Becca Blushed with Light Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Becca Blushed with Light Palette
Becca Blushed with Light Palette ($34.00 for 0.46 oz.) is a medium-size, plastic compact that contains three blushes–a neutral-to-warm pink, orange-brown, and pink-coral. One shade (Wisteria) is new and exclusive to the palette, while the other two shades are available in the Becca’s permanent range. If you don’t mind your blushes more pigmented, then I think you might like this palette–two shades were rated lower because they weren’t as subtle/buildable as described. I wish the texture of Snapdragon was smoother and softer, more like the full-size version, but it looked the same applied to the skin, so the difference isn’t as noticeable in practice.

Wisteria is a muted, medium pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was soft, lightly dusty but not dry-looking on the skin, and it was easily blended across the cheeks for even coverage. It had medium, buildable coverage–which is what the formula is supposed to have–that can be applied at near opaque coverage. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading. Tarte Empowering (LE, $29.00) is lighter, cooler (95% similar). MAC Mocha (P, $24.00) is lighter (95% similar). Tarte Impress (LE, $29.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Tarte Prim (LE, $29.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). KVD Beauty Piaf (Shade) (DC, ) is lighter, less pigmented, warmer (90% similar). Divergent Misty Rose (LE, ) is brighter, more pigmented, warmer (90% similar). bareMinerals Golden Gate Matte (LE, $22.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Fetish (DC, $26.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Laura Geller Boysenberry (P, $28.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Blushbaby (P, $24.00) is lighter, cooler, lower quality (90% similar). NARS Love (LE, $30.00) is brighter, warmer (90% similar). Makeup Geek Heart Throb (P, $10.00) is warmer (85% similar). Tarte Seduce (P, $29.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (85% similar). Urban Decay Overexposed (-, ) is lighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Songbird is a medium, orange-brown with warm undertones and a golden sheen. It was richly pigmented (not really buildable, as it is supposed to be!) with a more powdery texture. The good news was that it still applied easily and blended well on the skin, so the powderiness didn’t translate when applied and worked into the skin. On me, the color started to fade after seven and a half hours of wear. Charlotte Tilbury The Climax (P, $40.00) is lighter (95% similar). Milani Coral Beams (P, $13.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Pleasure Model (LE, $31.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Milani Bronze Burst (P, $13.00) is cooler (95% similar). ColourPop Hooked (P, $8.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Ibiza (P, $45.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Tower 28 Best Coast (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). NARS Frenzy (Right) (PiP, ) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Got Change (LE, $8.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). Melt Cosmetics Sandy Cheeks (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Fervor (Right) (PiP, ) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop Stryke (LE, $8.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Flesh Beauty Glaze (P, $26.00) is darker (90% similar). elf Barbados (P, $7.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). LORAC Golden Hour (LE, ) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Jouer Terracotta Sands (PiP, ) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Snapdragon is a bright, medium pink-coral with gold shimmer. The version in the palette is a lot pinker and brighter compared to my standalone, which looked warmer both in the pan as well as swatched. Though this formula is described as subtle and that it can be used as a “blush topper,” it was actually intensely pigmented and a little went a long way. You would need the barest amount to layer on top of a blush, otherwise the strength of the color in Snapdragon would overwhelm whatever blush you were wearing. The texture was firmer and stiffer in the pan, and it felt different compared to the other two shades well (and different from my standalone version of Snapdragon), though the blush looked fine applied and blended out without issue. It wore for just over eight hours on me before fading. MAC Cheeky Bits (P, $31.00) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). NARS Panic (Right) (PiP, ) is more shimmery, darker (95% similar). NARS Realm of the Senses (Together) (LE, $30.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). IT Cosmetics Pretty in Peony (P, $24.00) is brighter, cooler (90% similar). Estee Lauder Wild Sunset (P, $34.00) is more shimmery, lighter (95% similar). ColourPop No Way (LE, $8.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Make Up For Ever 9 Coral (P, $21.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Guerlain Smile (Left) (LE, $52.00) is less shimmery, brighter, warmer (90% similar). Laura Mercier Grapefruit (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Sweet Vision (LE, $28.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Natasha Denona Bloom (P, $19.00) is lighter (95% similar). NARS I Need a Man (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery, brighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Simmer (LE, $29.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Laura Geller Papaya (P, $26.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Zoeva CR030 (P, ) is more muted, warmer (90% similar). NARS Deep Throat (PiP, $30.00) is more muted (90% similar). Given the difference in quality and coloration you’ve described, do you think this palette or the stand-alone shades are a better value?
I’ve been wanting to try some of the Becca blushes and was thinking that this would be a nice option given how costly the single shades are, since it offers more variety at a significantly lower price, but I’m really disappointed to see 2/3 with B- scores.
If the firmness of Snapdragon wasn’t there, I would definitely recommend the palette as a whole. It would be hard to finish a full-size blush, and these are big enough not to feel awkward. Snapdragon might get softer as the first few layers get worn down, too, so there’s that possibility, and it doesn’t really get reflected *on* the skin, which is really where it counts the most.
It’s just hard for me to go all in on a rec when I know one shade just doesn’t have the texture it should 🙁
I’m not really into this set. I am really into the eye look you created!
Thanks, Erin!
Even with its flaws, I can see this one being a decent blush palette. Not 100% sure I will get this or instead get Tarte’s Blush palette? Or any cheek palette, and instead just get Tarte Seduce since I still intend on getting Techno Cumbia and when MAC reissues Taraji Glow to us who received the wrong product.
Tarte’s definitely has more variety – more bang for your buck, I suppose. I’d go with the one you’d use more often, though!
I don’t normally purchase early platinum exclusives simply because I prefer to see reviews first, but I loved the Jaclyn Hill face palette so much that I jumped on this and redeemed my points. I haven’t noticed any texture issues with any of my shades. My only thing is the word, “Becca” isn’t level on the center blush. I love the blushes themselves though. They feel very buttery and blend like a dream.
Happy to hear that you are loving your blushes, Tiffany!
I’m hoping they make Wisteria permanent. That color looks simple, but gorgeous! They def could use a lighter, more neutral toned blush in their line.
Here’s hoping!
I just tried my palette out today – you are NOT kidding about the pigmentation on Snapdragon! I barely touched it with my Goss #14 and still picked up enough for a very noticeable flush. I don’t notice any issues with firm press, but I don’t own the full-size of that one.
So glad you’re not having issues with the press of Snapdragon, Julia!
The colors are pretty, but I have dupes except for Songbird. I tried to grab Songbird at 50% off during the Ulta 21 days of beauty, but it sold out too fast. But I heard they often put Songbird into palettes, I’ll wait for the next kit.
Hopefully the next kit is better!
Hmmm, looks nice but I’m now blown away. Maybe if the shades were fully matte.
Aw, darn!
This palette doesn’t particularly grab me, but it does seem like a good value if you are a fan of Becca/are in need of some decent pink and coral blushes.
I think the shades are ones we’ve seen before, plus two are permanent anyway!
I have enough blushes anyway but part of me still wants this palette. I’ve been eyeing Songbird and Snapdragon for a while now and I like the looks of Wisteria so far too. I just hope I enjoy the quality of them
I bet you have dupes 😉
I like the pink blushes in this but Songbird is a little too warm a brown for me so it’s an easy skip for me!
Woohoo! Sometimes it’s nice to save 😀
Hey Christine do you know if Becca are coming out with any other holiday products this year? I’m Canadian so can’t shop at Ulta but would like to get my hands on a Becca holiday palette thru Sephora but I haven’t heard of any being released?
Sorry, I don’t get any info from Becca directly, so I have no idea!
This palette is listed on Sephora, though.
