Benefit GALifornia Box o' Powder Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

Benefit GALifornia Box o' Powder

GALifornia

Benefit GALifornia Box o’ Powder ($29.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a fine, golden pearl. The finer shimmer translated into a luminous finish that was glowing but not frosted or pore-emphasizing.

Benefit does not say much about the actual product, other than it features a “soft, blendable formula” and is scented with “notes of pink grapefruit and vanilla” (and heavily scented at that). The formula felt slightly denser than some of the long-standing shades in the range but not as dense as the Rockateur formula. It was smooth, blendable, and easy to work with on the skin, despite being a bolder, brighter shade. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that was easy to apply less of for more medium coverage, if desired. The blush wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Pretty blush, but what caught my eye was the lipstick and it’s the new Lipstick Queen!!! I thought it was supposed to look coral, but it looks like a nice pink on you!

This one looks great on you Christine!

I swatched it in store and I really really liked the base colour! At the same time, I hate overspray because it makes me not want to use the product because then it will lose its prettiness lol. Oh well, I’m glad this is permanent, because I can wait for a sale. Meanwhile, I’ll just use the Tarte dupe. Thanks for always listing dupes, btw, I didn’t even realise the Tarte one is such a close dupe. 🙂

It’s cute but nothing special. Mostly everything runs orange with Benefit blushes so to me this is rather meh. Ooh ANOTHER orangey pinky blush from Benefit. How original… NOT! LOL

Despite having virtually every blush benefit ever made…including ones that predated the boxes, think it’s a pass. To me, benefi, like Nars, shines at blushes. Enjoy it, y’all.

Would this work on darker skin tones? I think benefit has beautiful blushes but they dont seem to care about making universal shades for people browner than a paper bag! I’m around NC45 in MAC.

I’ll pass on “heavily scented”. Never been a fan of their blushes, or any of their products, actually. Although, the product “looks” pretty!

I just purchased Too Faced How Deep is your love blush. How do these differ in color? I have never been in to brighter blushes, but all of a sudden …I need them all! Beautiful look, btw! I saw that Buxom white Russian palette at sephora the other day…I can’t wait for your review!

Dear Christine,
I need your help with this blush. I’ll buy a mac lipstick online, now that mac is finally available at lookfantastic.com. And I’m looking for the exact shade of Galifornia blush. So I could match.
P.s. Can I wear it with velvet teddy as well?

Thank you so much! Xxoo

Ana Avatar

Christine, thank you so much for your answer.
But there are only blush dupes. I would like to find a matching mac lipstick that goes with my Galifornia blush. Thank you!

Ana Avatar

Sorry, Christine..
I’m looking for the mac lipstick that is the same in color than Galifornia. For example I think ravishing or flamingo is quite similar? But I can’t tell because I only see the colors online. I hope you could help me to find matching lipstick in color.
Thank you so much for your time!

Ana Avatar

Thank you so much. So these lipsticks I can wear with galifornia blush? Just asking beacause Galifornia is more coral and these are more pink. Thank you for all the swatches!

Ana Avatar

Christine, I think I know why my galifornia blush is more coral than pink. Maybe because I bought a mini version. I think the mini version is different in color. Do you think this could be possible?
