had them 25% off for National Lipstick day. I learned:
*Revlon Cherries in the Snow on me isn’t the beautiful, bright red-leaning fuchsia it is on everyone else. It’s a medium, somewhat purple-leaning raspberry on me. Still very pretty, but not at all what I was expecting!
*Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Dulce Caramelo is an excellent light nude for my coloring.
*I love the NYX Suede Matte and Pin-Up Pout Lipsticks. Both formulas are creamy (Suede Matte a bit more so), and they have some funky colors.
Skin Tone/Coloring: Under my name. Green eyes, s&p hair
Favorite Look: EYES—I started by priming my eyes with MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre and setting it with Urban Decay Foxy eyeshadow. Using the Makeup Revolution Emily Edit Wants palette, I used Prayer (matte sepia brown) as a transition shade in my crease. Next, I patted Grateful (a shimmery mint green) onto my lid, using MAC Mixing Medium to keep color bright and in place all day. I used Side Hustle (a warm forest green shimmer) on my outer V area. Then I used Chanel Stylo Yeux eyeliner in the shade Celadon (deep green) on the outer third of my lower lash line. I finished off the look with Tarte Big Ego Mascara (the mini that came with the Unleashed palette).
FACE—Estée Lauder Double Wear in Ecru, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, Colourpop Blush Stix in Mini Me, RCMA No Color Powder.
LIPS—NARS Audacious in the shade Barbara.
Most Used Products: Colourpop Precision Brow Colour, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara, Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder.
Beauty Discovery: This is more beauty confusion than beauty discovery. Christine, when I was trying to do a Color Story the other day with Colourpop’s Good Sport palette, I noticed that the shades/names for Flow and Trophies were mismatched to the palette in your photo. In the comments section, you wrote that Colourpop told you that the shades were reversed in your sample. This was confusing to me because the palette I bought has Trophies as olive brown and Flow as purple, just like the palette in your photo! So I did some further investigation and went to Colourpop’s website to see how they show this palette. This is where it gets really weird. There are two photo views of the palette at different angles on Colourpop’s website. One shows it with Flow as purple, and the other shows Trophies as purple. The arm swatches show Flow as purple, but in the typed out list, Trophies is purple. WTH? Lol! In the end, I gave up and used a shade from another palette to create my Color Story, which actually worked out better for the look, anyway!
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, sandy brown and blond hair.
Favorite look from the week:
MAC Amorous Adventure quad
MAC Satin Shimmer and a bronzer for blush
Sephora Flirting Game for lower lashline, waterline and tightline
MAC Brawn and Sable to smudge lower lashline
MAC Myself lipstick
Your most used product this week: All of my staples
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Pat Mc Grath foundation is lovely so far. I ordered Light – Medium powder though and it’s too dark so I’ve been cutting it with RCMA No Color powder.
Your skin tone/coloring: light, MAC NC 15-20, med brown hair and eyes, oily skin
Favorite look from the week: Used my Modern Renaissance. Golden Ochre as transition. Red Ochre in the crease. Buon Fresco on eyelid. Topped with Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Frog. Too Faced BTS mascara. Origins Pinch Your Cheeks Blush in Rose Dust. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in light blondes. Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss in Bonfire
Your most used product this week: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Neutralizer Concealer. Fenty Pro F’lter Powder in Butter. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in light blondes. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow in Creme Brulee. Smashbox Photo Finish Anti Shine Primer. MAC Veluxe Brow Pencil in Fling.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old):
Old: Modern Renaissance. Still my most perfect palette!
New: Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows are only worth it imo for the shimmers. Love adding them to an eyelook!
Intriguing combination for the Modern Renaissance palette, Erica. I’m going to give it a try. I don’t have that Colourpop shade, but I might have something else I can use. You should do a Color Story for this look.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertone
Favourite look from the week: I have been doing some fairly basic eye looks when travelling, but I did use the sage shade from Stila in the Garden all over the lid, with the Juniper ( a darker green shade) on the lid, with a bit of the cream shade in the corners. Paired with Foolish lipstick by Colour Pop.
Your most used product this week: All my staples, I have been using different eye palettes most days. But it’s either been Foolish lipstick or Clarin’s Jolie Rouge lipstick in Spicy Cinnamon.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): No, not this week.
Stila In the Garden is such a lovely palette. I have it and In the Light and I can’t understand why they’d have discontinued them – both were so excellent. How is your road trip? I hope you are having a wonderful time and making some great memories!
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: Aus. Gold tinted moisturizer, Becca Foxglove blush, Too Faced Peach Blur powder, UDPP, UD Casterly Rock (I think this is my favourite e/s EVER) on lids and slightly up into crease, Nimeria in crease and black pencil liner smudge on upper and lower lash lines, BITE Gazpacho on lips, with Elizabeth Arden primer underneath.
Your most used product this week: BITE Gazpacho lipstick and UD Casterly Rock e/s (I love this shadow so much that I’m thinking of getting Marc Jacobs’s dupe of it, in spite of the daft price but I’ll have to check it out in person)
Any beauty discoveries… just how much I enjoy using the mini points perk of Gazpacho…I was loving it so much, after not being all that keen initially, that I went out to get the full size.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Favorite look from the week: I did a smoky olive green matte look with a bright yellow inner corner, neutral blush/bronzer and Nivea Blackberry lip balm. I really liked the color combo of the berry lip with the olive green and yellow.
Your most used product this week: As always, my skin prep items, but also my The Balm BalmJour creamy lip stains. They’re so awesome. I’ve really been loving more pigmented, glossy lip products lately.
Any beauty discoveries… None to speak of… though I do have a couple SG Liquid shadows coming in the mail today, as well as a Fyrinnae single shadow that I’m eager to try out!
Your skin tone/coloring: Light, neutral, combination skin
Favorite look from the week: Can’t say I managed to make anything to write about. Most looks was just a wash of colour on the mobile lid with one or two crease colours and a light browbone shade from Viseart Neutral Mattes or whatever it’s called, you know which one I mean. I’m trying to go through all my palettes, the idea was to use one for an entire week, but now I’ve decided two to three days.
Your most used product this week: Viseart Neutral Mattes, Linda Hallberg Setting Powder and my Hourglass finishing powder, I can’t remember the shade at the moment, and am to lazy to go check 🙂
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): How much I like Bobbie Brown Crushed Lip Color. I only have two, one I’ve had for some time, one new (Plum and Cherry) the colours are lovely and the feel on the lips is very pleasant.
I really need to get some shelves up, or get a chest of drawers to organize my makeup properly, I’m so tired of my messy makeup stash. I probably need both drawers and shelves and at least one more turnable lipstick tower.
